  1. dynamat fixed my problem. riped out the trunks guts, dynamated everything including the gas tank. sound deadining is a wonderful thing
  2. oh and to who ever says an SC400 has no potential.... check out www.lextreme.com for all your sc400 needs
  3. theres most likely something wrong with the engines. like they have no internals
  4. on a 98 a 3" would work, but on a 93 i would say 2.5. unless you have other mods and your car is breathing real well.
  5. someone made their 4.0 a 4.6 and ran some crazy times on the track, the thing was lout as hell to. wish i remember where that link was though
  6. bottom line, the sc has more potential. when i look at an sc, i see a hidden supra just waiting to be unleashed. the sc has so much more of an aftermarket for the engine just because its a 2jz. also i think there are alot of sexy body kits like the auto-couture, and the wald. i think that the sc is one of very few cars that maintains a classy feel even if it has over 1000hp and tq to the wheel. but honestly if you dont want a 10sec car, but you still want fast and sexy go with a 98+ sc400, put on a good exhaust and intake and watch the m3 fall behind.
  7. According to the guy on club lexus he spent $9,000. which sounds right.
  8. It will work with no problem, its just that custom turbos might be cheaper than a brand new S/C kit that hasnt even hit the market yet (at least i think it hasnt) their website still says the price is TBA. Turbos are more fun imo to, turbos just have more potential.
  9. I just took out my stock pioneer speakers from the front, tweeter and woofer. you can have them for the low low price of $20 :D
  10. i took mine to a shop and had one custom made, i think it came out looking real good. just get custom man, dont do double din unless you get a clarion touchscreen tv put in there
  11. American Stitching is the name of the company i believe, or something along thoes lines. The only problem is its not matching wood, you would be getting the LS430 wood, where as the SC has burlwood
  12. sorry to say but there is not alot of power mods for the SC430. There are a few custom turbos out there pumping over 700hp and tq and they are FAST as hell, lookin into low 11s high 10s. for suspension you can get Tein, they are considered the best for fine tuning with sport/luxury. You can get a brembo brake upgrade. There is a Blitz full cat back exhaust, but if you get a custom turbo you might as well go custom exhaust. Blitz,Injen, and Weapon R make an intake (i suggest weapon R), NOS. there are only a few good body kits out for it.. the auto-couture Junction produce (that 2-tone is ugly, but its to show the kit)
  13. Take your car to a shop, get custom piping, and dish out $550 for borla exhaust and your good to go.
  14. if you dont believe that rims make a difference in speed then slap on some 20" chrommies and see how fast you can go.
  15. 92 sc300. then save up your pennies and drop in a 2jzgte and mod like crazy. :D
  16. tein flex is adjustable to keep it as close to OEM feel as possible, but then you can change it at the track for a stiffer feel
  17. If memory serves me correct (i have slept since then).... When you change your headunit, your speakers and sub will no longer be powered by their amps. What eve headunit you get no mater what it is will not connect to the amps, so you will have to get a RCA plug for each speaker and a new amp to power the sub. When i got my alpine unit thats what i had to do, then all my speakers sounded crappy untill i got new ones. I also got a new sub as well and just stuck it in a box.
  18. OH yah i forgot tein makes a suspension upgrade for the SC430, you could also get brembo brakes
  19. nice buy you lucky dog, they are fun cars indeed.
  20. i JUST got done seriously five minutes ago putting my new ones on. However im waiting for the bulbs to come in so theres no lights in em. I made them my self. If you want to do them yourself its not that hard if you have a dremel. Just break away the orange lense, dremel away the remaining stuff (it dosent come off easy) then take some sand paper to it. Respray paint the side marker (i use plastikote chrome bumper), then use something to cover the lense. Some people use cd cases, others want a textured look so they get the lighting panels from homedepot or lowes. I went to lowes and picked up a small piece of thick acrylic, its next to the window replacement stuff. Get some ATV clear silicone sealant and seal the outter rim of the sidemarker. Dont glue the lense on top of the side markeror the glue really shows. Ill post pics tomorrow.
