  1. On the replacement key issue: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=55999
  2. Sorry to hear about that. Toothpaste will not be abrasive enough. I would advise using a series of polishes. From a local standpoint, you could try Meguiar's Plastx. I've had ok success with it, but prefer the multi-polish method better.
  3. Sorry to hear about your issues. I just bought a used 07' GS, and the 2nd key was MIA. I did a little research, and found a reputable seller on ebay. Seller name is oem.remote and their email address is oemremote@gmail.com. I was able to get a remote with an uncut blank for less than $100. I ordered it on Tuesday, and it was here by Friday. Now sure, I still have to get it programmed (approx. $45), but I don't have to pay the retail for the key itself ($340). Good luck, Nick
  4. Thanks for all the replies so far. I'd probably like to stay away from sexual references, but they're just so dam funny. Found this one the other day, and it fits since my name is Nick: 4NICK8 The one I thought of was: FUTRCEO
  5. FYI..I received the remote already. Looks like it is in perfect condition, and indeed it came with an uncut key. I doubt a locksmith would charge very much to cut it.
  6. Hi All, Just purchased an 07' GS350, and have to go and get it registered. I'm wanting to get another "prestige" license plate, and was wanting your help with ideas. I get 7 characters for my Georgia License plate. -SUCCESS -MYLEXUS -LEXTASY -WORKHRD -PLAYHRD -2BIGNTZ ;) What others do you guys have?
  7. I have not even heard of them. Wish I would have reached out prior to purchasing.
  8. Haha, it's awesome man. Now only if I was this age and single, I'd be like Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck. Instead, I'm happily married! I still can't believe they have a tape deck in the 07's. They FINALLY pulled them in the 05' Mercedes!
  9. Well I certainly appreciate that. I've always been smart with my money, and am fortunate to only owe $10k on it
  10. I just finished up a bottle of Sonus Tire, and did not like it. Too shiny, and slung like crazy. Not to mention, it was $10+ for only 8oz. Adam's VRT is great for a water-based, satin finish, but it is a little pricy too. However, very versatile. It' s a lotion-like consistancy too, so very easy to use. Poorboys Bold n' Bright is nice and water-based as well. It's a very liquid like consistancy, and can get messy. More on the shiny side though.
  11. I've got the Wolfgang/Pinnacle version, and it too is great. So much fun to play with, and I have definitely seen a reduction in wash related swirl content.
  12. I just joined, and as I roll through some of these posts, I just posted a company that custom makes paint pens (not messy brushes) specifically to your paint color. The name is Auto Visuals, and I just ordered one for my new one, but have had much success with them before.
  13. I'm a big fan of the Adam's Polishes Carpet Cleaner. It's pretty inexpensive, and very effective. It doesn't leave any harsh smells either. Just spray, agitate, then take a damp microfiber and wipe away. From there, vaccum as normal. It's great for all-purpose carpet cleaning, and even for some stains, but I will say it's not that "Power" product that I've seen before. Usually I'll use 303 Spot Remover for stains and stuff like that.
  14. Hi All, I'm new to the forum, but certainly not new to detailing a car. I owned a high-end business here in Atlanta for a number of years, and still get to detail occasionally for Barrett-Jackson and Russo & Steele. I look forward to contributing to maximize everyone's "shiny-ness". I picked up an 07' GS350 over the weekend, and if you drive on I-285 here in ATL, you'll get rock chips like crazy. On my previous car (Mercedes E500), I had a fellow detailer point me to these folks. Even on dark metallic, it was awesome. They custom make paint pens that are super easy to use. I found my paint code (212 07' Obsidian) and was quick to order. It's a little pricy, but I'm sure the dealership is more expensive, plus is a hard to use brush that they provide. Then felt tip pen from these guys is so easy to use! $22 plus $6 shipping. www.autovisuals.com All the best, Nick
  15. I saw the post from annah, and since I just picked up my first Lexus this past weekend without a backup, did a little research. Found a couple vendors on ebay selling Smartkeys (averaged shipped $85 with cut keys), but one stood out. They'll send folks OEM remotes with uncut keys. Good for back up, and the best news is that they are under $100 shipped. FYI, you do not need the physical key for the backup if you don't intend to use it in an emergency situation. However, with these guys sending an uncut one, you can get it cut at a Locksmith. FYI, I called Nally Lexus and here is what they said: New Retail=$335 Wholesale (from a buddy)=$268 Programming=about $40-50 I just ordered mine, and maybe I'll be able to take it to the dealership and play the card of, "I just bought it used and it's not working any longer", since it is still under warranty?? We'll see.
  16. I was on stage with Carol Shelby at Barrett-Jackson when they revealed VIN #1. What a cool experience!
  17. Just had mine in for 5,000 mile service, asked them to fix the windshield creaking, dealer stuffed some foam between dash and windshield. Will see how it works. I have Starfire Pearl paint and am noticing small rust spots, dealer says rail dust, am taking it back to have them buffed out. Anyone else have this problem? I would highly recommend them use detailing clay, as to not buff through your clear coat.
  18. Hello All, My name is Nick, and I am in Metro-Atlanta. I just got rid of of my 2003 Mercedes E500 and picked up a loaded 07' GS350 on Saturday. I'm very pleased with what I'm seeing and experiencing so far. It already has the billet grille, Aluminum 430 wheels, and the windows were tinted, including the windshield at 55%. Super clean, with only 21k miles on it. At the age of 27, I sell software, but started and owned a very high-end detailing business here in Atlanta, which included a handful of famous folks. The car bug really hit me. I successfully sold the business in 2005, but have had the opportunity to detail for Barrett-Jackson and the Russo & Steele auctions since, along with a handful of folks I still see throughout the year. I look forward to contributing most in the area of keeping our beauties clean ;) I look forward to participating with everyone on here and learning more about my new baby! After a scare on another post, I definitely need to pick up a spare key. Any suggestions? Nick
  19. I just bought my used 07' GS yesterday. I'm going out to get a spare immediately!
