  1. Is there a link to a post or a website, that gives instructions on how to remove all the speakers from a 93 gs300?? or if someone can post something that would be great. Thanks.
  2. yeah a converter is a good start for acceleration performance.. I would also recomend porting out and knife edging the throttle body.. did it on my wrx and made a noticeable dif. plus there are a few ground mod kits out there.. and thye eliminate throttle hesitation.. you can make a home made kit for around $50-$75 or you can go fancy and get the HKS kit for like $150 if my memory is right.
  3. IMO if it was me.... I would take the engine out... have it tested... if the block is good... chunk the internals.. and rebuild with all forged stuff.. a but pricey... but... gotta pay to play..(btw this is what I plan on doing) after the internals are put in place a set of cutom grinded cams would eb nice.. and a turbo.. going 2jz-ge... as well as a stand alon ecu.. and a adjustable coil over suspension.. I heard a supra TT rear end swap is good.. as well as rebuilding the tranny with a bullet proof set up..
  4. The bottem end is identical... but when you get up top.. there are some differances... and as you mentions exhaust, ecu modules etc... and A turbo.. wont be able to go twin on the 2jzge... so i hear anyway. due to manifold clearance problams.?? you may have to have one custom made.. it might work then..
  5. 15grand? and only 450hp?? $ to hp ratio is crap in that scenario IMO..
  6. I also prefer awd being a previous owner of 2 wrx's one being modifed significantly. but I have also been the owner of 2 mustangs, a 91GT also significantly modified and a stock 98 v6 convertible thye are rear wheel drive and I have also owned a integra front wheel drive... I would have ot choose rear wheel drive over front wheel... I like the transfer of power much more than I do on a fw.. and on the handeling issues... nothing a few hundred bucks cant fix.. just dont get crazy in the rain..
  7. xs engineering.. these the same guys as turboxs? they have a monster of a wrx also.
  8. if its looks you are concerned with then... either one is fine... I would save the money and keep the lexus ones unless you can make money on the deal... if it is performance you are looking for. then find out wich wheel is lighter... but the lexus wheel will more than likly be more stronger.
  9. youll get better gas miles if you put the stock ones back on.. but if that is not a concern to you... unless you plan on doing some burnouts or some drifting down in miami... then I wouldent worry about tire wear.. I cant really tell from your pic but if they are really low profile then you may want to switch back to the stockers.. most lower profile tires do have a shorter life span.
  10. I had a WRX and after I used the clay bar it looked better than brand new. I highly recomend this.
  11. well the dif in gear ratio will affect your speedometer, and in effect also effect your odometer. just the same way changing tire size or rim size can even switching to lighter or more heavy rims will throw off the calibration of the speedometer. but it can be calibrated.. call around to some of your local shops and ask if they have the software to do it... I cant think of the exact name of it at the momant.
  12. NM I answered my own question.. 10k for THAT! guess Lexus keeps its value ehhe
  13. yeah I ran across this car on ebay a few days ago also... did anyone actually buy this thing?
  14. yeah the blowdryer is good, you will be left with residue..if you dont have any goo gone around you can also use wd-40 it works very well.. spray it on.. let it sit for a sec and then just wipe it off. then polish away.. Goodluck
  15. filling and repainting? sounds like a lot of trouble for just a wing, unless your going with a full bodykit, then I can see going through the trouble.
  16. I doubt it, would have to fab something. The more I look at the 318ti engine bay and the Gs engine bay, im starting to think its near impossible.. I still have not found any one who may know what other vehicle this may fit. Its not that I have anything against the Lexus its just that I am looking for something a little smaller and lighter. Thanks. Ps: and not a civic either (-:
  17. Okay, excuse my ignorance for not searching. I have found out that this is the same engine that is in the supra N-A. I know this is common knowledge to you guys but I am pretty new to lexus/toyota and pretty much to imports. So now that I know the engine type I still have one unanswered question. What other vehicle will this engine fit into besides the obvoiuse lexus/supra. I was planning on building a BMW 318ti about a 94-95yr model. Will this swap work? I know it may be hard considering its a sideways inline 4cyl.. any suggestions on this swap would be great. Its a shame to not make this engine a monster its just sitting there. Thanks; tomanji
  18. First I would like to say hi to everyone I am brand new to this board and pretty much new to lexus's also. Here is my story, a friend of mine does body work for a living and he was about to fix a salvaged 93 model GS300 the car is in my opinion beyond repair needing a whole front clip and a whole rear clip not to mention radiator and supports. He got the car for free and didnt want to mes with it anymore so I said I would take it. The engine in the car starts fine and shows 71,500 miles on it. I dont know the condition of the transmission though. My question is this. What is the HP and TQ rating on this engine? Its an inline v6 a friend told me 220hp but I just want to make sure. And the other question.. the MAIN question is.. what other cars would this engine fit into, I prefer something more lightweight and a little smaller than the GS300 and how hard it may be.. btw the interior is complete and the airbags did not come out, the interior and whats left of the body is for sale, contact me at tomanji2@comcast.net if you guys need anything. thanks.
