  1. Wasn't there some prompt on this site where people figured out how to overide it? Run a search maybe.
  2. Those are the factory 17" rims that come with the lower package RX.
  3. Thanks for the correction guys ... sorry 'bout that.
  4. I believe it's right in front of you (driver) on the dash near the windshield towards the left corner.
  5. Some people basically had brake failure.
  6. The Pilot will definitely have more room than the RX330 ... 3 in the back of the RX is a little tight and the middle seat is more uncomfortable than others with a more traditional rear bench seat. The slope of the back of the RX takes away a little of the height capability for cargo. Sounds like you REALLY want the Lexus, but to me for your needs it sounds like the Pilot might work better. I'd recommend the Lexus wholeheartedly overall in just a general sense though. The Pilots are well liked and have been reliable ... some friends have one and they're pleased. It would probably feel like it sits up a little higher than an RX as well. Sorry for the ramble.
  7. I had the hesitation and the latest fix worked much better than the initial ... the transmission is still quite tight though ... some harder shifts depending on the situation, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The 330 is a complete re-design of the 300. As said the 350 is supposedly coming out in April as an early 2007 model. If it were me, I'd wait for the 350 if you're deciding b/t waiting for that an getting a 330 now ... you will probably have to pay 2-3K more though unless you wait until later in the model year when prices go down b/c of the newness factor wearing off. I would imagine there'll be a redesign of the RX for the 2009 model year ... just an estimate. Otherwise I'm completely satisfied with my 330. Any other questions PM me and I'll be as honest as possible.
  8. You'll see the ------- countdown to ----- to --- and so on till time to release and it's reset.
  9. remars ... do you have pictures of your car with the chromed rims? That would be great! Thanks!
  10. One of the things I don't like about the 400h is the rims compared to the 330 ... has anyone chromed their stock rims or done the chrome exchange option like offered on the 330s? I chromed my 330's 18s and it really improved my appreciation of the car. Just curious. Thanks
  11. It's in the owner's manual, but I think you hold down the ODO button when on the total mileage function when in the on position for 5 seconds.
  12. There are positives to each imho ... Of course you'll save money on the 330 being as though it's cheaper as well as the fact you can get a larger discount on a 330 as well ... you would have to own the 400h for a LONG time to make up on the extra cost with gas cost savings. Of course there are benefits (like helping reduce gas usage, etc) that go with owning the 400h that can't be measured in dollars as easily. Other thoughts: There are little things I don't like about the 400h ... I don't care for the rims as much mostly b/c I like the 18s on my 330 after having them chromed since I have the Black Onyx exterior ... haven't heard from anyone chroming their 400h rims yet to know how they look. I don't care for the round foglamps on the 400h as well as the 330's either ... small detail I know. I also don't like the fact that I'l'l probably feel obligated to have almost ALL my service done at the Lexus dealership due to the Hybrid system (= more ridiculously high service costs for piddly things like oil changes, tire rotations, etc). I know Toyota has proven they know hybrid technology well, but I also hesitate b/c of the newness of the 400h. However, I really like the aluminum interior trim (you CAN get wood now). The CVT transmission is FAR FAR better than the 330's traditional transmission. The fuel economy is great for a V-8 performing vehicle. All said ... I'd probably elect for the 400h over the 330 if you can justify the extra cost of the car to yourself.
  13. I was looking at the pic of your 400h ... can you tell me what running board/nerf bars you have on it? Any other "better" pictures of the nerf bars? Thanks!
  14. what do you mean by push? when i had the problem, i couldnt find anyway to get access to the changer. also, thanks everyone for the replies. i too thought this was bs when the dealer told me about the problem. ill go back to using cdrs and hope the problem doesnt come up again. ← Generally I can see the edge of the CD and I'll just press in a little and it seems to catch and ejects it ... at least a little bit so I can grab it.
  15. I have a problem with CDs sticking from time to time in my '05 and generally it is CDRs, but I never use labels ... a little push and they'll generally eject.
  16. I too think the latest TSB (re-calibrating the tranny) really helps the shifting pattern a great deal ... still not perfect though, but better. I had the one prior (ECM flash) to that done as well, but it seemed to last for only a few hundred miles before returning to what it was before.
  17. It is a C-Best option I believe ... and yes, you can just press lock a second time and the lights will go off.
  18. I haven't noticed anything yet, but try to keep them clean.
  19. Computer reading (generally about 0.7-1.0 mpg high compared to manual calculation) City 18.6 mpg Highway 24.5 mpg (at 64 mph w/little wind or elevation change) Interstate 22.5 (at 79mph w/little wind or elevation change) Generally a mixed tank of city/highway will yield 20.5 mpg or so.
  20. I noticed on my last trip that after I had the tranny recalibrated (due to hard shifting) it held it's speed on hills better and didn't downshift as often ... I could be wrong though.
  21. Had this done on Friday and it definitely helps a great deal. MUCH better, but still not great. I haven't had many hard shifts, but it still doesn't feel as smooth as you'd think it should. That being said ... from what I've experienced SO FAR, I would recommend the tranny recalibration. Husker
  22. When toggling through the INFO menu ... the first MPG will be average MPG ... the second is "instant" MPG ... what you're getting at that exact moment with that exact speed and on that terrain at that RPM level.
  23. Well I don't find it dangerous either, but some have said they need the instant response in certain situations that could result in an accident.
  24. My list of Pros and Cons after putting 15,000 miles on the car: Positives: Exterior Looks - really like the more aggressive exterior Roominess - rear seat especially is a nice bonus; very comfortable Reliability - quality of materials and durability a plus Holds Value - great re-sale Love my chrome rims on the black exterior LOTS of other minor things Negatives (will be more specific and seem like more, but isn't): -- A slight bit more room in the cargo area would be appreciated, but not at cost of size (so it's fine). -- Base stereo just OK -- Lack of satellite radio (soon to be alleviated in '06 it sounds like) -- Tranny hesitation - so very annoying more than anything -- armrests seem a little weak -- rear visibility to the rear corners - not a huge deal though -- tires seem to wear quickly -- paint seems to chip easily (I'd recommend the clear bra if this would REALLY bother you) -- HIDs need to be tilted up a little to prevent cut off on road view -- Wish the cruise light only came on when engaged rather than being on when the system is turned on. -- Kind of tough to stop the windows when in the auto up/down mode. Some of these are really picky and minor, but I'm trying to be comprehensive. Overall I'm pretty darn pleased with the car and the dealership experience can't be beat. Without the tranny hesitation I wouldn't even question my choice to buy an RX330.
