  1. I live in Orange County California and Have a 2000 RX300. I had a curiosity just like you to see what is the highest temperature on my RX300. I've took pictures with my cell phone camera. I also have a picture of the lowest temperature i've seen here.
  2. I clicked on the link and look around and around and i cant' find anything on Lexus RX
  3. I have an RX300 with only 55K miles on it. I've had it since day one when I was 17 years old in High School. I'm now 21 and i still like my car. Well, actually whenever i service my car at the dealership, they give me a loaner car like RX350 and man I love the new RX350.
  4. I have Lexus Link on my GX470 and I think it's good. But in all honesty i rarely use it but its' good to know it's there if you need it. I've used it a couple times and the operators on Lexus link are very nice and helpful. Here the website to more information. http://www.lexus.com/lexuslink/
  5. You're in New York, I thought the Lexus Head Quater was in Torrance California?
  6. As Most of us here have seen and heard about the RX400h mostly in still picture, photograph and even read a lot about it too. How about see it in action, here's a website with video clips of the RX400h. http://www.lexus.com/assets/magazine/q105/index.html :D
  7. Actually, I bought a brand new set of tail lights for under 400 bucks. I also bought a pair of 01-03 RX300 HID Headlights for only 200bucks from ebay. tail lights and headlights Under $1000 bucks, I also bought a wooden steering wheel, a Wooden shifter and the new air bag with the chrome Lexus logo on it. I just haven't gotten the chance to install it yet. I'm still looking for the 01-03 style front grill. My original RX is a 2000 and it's becoming an 01-03 RX :)
  8. What are you talking about? You were able to change your low beams and high beam bulbs but not the fog? You should look closer at the fog, yes you can change the bulbs on the fog. Hey use the exact same bulbs as the low beams 9006. Well in my suggestion, maybe the best way to reach the passenger side fog is to remove the "Windsheild wiper Tube" and for the Driver side fog, take out your battery. Then you'll be able to reach in and change your fog lights.
  9. Oh yea i forgot to say, For the RX300 The Low beams are 9006 bulb The Fog Beams are 9006 bulb The high beams are 9005 bulb
  10. I have a 2000 RX300 with 6000K Philips Ultinon HID. I upgraded my headlights to the 01-03 HID headlights housing. It's impossible to hookup the auto-leveling. The auto-leveling requires the harness for the speed senor and all that stuff which the 99-00 doenst' have. But the auto leveling only moves the headlight couple inches so not really needed. mikecolorama, If you just want to change the bulb color from yellow to a whitish color, I personally recommend the "Sylvania Silver Star". http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/A...tar/default.htm Just keep in mind that any light bulbs with tinted paint on it will reduce light output like the ones LexKid630 recommended. But here's the thing, if you want to go for performance just go with silverstar, if you want to go more with the looks then go with bulbs that LexKid630 recommended. P.S. Sorry LexKid630, I didnt mean to say anything negative about your suggestions but I just wanted to tell mikecolorama about other stuff too :)
  11. I have a 2000 RX300 also and the same thing happen to me. Since it's a 2000 and the battery is original, it must be 5 years old now, which is the a typical life span of a battery. All you need to do is replace a new battery. Go to pepboys, costco or your local auto store and buy a new battery. Don't buy a the battery at Lexus because it's very expensive and it's weak too because the amperage is low. I bought my "Energizer" battery at pepboys and it works very good, it was only like $50 dollars
  12. I drove a 2003 Camry V6 before (my uncles) and my mom's ES330 and I personally like the ES330. I found that the ES330 is quieter than the Camry and it is smoother also. The Adaptive Variable Suspension and the HID headlights on the ES are my favorite as oppose to the Camry, both of those are not available. Since you are the one who's buying the car, I think you should do a research yourself. Perhaps go to the Lexus website, click on ES330 and do a comparasion of the Toyota Camry and see for your self. In my opinion, just pay a little bit more money and go for the ES330. (What you get is what you paid for). Even though the Camry and ES is somewhat similar, the ES is more elegant compared to the Camry. Lexus makes vehicles are more Luxury and elegant than toyota vehicles. This is all my opionion, go with whichever car you feel comfortable with and test drive both car and your instinct will tell you which car. P.S. Get a Lexus and become one of us. :D
  13. Hey LexusBoston, Your Welcome, :D I hope you'll get ur problem solved after having the dealer checks it out. Good luck :)
  14. Here's pictures from my RX300. After doing this, it might solve your problem First press the MENU button on the NAV Then Press the SETUP Scroll down and you should see something like this, change MAP COLOR and see which one suits you best. Remember to Press OK to save the changes Good Luck - Robert
  15. I agree that having no lisence plate in the front makes the car looks nicer. But here in california, it is required to have lisence plate both front and back. If not there's a fine for it. I lost my lisence plate one time and i had to get a new lisence plate and buy a new lisence plate frame. I bought it for $35 at Lexus of Westminter which i think is still a lot, but 50 bucks at your dealership is wayyyy to much... You can go on ebay and search for one a lot cheaper.
  16. No problem. I'm glad u got ur problem solved.
  17. Thanks again. You've been very gracious with your time to this new member. However, I don't think I'll be able to get a picture very soon. I don't have a digital camera (I'm a 35mm person) and additinally I have a pile of chores to do before Christmas that unfornately take precedence over my seemingly insignificant light bulb issue. So please don't be offended if I don't respond quickly and thanks again for your help. I'll be in touch soon. ← Hey ajvenuto, I have a 2000 Lexus RX300 and I decided to snap some pictures for you during my spare time. I hope you'll be able to get it fix. Good Luck -Robert :)
  18. I suggest that you maybe try putting in a bottle of Fuel Injector cleaner for your car. They usually cost around 3 or 4 bucks for the regular ones. There's the Chevron Techron Concentrate fuel injector cleaner which is about 10 bucks at pepboys and Z-Max for about 25 bucks. I've tried the Chevron and it works pretty good. After a bottle of that, I notice a big difference in acceleration, engine noise, and the idle RPM was a lot better. Using a bottle of this will help clean out your system. Try it out. What kind of battery are you using? How much Amp is this Battery? If you just replaced the battery it could be that your car is not charging it. One thing you might wanna try to do is clean the battery connectors. As time pass by, the connectors might become corroded especially after 15yrs. Use soap and water and a brush to clean it. Dry the connectors after you clean them. It can also be that you have a loose connection to the battery so be sure that the connectors are TIGHTLY screwed to the battery. What do you mean by "...recently whenever I turn on the ignition, it would take forever to actually START." Do you mean it takes forever to crank the engine? Or takes forever to warm up and run? How bout the gas ocatane? Ever since you got the car back from your dad using 87 Ocatane, did you switch back to 91 octane? One last thing, Do you service your car every 5k miles at Lexus, at those Jiffy Lube places or yourself?
  19. I bought my 2000 RX300 brand new and it doesn't have a strap. :)
  20. Hey Riwyle, You said that your "local library subscribes to a similar on-line service which includes TSB's, wiring diagrams, etc." I'm in So Cal too. Which library is it and city is it in? Thanx :)
  21. Sdaccord01, I have a 2000 RX300 with 30,000 Miles on it. Just to let you know I already went through that route. I have no Nav but wanted an OEM Factory nav. I ask Lexus and they said, No.... It can not be done. It will void the warranty. You can only have Nav when you first buy the car. Not only that, the Nav goes together with the HID. Installing the Nav is very complicated. If you're still shopping around for a used RX, look for another one, patient is all it takes. I'm sorrie to hear about your parents being stinggy on the RX330 :( What goes around, comes around right? Hmmmm... Maybe later on when they retire just be stingy back to them. Let them know how it feels. Hahahah....
  22. I bought the Meguiars Gold Class Leather Wipes and they suck. Just like SW03ES said, "stick to 2 step systems as one steps don't condition as well." I use Lexol, its' a very good product. http://www.lexol.com/docs.html
  23. Okay i just got off the phone with the AUTO LIGHTS. I asked them about the "RX300 Headlight W/O HID", they said that it doesnt have HID (no bulbs or blast) and is not for HID light because it doesnt have the correct HID beam pattern. this one is for Halogen. Okay so no luck on that. I just called LEXUS and they said that it will be $1357.64 for each side and it comes with the Ballast, the Bulbs, Housing and the auto leveling Motor. He said that the dealership will not install it because it voids the warranty and there is no wire harness for the auto leveling. But i have no more warranty and i dont need auto leveling so it's fine. Hmmm now that they wont do the installation for me, i was thinking to bring it down to a Toyota dealear and maybe they might do it for me.
  24. I dont need to buy any new ballast or bulbs because I already have a ballast and a bulb from my conversion kit. Tried searching ebay but found nothing, still going to search. But Okay, so i search the Internet and I came across these After market Headlights which runs for $225 each. All i need is a sharp cut off line, I dont need auto leveling and all that stuff. I'm not going to be hooking up the autoleveling since it sounds to complicated. Just a good cut off will be good enough for me. I want to stop blinding people. So is this AFtermarket okay to use or should i stick with the OEM ones? RX300 2001-2003 HeadLights - CLICK HERE
  25. I have a 2000 RX300 and I've installed a Philips Ultinon 6000K HID Conversion kit on my car. My original 99-00 Headlight Housing doesn't have a nice Cut off line like the OEM HID's. Instead mine just glares out eveywhere and the beams doesn't project in the right place. I tried lowering the headlamps but it doesn't help. I know that oncomming drivers hate this and along with people who I drive behind. I was wondering, if I went to the dealer and bought the OEM 2001-2003 RX Headlights and have them installed professionally, will the 2001-2003 have that cut off line and do those headlights support HID beams? Another thing, I know that on the RX330 and the ES330 with OEM HID, when the car first starts and the headlights are turned on, they adjust and move up and down. What about on the 2001-2003 RX300 with OEM HID, do they also move up and down like that too? I don't want to go back to regular OEM Halogen or those imitation HID bulbs. I want to keep the real HID kit but i want to find a solution this problem. I've tried searching the forum but couldn't find any answers to my question. Please help if you can, I want to stop blinding people. Thanks so much.
