killerFatty Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 the ect pwr button makes the ecu make the fuel/air ratio richer
steve2006 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 The ECT power switch allows the engine to reach higher RPM before the gear changes up so it's like a sports mode and on some models the suspension is also stiffened. As for the speedo check the wiring to the speed sensor on the transmission 1st.
eatingupblacktop Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 It is in your manual. Read it again carefully. The ECT (Electrical Control) is a switch that gives you control over the tranny's shift pattern. As Steve correctly explains, the Power mode raises the shift points on the tranny, which raises the rpm, getting you further into the power band of the engine for better acceleration.
