  1. Yes, I have since discovered that the $490 "Ambient Lighting" option turned out to be that thin strip of blueish lighting that goes around the front along the dash, coupled with the faint lighting that illuminates the floorboards in the driver's and passenger's footwells. None adjustable. This boggles my mind because no way this lighting should be $490. Also, my ES350 did not come equipped with illuminated door sills, so I bought the OEM lights on eBay for less than $200 and had my son (an auto options techie) install them. It took him a total of 20 minutes to remove the existing "dummy" sills and install the new ones. The dealer wanted ($500, "more or less, according to how long the tech takes to install them"), thus saving $300, more or less. I love the Lexus brand and will always own one, but am disappointed at the ridiculous pricing of some of their options.
  2. Good for you! Dealer advertising on any car I'm thinking of purchasing is an automatic deal breaker. Both local Lexus dealers in my area (Kansas City, MO, and Merriam, KS) never have any decals or permanent license brackets with their logos on their cars. And no 2nd key is completely weird.
  3. About every 15 minutes or so, a prompt appears on my 2023 ES350 GPS screen, asking me to enter a PIN to continue. Since I don't know what pin it's asking about, I have just been tapping the "cancel" button. It goes away for about 15 minutes, then reappears. What is that, and how can I get rid of it?
  4. Can anyone give me a ballpark idea what an illuminated door sill installation should cost on a 2023 ES350? I have the new sills and just need them installed.
  5. Three settings allow you to approach a leading vehicle by varying lengths before the adaptive cruise engages. I use the shortest setting (lets me get closer to a leading vehicle before it starts to slow me down to that vehicle's speed), but if that car is going too slow, I just disengage the cruise until I pass it. There is no way to completely turn the adaptive portion off independently. In moderate to heavy freeway traffic, I just keep the cruise control turned off.
  6. Wow! I guess I should feel lucky that when I bought my 2023 Lexus ES 350 in June, I got both key fobs. Something's not right.
  7. The ES250 4-cylinder engine is not a turbo--regardless of the year. It is a naturally aspirated engine and is terribly underpowered. I should know, I owned one, a 2021, for two years before trading it in for a 6-cylinder 2023 ES 350. Chunk in a few extra dollars and buy an ES 350.
  8. I think the thin strip of lighting is standard and not an option. I hope Lexus doesn't think a thin strip of unadjustable lighting is worth $490, but thanks for the reply.
  9. My new 2023 ES350 came equipped with ambient lighting, as stated on the window sticker, as a $490 option. However, I cannot find how to activate them anywhere on the display. When I search for them, all I find is the control to adjust the entrance lights. All the documentation that I have found says that there should be a control named"Illumination" followed by a color pallet where I can choose my desired color. The dealer or I can find none of those. Could this be a computer coding problem that can be solved by having a tech re-code the computer?
