Hot Nav Panel

After driving home yesterday, I happened to touch the nav panel (just below the screen , where the

dest, map , etc buttons are) and they are hot (well, hot as a hot cup of coffee ) , certainly higher temp than my surroundings. Is this normal ? car has just been driven for about an hour, and I had my A/C on too. Imagine if I had driven it all day....

The NAV area on my 04 rx330 gets VERY warm after driving an hour and a half to work even in the morning when the sun isn't even out yet. It does create a lot of heat.

the weird thing is that the heat is not coming from the nav, as if you touch the plastic screen, its not hot. I think it comes from the inside lights, but when i dont need my nav, i usually turn off the screen. anything helps.
