  1. I also have a 2000 RX300 and have just started experiencing this same problem. They still are working but go up very slowly and I have to help it all the way up. I have not even called the dealership about replacements yet. Are you saying they are that much for each one or is that the total for two? I hope someone has an answer for this question because even if that is for two hatch lifts that is expensive. Then you have the labor charges for installation. I have an extended warranty on my RX but they are probably considered a wearable item and therefore not covered.

  3. Thanks for the advice. I just purchased this car in September 2004 from Lexus here in Ausitn, Texas. It had 59,000 miles and is a certified pre-owned with a warranty. They had just completed the 60,000 mile service on it and I was wondering if replacing the battery should have been part of that service considering the mileage and the fact that the battery was original? If not, I'll just have to pay for it myself, any recommendations on batteries for the 2000 RX300? One of the repliers to my post said that the batteries at Lexus don't have enough apms. Plus I'm sure they charge way above what an average battery should cost. Thank you, Tanya
  4. I have a 2000 RX300 and in the last month have experienced a problem with my clock. Three times in the last month it has not held the time. I start up the car and the clock has gone to a default time of 1:00 a.m. I have also noticed that when this happens my display brightness is also dimmed and I have to readjust it. Its like the brightness has moved down a few notches on its own. In the manual it says that if the electrical power source has been disconnected from the clock the time display will automatically be set to 1:00. To my knowledge this has never happened so I hope someone can give me some advice before I call the dealership. THANK YOU.
  5. I previously drove a 1995 Lexus ES300 that was purchased in 1999. I loved my sedan, but unfortunately I was in a collison and my car was a total loss. I only had two more payments and it would have been paid for. That stung! My ES was the first really nice car I had ever owned. Looking for a new vehicle was not something I was looking forward to. I did decide that since I would have to replace it I wanted an SUV. I had purchased the ES300 from Lexus as a CPO with 34,000 miles and it only had 65,000 when it was totaled. I decided to take a look at the CPO RX300. That is what I ended up buying after looking at many other SUV's. I am very happy with my choice. It is just the right size for me and I really enjoy driving it. I liked my ES300 and would still be driving it if not for the accident, but I do admit that I am enjoying the RX300 much more!!
  6. I've been searching the forum for information about the best car wash soaps to use and found one person saying that the Gold Class was too stripping on the wax. I have a huge bottle of this and don't want to throw it away but I want to use the best wash for my RX330, one that I don't have to order over the internet. Could someone please advise me on this, as I don't want to use anything to harsh on my vehicle. Thanks to all.
  7. I posted this question in the general forum but haven't gotten any responses so thought maybe someone here might know. I want to get a cargo liner for my RX300. I have looked at the Husky liner at the Lexus dealership and they want $95.00 + tax, I think its to much. Are these liner's worth the money, or are there other alternative mats (less expensive) that would provide the same protection for the cargo area. I saw a website for a mat called "Exact Mats", they are clear and they don't have the lip that the Husky liner has. Any reply with advice would be appreciated. Thank you
  8. I previously owned a 95 ES300 which was very easy for me to wash, I purchased a 200 RX300 in August and my husband washed it the first two times. I decided to wash it yesterday and was amazed at the amount of time it took me. It is so much bigger than the ES and getting to the roof proved frustrating for me. I don't have the arm reach to even reach across the windshield easily, I have to get a small step ladder. I'm not short either! Just thought someone might have some advice to make it easier, standing on the step ladder concerns me because I don't want it to fall into the car and dent it. I've read where members have said that those brushes you see sold should not ever be used on your Lexus or any other car because they can scratch your paint. Please Help with some ideas, I would appreciate it. Thank you :cries:
  9. Hi, I am new to this website but have been a Lexus owner since 1999. I previously owned a 1995 ES300 and I just purchased a 2000 RX300 and am interested in buying a cargo liner. Would like to know if anyone has info. as to getting one for a good price. The Lexus dealership sells them for $99.00 + tax and I think that is too much. If I am posting in the wrong forum please forgive me and redirect me. Thanks for your help.
