  1. Yikes! :o I would not recommend ANYONE try this with their 400h!! This process could be the CAUSE of the damage that is making that noise. This process is nothing more than you forgot to release the hand brake in idle or engine off! how could it cause damage!!??
  2. Hi All, I happened on mine!. Would you do this test tonight on your RX400h. -Apply hand brake hard (Actually foot brake!) to make sure the car NOT ROLLING ON IDLE when you release the brake. -Turn the key to ready mode. -hold down the brake(just like you start to drive); pull the gear to reverse; release the brake but the hand brake is still hold hard(just like you forgot to release tha hand brake). -At this time; did you hear the vibration and humming sound? Mine is happend a few time during a day. If I keep trying for a few time, the noise and vibration gone for a day!! I would like to know how it react in that condition before I bring my car to the dealer. Thanks Huey. :cries:
  3. Anybody know how to reset Maint req light set by dealer for oil change? I changed oil + filter at home. Thanks.
  4. I am going to take my rx400h to service dealer to check out the noise this sat. 11/12/05 but I want to ask all of you first. The humming; buzzing or vibration noise came from engine area but I don't know where(transmission; electric motor; engine mount..). It happen when I accelerate slowly on long on ramp until the watt meter up close to 100. If I hit the gas pedal harder, or slow it down a bit, the noise gone. Sound like it happen when the car need more power at that point but I don't give it enought power. Is that electric motor noise? Any of you hear that in yours? My car had 7800 miles now. When it new I don't pay attention to this noise because I was tried to get the best mileage. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Huey. :cries:
  5. Sorry for miss spell. I don't know how to fix the topic line.
  6. Hi All, It's still years away but I wonder do we have to take to Lexus service for smog check or any smog station?. How they do smog check when engine shut down any time? Do they have the way to keep the engine running all time? It's would be nice if I can make this manual switch to keep engine running when I wanted. Huey.
  7. I drove my rx400h to Catch Creek casino last weekend. On the country road(small, undivided road) at low cruising speed(40-45 mph?? I forgot); the RX400h perform just like pure gasoline engine although electric motor is still kick in for better milages. It make me wonder if the RX400h need to fine tune the software to control electric power at higher speed?? May be we can get a software upgrade in the future?. I hope Lexus manufacture are listening us.
  8. Finally I figured out the cause of all bad feeling about driving RX400h in the first 3 weeks such as un-intended acceleration; too much "wind effect" althuogh there was not much wind; "Sea sick" on smooth freeway.... The tires pressure! They pump up to 45PSI on my new rx400h! After reduced to 32 PSI. Everything OK. Average MPG drop from 25.6 to 25.2. I realize other owner post about high tires pressure too.
  9. Hi All, I have my rx400h for 1 month now. At freeway speed(50 to 80). The electric motor kick in anytime made me feel like un-intended acceleration at that moment and nervous when drive in traffic. I have to keep the distant between car longer. Do you have the same as my feeling? Any suggestion? Thanks in advance. Huey T.
