SON OF SAM Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Will adding an aftermarket intake trigger a check engine light?
new big400 Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Not a good one installed correctly.I reccomend the SRT Ive been running it for 3 yrs no probs. The piggy back ecu is set-up so that if there is a prob it will trigger the check engine light.Good Luck
SON OF SAM Posted January 7, 2005 Author Posted January 7, 2005 Ok thanks for the reply. Has anyone tried the K&N intake kit. Not the filter only but the setup for around 300?
TurboGS300 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I dont think there is an injen for a gs4 ← GS400 INJEN INTAKE 92-95 <_< LET ME GUESS!!! Now you're going to want it for the 96 and up? :P
bartkat Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Will adding an aftermarket intake trigger a check engine light? ← Some intake will do that. It's usually because they relocate the MAF and it gets a false reading, causing a CEL.
new big400 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I wasnt aware there was a 92 -95 or a 1st gen gs4.Ive never seen one.The SRT comes with a piggy back ecu to correct this prob and let the maf know how much air is really coming in.
kgh31386 Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I gotta question, how much louder does an air intake make a car??? Like if my dad drove it normal driving, would he be able to hear the difference?
SON OF SAM Posted January 10, 2005 Author Posted January 10, 2005 So the SRT intake comes with the ECU all for 525 buxs?
dcfish Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I dont think there is an injen for a gs4 ← GS400 INJEN INTAKE 92-95 <_< LET ME GUESS!!! Now you're going to want it for the 96 and up? :P ← TurboGS300, G4'S came out in 98 , Just for your information.....
dbgs400 Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I gotta question, how much louder does an air intake make a car??? Like if my dad drove it normal driving, would he be able to hear the difference? ← I've got a 98 GS 400 with a few mods 1 being the K&N FIPK kit and it works great, no check engine light, improved throttle response, easy to install and yes if your father puts his foot into it he will definetly hear a difference. Depending on the age of your Dad ( I'm 48) well it will sound like taking the top off your old cars air cleaner and turning it upside down on the carb..
Tenoshii Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 overboost.com has the INJEN IS2083P for only $187.20 I have a 94 GS300, and the INJEN IS2083P is the only intake that I can find on the internet for it. I have also read somewhere that I need to to have a modified ECU or a piggyback ECU to be able to use an aftermarket intake. Is that true, or can I just get the above mentioned intake with out any other mods?
