mejojo
When removing the antenna body on my 92 LS400 (broken cable) I had to deinstall what I presume is the main computer (confirm? deny?) in order to get the antenna out. What I found interesting was that there was a lock to keep it from being removed....but there was a key in the lock. Does anyone know the story behind this? spiller91ls
what that is, is the box that controls your keyless entry
mejojo
You're KIDDING! It's HUGE! (about 6"x9"x1.5" guesstimating) As a matter of fact, I have noticed that when I've had trouble unlocking with a weak key battery, holding the key back towards the rear door would help. So it makes sense. I can't imagine why it's locked in there (it doesn't provide much, if any, extra security), but any idea why the key to that lock is left in the lock? Thanks, Joe
SKperformance
what does the key look like? a regualr lexu key with out the head or a regualr key? and does it turn in the lock? it sounds like the ecu but for the wireless door locks mine is in the trunk also but the ant is built into the rear window look for the small weird grid to the side of the 3rd brake post a pic if can
jmblimo
If the car has a factory phone, or had one, that's the phone unit you're talking about.
tansupplyman
You don't remove anything to replace the antenna--see shop manual copies under 'audio antenna. But, yes, the factory phone stuff is on that side.
