drad3, my first thought was worn pads (until I read that you replaced them). Second thought is a worn or torn bushing. I'm 99% sure that someone will read this that has had the same problem and give you "Great" advise.

coolwater, I have used Costco gas on and off for several years now. Never had a problem with it. Only problem is that it's about 10 miles out of my way. Not very cost effective to drive 20 miles round trip to save 5-8 cents a gallon when it's $2.30 or so a gallon. :chairshot: Way to much $$ for gas here in California.

Hi Kingkong, non of the buttons are "The" programming button. Each button can work a differant gate or garage door opener. Let me know if you need more help. B)

These two midsized SUVs share the same gasoline engines in their conventional versions. As hybrids they will share the same powerplant and drive system as well. Both vehicles will use a 3.3-liter V6 engine combined with Toyota's hybrid powertrain, producing a claimed 270 hp. Fuel economy is said to be 27.6 miles per gallon, with a cruising range of more than 600 miles. Toyota claims both models will offer performance superior to the conventionally powered versions.

Both front- and all-wheel-drive versions will be offered. The AWD versions will feature a second electric motor to power the rear wheels. This system should save weight by eliminating the driveshaft that runs between the engine and the rear wheels. Toyota claims the Highlander Hybrid will be the first seven-passenger hybrid SUV when it goes on sale in early 2005.

I programmed my wifes car and my parents on the Genie rolling code sys. The first thing you do is press the button you want to program until it starts to flash, then press your old remote close to it. Then press the programming button on the garage door opener, run to your car and press the button you want to program. I've done this 3 or 4 times and they work everytime. Good luck and let us know if you have any problems.

If the brake fluid level is low the brake light will come on. What does the light look like that is on?

In my opinion, an extended warranty on a '01 Lexus would not be worth your money. I have had my '97 LS 400 for 5 years and used the CPO warranty a couple times in the first year or so and have not had any issues that would have been covered. Unless it's only a couple hundred, and I'm sure it's not, I would not do it. Sit back relax and enjoy your Lexus.

How do you put a picture in the post? BTW my ls430, I have put in a request to "the boss" (wife) for a LS 430. I have been told that the request will be filled in about 4 years . I guess I'll have to wait. I'll probably end up with a 2005 in 2008 B) can't wait

Hey threepwood: I would get under the car and start looking for cracked or worn out bushings. If your not a DIY (do it your self) kind of person, I would get another opinion. Did the problem start after the tires were put on, or was it there before? There are several topics here at LOC that will help you with this. I'm sure that members will come to this topic and give you pleanty to think about.

I just found a topic about vibrations and from all of the responces it sounds like your problem could be your transmission mounts. It's an inexpensive fix, around $100 parts and labor from what I read.

I wish there was a local shop that I could trust to do that type of work. I might just bring my cars to them. B) But until I find that kind of shop, I'll continue to do most of the work myself.

Don't go and take them off unless you plan on a trip to the body shop to fill the holes behind the emblems. I replaced mine a couple weeks ago and behind each emblem are 2 small holes to help aliegn the new ones. I wish I had taken them off and had the trunk repainted when I had my bumpers repainted.

Oh well, the new emblems look great and so does my paint, thanks to Steve here in the detailing area.

I'm with ya all on this. It's not about the money, it's about doing the job correctly. I have not patience with techs. that are sloppy with thier work. I've been doing my own oil changes on our vehicles ('97 LS & '04 Toy Sienna) for years now.

maybso, I would not let the 100k worry you at all. I have coworkers that have over 400k and never had any engine or trans. work done on it. He just had it repainted and it looks great! I have almost 80k on my LS and it feels and looks like brand new! B)

not to conflict what silvermate said, but I believe you can get the struts for just as low of a price as aftermarket, give or take a few bucks.

moune, I'm about to replace my struts and springs. From information that I have read here on LOC and buying the parts, the OEM struts are very competitive in price. The only after market springs that I read about lower the car about 1- 1 1/2" and I did not want that.

So, my suggestions is to stay with OEM parts

I agree with jzz30, replace both. I've had them done on my '97 LS and it took care of a few creeks and other noises.
