i have a 98 es300 that my father bought for me to drive to school. my family isnt mtv cribs rich so an is300 or gs300 is out of reach. so far i've spent $2000 of my last summer's earnings on a sony xplod mp3 head unit, spoiler, paint job on certain pieces. my last project would probably be a sub and amp installation. an es300 makes for an excellent city car but it aint no ultimate driving machine. try plowing it through corners and you'll feel the understeer! the seats are too unsupportive to speed through corners. but going in a straight line... wow! 0-60 is so so but floor the pedal and it hits 90 like it's nothing! braking is equally as impressive as 60-0 can be done with ease. some people say an es300 is a slow car? :snoooorrrtttt: :chairshot: haha! ive spanked maximas, j30s, accord v6, integras, 240sx... the list goes on. :D so far ive hit 125 and some have claimed 140mph or more. speeds at 100+ is an interesting experience; the car floats up and down which gets a little scary. in the highway, i only go 60 because friggin bloomberg got cops giving tickets all over the place. if im not paying attention, the car hits 80 in which case i slow down immediatley!

so yea, thats the car i drive. its aight but if i was out of college and working... id keep the ES and try to put a down on small house or something. one day i'll have a GS :P

Hehe Flip,

you have the same GS dreams i do! Ive gone 110+ in my car on an on-ramp to a freeway (it was a downward slope, not upward) And throughout different times of the week im going 90~100mph. Yes it is a very interesting drive to school :P Highend the car is great, its funky stearing on arching turns with big bumps (going 70mph) because the shocks bounce around, but its controlable (i don't have the Shock Settings like i hear most 97's have, so i don't know if they are average or not). $2k for radio stuff, WOW, is that USD or CD? I don't remember where Bloomberg is  I personally want a Supercharger. but as i said before in other posts, its a pipe dream for now. Maybe a body mod first B) Are cars would be better if the 0-60, 0-80 was faster.

Keep up ur dreams bro!

Yall want to hear a story about the ES. I drive a '96 ES300. I use to drive a '00 Nissan Maxima on a lease, but I needed something I could put some miles on so I bought the Lex. When I first got it I thought it would handle like my sisters camry which it did at first, until I put it to the ultimate test.

So I'm driving home from watchin a movie up at the theatre with my friend and we are going down this 2 lane road through this rich dallas suburb that my friend lives in. No one else is on the road. A car is coming towards us and we are the only two on the road. So as we pass it I hear a SMACK :pirate: on my windshield. (Sounded like someone through a bottle at my car.) so I instantly busted a U and began to pursue whoever threw something at the Es that I had just bought! He notices that I'm onto him and he ducks into a side neighborhood thinking I'm not gonna catch up. I hadn't really had used that ECT button b/c I know it sucks gas but I figured now was a good time to be accelerating fast so I pressed it and punched it after these punks. I turn onto the street right as they are turning onto another street, so I am now like driving so damn fast through this neighborhood trying to catch up w/them to get their plate. Tires are screeching and engine the engine is purrin' nicely :whistles: I still didnt think I'd be able to keep the car on the road b/c I didn't think it would handle that well, but I had to catch these punks so I pushed it anyways. I was shocked at how well it handled. Finally I catch up to them (they were in a '99 volvo, yeah the box shaped ones), I got their plate, but I continued to pursue them. They are drivin as fast as they can even though I am right on their asses, they get out to a main street and they go against traffic passing people on 2 lane roads and everything. Then we finally reached and intersection and one of those new m3 bmw's realizes somethings up so he decideds to join in on the chase. So we got to another intersection and boxed him in and it was a car full of rich kids scared sh*tless. B) I begin to get out of the car and this dude backs out almost trashin the m3, so we decided to chill since we already got his plate and called it in to the cops. The guy in the m3 then asked me if we were out of our minds and asked us what had happened. So we told them. Anyways, sorry to bore yall, the story ends like this. We get back to my friends and the cops come to the house to write a report, and they told us that they had a squadcar waiting at the boys house before they even got home so they were in the S*** with thier parents. Turns out it was 5 High School Seniors throwing water balloons. I had no idea a water balloon could do that much damage. I guess the velocity between the two cars at 70 + miles and hour would do it. So the next day two of the soccer trophy wife moms came to my house and wrote me a check for 500 bucks for the windshield damage. I figured I came out ahead, what do you think? It was a crack about 4 inches, no biggy. Well it definately put the ES to the test thats for sure, and I will never doubt that car again. I would feel confident chasing down some punk doin that again any day. So what do you think, that story top it for performance on the ES. Its a great car and I havent heard a peep out of it since.

i ignore them now

they are just true jackasses with no value for human life

i HATE people that try to race in public, or trafficie areas!!! its Too dang dangerous. i saw a Punk kid in an IS300 driving like a you-know-what. I wanted to say "Don't give us lexus people a bad name" or something. but he wouldn't have listend. It is WAY to easy to find a place near your town, where nobody drives (even cops :P ) where u can test your car out, even on weekends car tracks only charge like $20~30 bucks to go on the track for like an hour or more. OR, if you live near me, everybody drives 80+ on the freeways anyway, so thats test enough :)

#1 Make sure your car is in TOP shape: tires are good, engine, etc

#2 Make sure there is no possible way to hurt anybody (but yourself, cause fast drivin is risky anyway)

#3 Look out for "the man" cause they like to race too! Race up and give your butt a ticket, or worse!!!

Be Safe mates!

i hear ya prozac. one thing i hate is when some kid in a civic w/ one of those loud a$$ exhaust wanting to race from a stop light. if it was some old dude driving an es, they would ignore him but if it was a young buck like myself behind the wheel, they start revving the engine and thinkin they're fast n furious.

Who said anything about racing? I chased someone down that cracked my windshield! What would you do, casually keep driving? You let people walk over you, and more bad occurances such as that one will happen to other people. I guarantee those kids wouldnt do somethin like that again. They were all *BLEEP*ing their pants.

hehehe... Yea tx... what you did was justified AND FUN! but what those kids did was bad.
