92Lex
It depends....how do you use your car? The only time that I had to upgrade my battery was when I upgraded my electrical components. Daily driven....in stock form....just stick with what you have.
mburnickas
Hey guys just wanted to know if its worth spending the money for a Optima Red top battery. Any advice would greatly appreciated easy, no, for me. I had issues with Optima, within 3 years, for free battery. I tested it and had a bad cell (below 9 volts) after load test. OPtima game me a run around. As much as I HATE Chinamart go there an buy there battery. Optima makes there batteries plus same warranty and free towing. All this for 60% less money. steviej
As for usage experience, I have none with Optima, but have read many threads of satisfied users. I have found Die Hards to be a very good choice as well. My OEM Panasonic battery hits 5 years old this month, so I guess I should start watching the sale ads. steviej
mburnickas
Well, it is a sad day. My optima 34R was 11.53 V on multi-meter (and load test poor) so I removed it. Bought a Kirkland battery for $48 (640 CCA) from Costco. Charged for 1 day @ 4 amps. Drove 1 day, let sit and 12.64 V. It is sad that Johnson Controls makes BOTH batteries and the optima sucked. No more Optima for me..not worth the 3X in price and lesser warranty.
