  1. I have a 99 GS4 and had to have a factory rim replaced. It came directly from Lexus (Toyota) and was already chrome. Factory, not sent out.
  2. Alot of hwy driving, maybe 25. Normally around 20 combined city and hwy. Never got close to 30 mpg.
  3. What is the recommended service at 75k? My dealer wants to do a whole host of fluid exchanges and check this and that for over 1k. What do you guys think?
  4. Have you considered just trading for a car that has Nav? You would probably be out a couple of grand with the trade, but it's better than trying to do a complicated install. IMO Or better yet just get a good map. :)
  5. I think the tranny will not let you over rev. If you don't shift in time it will shift for you to prevent damage.
  6. 99 GS4 75k. Minor problems: Yaw control sensor, starter. Do you guys change the oil every 3k?
  7. Lexintex, Any interest in a gtg and drive?
  8. Just curious about what you don't like about the DRL's? Couldn't you just pull the bulbs out?
  9. Just replaced the wedge bulb on my 99 GS400 to get rid of that ugly yellow DRL. It's not the main highbeam but a little bulb down in the corner of the housing. I got Polarg M4's off of ebay and they look nice. Good luck.
  10. May not really help with your quesiton, but look in your trunk on the right side and see if there is an amp there. I think the NAK upgrade included the AMP but the standard radio doesn't have it.
  11. To my knowledge the 98 and 99 did not come with a Nak system if you have the NAV. At least it was not offered when I bought my 99 GS4. The salesperson said it was NAK or NAV.
  12. I have a 99 GS4 that I bought in Oct. 98. 80k no problems. Parents had a 03 ML300 (I know, not an E55, but same family). More problems than you can imagine. Electrical, electrical, electrical. Hope this helps.
  13. I installed the Polarg M4's and they look great. It's nice to have all the headlights match. I have a 99 GS4 that I bought in 1998 and the DRL only turn on if I switch them on manually and it's just the wedge bulb, not the highbeam at 50%. Thanks, Neo for the good advice. I bought several sets, do they work anywhere else on the car.
  14. Thanks to all the folks that replied. I followed Neo's advice and my Polarg M4's came in today. I'll be changing out the bulbs tonight.
  15. Certainly the tune up might help. Do you have the VSC disabled? If you floor it with the VSC on it will not let the tires spin and will !Removed! the timing so there is less power. Also set the tranny for the power mode if you have it. I have no trouble smoking the tires when I floor the accelerator with the VSC off. Hope this helps. 16. I have a 99 GS400. Where did you get your Razors?
  17. When the lights are on at night they are very yellow compared to the HID lamps. I don't want the replace the highbeam light, just the smaller running light. I could take the bulbs out, I doubt it makes much difference whether I have them on during the day or not. If anyone knows where I can get some bulbs that give off a whiter beam, let me know. What HIDs are running? OEM? Are you talking about the wedge bulb? I don't think those are related to DRLs since DRLs are actually the highs running at 50% wattage. I use the Polarg M4s to replace the wedge bulb and they are white. I've also seen people putting M6s in but I think those run at a higher wattage than stock. Thanks, Neo. I we are talking about the same thing. It's not the primary high beam but the smaller bulb at the base of the unit that does not directly reflect. Where did you get the bulbs?
  18. Any San Antonio, Austin owners interested in a Hill Country Drive May 1st? We usually drive up to Lost Maples, have lunch walk around the shops and head home. Maybe 4-5 hours total.
  19. Yes, the L tuned s&s setup does reduce the rebound and the car corners flatter. But the downside is a very harsh ride over speed bumps and minor imperfections in the road. The approximate 1.5 inch drop does look nice. By the way this is my second set of L tuned. The first set was so bad that the dealer had to replace them after one month. Good luck in your search.

  21. I am NOT happy with the L Tuned springs and shocks.
  22. I'm looking to purchase an extreme white bulb for the daytime running lights. Mine are extremely yellow. Does anyone carry these bulbs?
  23. Just had my starter replaced at 60k for $1,200. Wondering if any other owners have had this problem.
