H8R Proof Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 The parking garage at my jobsite has quite a "smooth" ground. I notice when I turn corners (going no more than 5mph) the tires squeak. Like they're "waxy" or something. That's the only way I can think of to describe it the sound. What could be the cause + more importantly a possible solution - or is it nothing to be concerned over? Thanks :)
bbsal Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 i would say nothing to be concerned over.do you put tire gel or spray on your tires to shine them?it could be that or maybe they are wearing and just need to be rotated.if it bothers you like it probably would to me then try rotating the tires and see if that stops it.also look for sighns of warpage or see if there wearing inproperly.
VBdenny Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 In our apartment building in NJ, the parking garage underneath has a smooth concrete finish. When you turn on it even at 2 or 3 mph, you get all kinds of tire squeeling. I think it has a lot to do with the finish on the concrete.
SKperformance Posted August 8, 2003 Posted August 8, 2003 it is all about the finish on the concreat the smoother the loder it is just like a painted floor is on tires
bbsal Posted August 8, 2003 Posted August 8, 2003 painted floors do sqeak like crazy!i guess that could be his problem.must be some smooth concrete hes driving over!
bartkat Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 Most tire squeek in those garages with smooth finished floors. Try just sitting in there for awhile and listen during a busy time. You'll hear all kinds of tire screeching and howling.
H8R Proof Posted August 9, 2003 Author Posted August 9, 2003 Yeah...I guess I didn't realize I wasn't the only one! Thanks all!
