  3. Upon purchasing a used 2012 Lexus IS 250, the initial issue was that the brakes needed to be pressed all the way down to function. I took the car to a local repair shop, where they replaced the master cylinder, brake booster, and front brake calipers. However, after these repairs, a new problem emerged: the brakes started skipping, gripping suddenly, and making a squeaking noise, likely from the front left side. The ABS light briefly illuminated but then went off again. The repair shop technicians mentioned they were unable to connect the car to a computer to reprogram or reset the ABS. Consequently, I took the car to Midas for a brake inspection and diagnostic test. They discovered two blown fuses, replaced them, and successfully connected the car to a computer for a software update. Initially, they found an error code related to the ECU, not the ABS. After reprogramming the ABS, they reported no further error codes, assuring me that the brakes should be fine. Despite this, the problem persists. The brakes continue to hold and release rapidly, accompanied by a squeaking noise when they hold. Additionally, my fuel efficiency has significantly dropped. Initially, I was getting around 19.5 MPG, but after the repairs and despite driving economically within the city, my fuel efficiency has decreased to 16 MPG. Furthermore, the brake light and TPMS light remain on consistently. I have already spent an additional $2,000 after purchasing the car, with no resolution to the issues. Everything seems to be messed up.
  4. Typically, a hot exhaust means a lean mixture. However, a rich mixture will also make a catalytic converter run hot. I'm going to assume that you've never opened up the ECU and inspected the capacitors for leakage. All LS400's are prone to this. In 1997 and earlier models, the problem is extremely common. 5. On my 2019 RX 350 the radio suddenly failed (screen showed "error" message and said to "see dealer service"). The car has 67,000 miles and was, I thought, in excellent shape. The repair estimate from 2 different dealers is $3300 plus tax for a reconditioned radio (they said a new one was closer to $10,000). Warranty is one year. I tried to reboot the computer as others have suggested by disconnecting the battery, but that had no effect. I'm disappointed in Lexus reliability. I see that this has happened to other owners more than once on the same car. The service tech said this does happen randomly on this model with anywhere from 5,000 miles to over 100,000 miles. --Dave Mote

  7. I would take it to an alignment shop to inspect it. It may be out of alignment.
  8. I use: Cassette Adapter with AUX connector. And then I purchased a TUNAI Firefly Bluetooth adapter. It plugs into 12VDC and has a female AUX plug for the cassette Adapter. I have seen other take apart the dash and use the CD audio out cables with a bluetooth adapter for allegedly better sound quality. MY 2006 speakers are not in great shape so high fidelity is not something I need until I fix my speakers.
  9. I would like to remote start my US250H (or lock or unlock doors) using voice via Google Home Assistant. I found information from 2022 and earlier detailing how to link Enform, but it appears that Enform was replaced with the Lexus App in 2022. Does anyone know how to link the Lexus App to Google Home Assistant. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  10. Thanks. I will check with the auto electric company that installed the window Regulator.
  11. I just purchased a stock 2003 RX300 and am wanting to “beef” it up for some off road fun. Nothing crazy, just out having fun. Wanting to go bigger tires, wheels, possibly suspension upgrades, and anything else that would make it fun and cool looking for my sons and I. We are going to do this together.

  13. Took our 23 GX460 for 6 month service and headed out from MS to MT. One way is about 2,100 miles. We notice the steering wheel is slightly off center to the left. Its been somewhat of a struggle being the car seems to be pulling to the right. There are NO Lexus dealers in this area. Closest is 4 hours in Washington State. Suggestions to how best to address this?
  14. For reference: The day I traded in my 2yr old 2020 RX 350, I registered 31 MPG on the 120 mile trip to the Lexus Dealership. Interstate all the way. Heavy constant city driving usually came out around 19 MPG. Urban traffic around 23 MPG. The ES300h is getting a steady 43 to 44 MPG in the summer city and interstate. You might like the RX350h but they are scarce in these parts. So they are loading them up to get top dollar. Called Free Enterprise!
  15. My 2017 RX 350 just turned 80k. My gas milage sucks, last fill up, it was 14.8 Combined no better than 18mpg, highway is ok, 25-26 mpg. Dealer said nothing wrong. My last Lexus.
  16. It's not the coils. Just replaced both with my good spare one at a time. No change. Next stop, computer, spark plugs, junk yard. It may be time.
  17. Sorry, Don. How about these suggestions?
  18. Well I was told there is nothing that can b done, & any fix is only temporary. Very frustrating. I drove a 1995 ls400 for 20 yrs & never a problem. It’s so frustrating listening to these brakes make that noise
  19. Hello Members, Might anyone know a solution to stream music services (spotify/pandora) over the 2007 LS460 system? I just took possession of this car, and from I can see bluetooth just works for iPhone audio only. Is there a bluetooth adapter I can plug into the AUX port to solve my issue? Much thanks in advance, Kenneth.
  20. Funny I should come across this post today - I pulled fuse 22 (7.5A) this afternoon to stop that annoying dashboard light. The hidden push button by the driver’s right knee didn’t do the trick. I’m very happy with stationary headlights.
  21. Thank you, RX400h. But I was looking for info re: front seat ventilation, thus the title of the post. But it is great to see an accurate (I’m a retired AC technician) description of correct troubleshooting of an automotive AC system! With this heat wave upon us, no doubt your words of wisdom will fall on needy ears at just the right time!
  22. Have you checked to see if any dealerships within say, a 500-mile radius has the vehicle you wish to buy? When we reserved our RX400h, we had to wait one year. Of course, it was well worth the wait.
  23. Seems to be a very weak stream of cool air, if any. Can’t hear any fan running, like my 2024 ESh. Any direction? TIA!
  24. Front 19x8.5 +29 <Both in 5x114.3 Rear 19x10 +34 The front right (passenger side) has minor bend but the tire bead still sealed no air leak (check out last photo) hit a pop hole driving late night hwy18 (Victorville) was bad idea Tyres are included front5/32nd & rear6/32nd. All you will need is 4 new tpms I will not provide those. I will be providing tpms adapter strap. Good deals. I bought these wheels for 6k and the tires $300. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1eCe-2kkcvM2gQftCa_pvgWtTay00a4hO
