  1. And i cant anywhere, does it just use the camry's? or what. Ive tried Kragen, Autzone, Napa and Google. I've only found the expansion tank cap. Mines cracked and i need a new one. any help would be great. thanks
  2. Any guides? Im sure its simple, just im used to working on older chevys and not comfortable with the LExus yet
  3. speedodometer stopped working properly, how much does that usually coast? the button, PWR ECT, what does that exactly do? i looked through the manual and didnt anything on the same kind i have. thankyou.
  4. doin it yourself atleast once is always nice In my honest opinion. i have a 78 el camino i do all the work to, but when it comes to this lexus(91 ls400) i take it out for just about everything so far. Quick, easy and you dont have to do the clean up. My book says 5/30 with normal weather, and 10/30 with summer heat. California has been a hot one. ;)
  5. Would it be better for me to go to the local dealer and have this done, or go to an independent mechanic? on my el camino, i just did the work myself, now i dont have the time to even change my own oil anymore.
  6. Sorry for being so basic with my question. I am a mechanic, i just bought this car recently, and the service records arent with the vehicle. Im not so sure what has been done to this car in the past, besides oil changes and just the basic stuff. What my questions are what else should be done. Besides, Engine Oil, Tranny Fluid, Coolant, tires, brakes. Im a mechanic and can do most of this stuff myself, its just a matter of time. I drive 140 miles 5 days a week and the car runs fine, this engine is a champ. Just, i personally think the engine is running hot, and im not so sure if the temp gauge is reading properly, so that one for sure. But at 280,000 miles im guessing a good amount should go into this, like...a full tune up? Valve alignments? Im use to working on older, more simpler engines so alot of this stuff ill just have done, cause after being a mechanic for 6years i dont want to wrench on my off time either. <_<
  7. What should i get done for maintenance? besides.... fluids. spark plugs. hoses. belt.
  8. it is completely against the law to charge your awn AC system. You must be AC/R certified, even if they sell them at the auto store. thats no joke btw.
  9. 29 views and not one response? =/
  10. Were is the sensor at? I have found a chilton or hanes for this car just yet, as i have recently purchased for a commuter car(78 elcamino was just...sucking way to much gas and getting too many miles on it). I know the sensor is f'ed up some how, as the needle randomly shoots up and then down. It's *BLEEP*ing retarded. If anyone could tell me were, brief description and/or picture. That'd be great. thanks -Trevor
