I picked up my 2023 RX 350 F Sport on December 29 and after I signed the papers, I was informed that I would only get one key.  They claim that there are not enough chips to make the keys.  If they had informed me that was the case, I would not have taken delivery as we were leaving on an extended vacation and driving.  They claim that they supply a digital key if you download the app on the phone,

When I called Lexus customer service, they could not tell me when keys would be available.   To me this is unacceptable on a $70,000 vehicle

I think a big part of this is the EV mandate that is forcing manufacturers to invest heavily in vehicles that require far more electronics than ever before. This is putting a huge strain on auto manufacturers, as chip manufacturers cannot keep up.

It's not just Lexus. Other manufacturers are leaving off options until the assemblies are available.

Same here. I just bought a new RX-350 and they only gave me one key. They are supposed to send me a letter regarding the 2nd key. Did you get your 2nd key?  How long did it take?

Took delivery of a 450h+ in March 2023.  Still no second fob and no communication from Lexus corporate acknowledging that this is a problem and giving a timetable for when they will fix it.  The dealership can do nothing about this so it wastes my time and theirs calling the dealer.

How is there not  a class action case against Lexus for deceptive practices over 23’ RX 350? One month has gone to 4 months. They want you to reply to their service to all smiley’s. But they don’t tell you, you won’t receive your 2nd key fob for a month, till After you’ve turn in all smileys. I’ve call several time just excuses. I told them to have it outsourced to get me what they promised. I don’t appreciate being deceived.

Bought my RX350h in May. Dealer said second fob between 1 and 2 months. BS. Finally called Lexus today 8/24 and was told probably end of September or early October.  Cant drop[ off car and have someone else pick it up with only 1 fob.  Dealers have blanks and will sell you one between $200 and $400.00. I wasn't told about the key issue until after the contract was signed..

Wow!  I guess I should feel lucky that when I bought my 2023 Lexus ES 350 in June, I got both key fobs.  Something's not right.

I complained to my Sales Manager and he had a second fob for me in two days

I am in the same boat. Bought a Lexus RX 350 one key. Told it would arrive in @8 weeks. 4 months later still nothing. AND my car has been in the shop for 11 days total. In the first 4 months of ownership. Not a good experience this far. Left BMW and Mercedes for this!

Purchased 2023 ES350 was told before finalizing deal no 2nd key. Was already unhappy with dealer advertising stuck to body of car, when told of no 2nd key I said no key no deal they found one.

Good for you!  Dealer advertising on any car I'm thinking of purchasing is an automatic deal breaker.  Both local Lexus dealers in my area (Kansas City, MO, and Merriam, KS) never have any decals or permanent license brackets with their logos on their cars. And no 2nd key is completely weird.

Limited choices had to take or wait will have it removed -- 2nd key was just insult to injury.

Would this be what Lexus cannot get hold on?

The manual key needs to be cut (copied from the one you have) by a pro and programming it to the car should be possible; if Lexus want to, they can.

But maybe the car you have is having different frequency. Seller may be able to inform you.

That Lexus is selling cars without 2 keys is impossible to understand and the excuse is nothing but a bad excuse.

Same experience. It's been 4 months and was tod it would be at least another 4.

I am interested in a class action lawsuit and would like to hear from others if we can band together.

Lexus is stupid getting dissatisfied customers this way, but it is possible just not to buy a car with only one key.

Not selling cars would probably be a wakeup call for Lexus.

Maybe Lexus is a dying niche product. Toyota is what they are branding here. Have had 3 Toyotas and only one of them was a disaster. The first generation MR2 was a splendid toy. The Supra Targa 1985 was a disaster, whenever driving faster than 150 km/h engine warning lamp did show its ugly yellow face and no place in Europe they did know what to with that, they did not yet have the manuals for the car. Take off the top of the Supra and it was shaking and trembling and it was a rocking chair if there was just a micro uneven part on the pavement. Have had a Nissan ZX280 and also a ZX300 and both of these were driving just as firm and fine with as without roof parts mounted. 10 times the cars compared with the Supra. A MR2 Spyder was a fun car we bought when we moved to summer land.

Lexus here is now Toyota and they are selling only Toyota where they service Lexus. Cheaper to make only one brand. Nissans luxury brand is also disappearing.

Purchased a RX350 in April 2023 and was told I would receive only one key fob, after the deal was closed and financed. They said I would get the second one in a few months, maybe even in the fall. However, still no key fob. Called today and they said it may be next year! Seriously?? How disappointing to learn that Lexus is not the luxury vehicle or reputable company I thought it to be. If there is a class action lawsuit, count me in!

Just bought a 2024 Lexus.  After paperwork signed I asked for the second key.  Then I was told they would send it in 10 to 14 days.  Nothing.  I called after 3 weeks and was  told I should have gotten a letter.  I’ve got more survey letters and emails than I can count but no key letter.  Guess I’ll have to go back to the dealership.  Face to Face works better.

Just received my 2nd key fob today, after 8 months of waiting. Took them 1 hour to program it.

Now here is the kicker,  the new key fob does not include the blade key.  I was told that when i bought the car it was given to me.

I don't even recollect them giving one to me,  as it serves no purpose. Its not like you can start the car with it.

So far this "Lexus Experience" is not the experience i  have envisioned it to be.

I have just sent an email to the salesperson who sold me the car. Wish me good luck.

A good locksmith will be able to copy the one your have to one of the above.

If Lexus behave like you describe they are not in the market in a couple years.

What is in the future for Lexus?

Will Toyota stay the big leader of car production?

Will other companies be ready to take the leading position?

We have the same issue. However, I was told that the 2nd fobs are being sent in waves, approximately 4-5 months from mfg date. Our RX was manufactured in August so it will probably be December 2023 or January 2024 before it shows up. I agree, this isn't a dealer issue. However it is still unacceptable.
