    My AC compressor locked up so I ordered an aftermarket off ebay for about $270 and had a mech friend install it for $100. What would that have cost me to go OEM and a dealership put it in?

    Ah. Well yes a locksmith can open it. That does seem cheaper but a lot more work and if you have insurance that reimburses you for then the smith is free.

    I think this is a little to negative. If you have it done right by the right people (not some punk shop that will "slam" it) using springs designed to lower your car merely an inch you will not have any noticable cons. No real pros either but you arent destroying anything sheesh. Go for it, just do it right. And if were "just teenagers wasting rubber burning tires and ruining our vehicles by lowering it an inch" so be it.
