  1. Why didn't you go with the 430...?
  2. Yeah, unfortunately it will never burn out (it's an LED not a bulb) and it's impossible to remove unless you can take the cluster apart and break the LED itself. It's actually an SMT which is a surface mount LED, soldered directly to the main circuit board, it's not like you can screw it out or anything... It's totally possible to take the cluster apart and destroy the SMT...
  3. Pretty sure their ES is the best selling sedan... The ES is the perfect fit for the people in that market.
  4. There two approaches you can take. You can manually raise them by adjusting some bolts on the headlights themselves, or you can find the headlight leveling switch on one of the control arms, and adjust it that way to fool the car to think it needs to raise the headlights. Both are equally as effective and won't cause any problems. Personally, i'd try to locate the switch and adjust it. This assures both headlights move equally. Not sure where the switch is located on the ES, my guess on one of the control arms. It will look like a tiny arm (maybe 4") connected to another arm of equal size, between the control arm and the undercarriage of the car. It's located on the RR control arm for the Rx300, so i'd start looking there. The arm will be connected to a switch (which is like a potentiometer) which tells the computer if there's weight in the back of the car (which would raise the front end causing the lights to blind people) and counteracts this to lower the headlights. Just remove the arm completely and rotate the potentiometer until the headlights are the position you like, and leave it there... This way the car will think there's "negative" weight in the car, and will leave the headlights a little higher for you all the time.
  5. Well i can feel the scratch with my fingernail... :( If the scratch were in a paints clearcoat i would attempt to cut and buff, but i'm not sure if it would cause glare in a windshield though...
  6. What a doofus. Should have just said 'your' Lexus was in for service, but you'd be happy to tell the service manager to stop the work so you could take it to another dealership. haha yeah that would have been a funny one lol... dammit why didn't i think of that? GRR...
  7. that wouldn't affect the headlight issue too though...
  8. Totally unrelated, but in the above pic, I see your heated seat switches (looks like they're both on as they're lit up), but what are those other vertical orange lights to the right of the heated seat switches? I don't have those in my '06. Actually, what is everything in that spot. All I have are the heated seat switches. Looks like you have fog light switch? And something else to the right of the vertical orange lights too? Ha! Yes... those are all custom lol. I have both remote radar detector and laser jammer systems installed in the car, and i made some custom buttons and installed them next to the headlight washer button (wanted them to look OEM). I made them from cutting an extra headlight washer button in half, creating the two switches. I created and printed clear transparencies with radar and laser icons on them, and molded them to the front. It was a little more complicated than that, but they came out BEAUTIFUL. Then i dremeled out the hole in the wood piece (same size as the headlight washer hole) and installed the custom switches. I illuminated them with some extra bulbs to match the surroundings too.. And i replaced the cig lighter unit with one from my old Rx300 that has the light-up ring... Perfect replacement! I've gotta make a write-up on those <_< I also made a HUD display for the radar and laser- again, totally custom... When the laser goes off, i see a blue "LASER" floating on the windshield, and when the radar goes off i see a red flashing "RADAR" to it's left. I can't get the radar to go off but the laser has a default, shown here. It looks doubled but in reality the two images (from both sides of the windshield) blur into one. got pulled over one too many times with the windows down and radio too high and couldn't hear the beeping! lol I haven't made an official writeup on the HUD because it's still in the experimental stage...
  9. Thanks lemon :) I'm on winter break so i'm trying to get all my projects done before school starts again I'm in the process of another too <_<
  10. do you think i should just leave it to a glass shop? I do have some buffing experience, but for some reason i don't feel right about this :(
  11. The dealer should be able to adjust this. I know when you switch wheel size, the dealer can adjust the speedometer computer to compensate for the difference in wheel circumference. Or is the problem more consistency?
  12. I'd really like to get my hands on a used chunk of Lexus glass (from maybe a salvaged car) and do some tests... Anyone know where i could find some? lol
  13. I'm not 100% sure, but i think you need the dealer to do the programming of the chip. I know it's possible on some other lexus models (by performing some weird procedures like locking and unlocking the doors 5 times or pressing the brake 5 times...) but as far as i know, it's not possible on the 06+ Rx models... I could be totally wrong, but haven't come across any procedures for the 06+ Rx's. If you buy a used remote from ebay, you can bring it to the dealer and have them program it. This way you can avoid the actual price of the remote. The act or programming isn't that expensive... But you can ask the dealer first they'll be able to tell you for sure <_<
  14. So this is my first post on here since I recently purchased my first Lexus. I noticed the white dust on the dash after the first weekend we had the car. I would clean it and as you know it comes back. I called Rallye Lexus today and I am bringing the car in for service on Thursday. The receptionist told me she has only heard of this issue once and I will have to speak to a service rep to go over the issue. I will keep you posted to my experience with this issue and hope it gets resolved. I bought this car to keep my son and pregnant wife safe and I have to say I was pretty upset when I came across this posting over the weekend. Well, i can tell you EVERY 07-09 Rx out there is experiencing this problem, and some other models as well. My guess is that not many owners are actually complaining about it...
  15. Could it be you're accidentally hitting the "AUTO" button on the climate control panel? Sometimes hitting this button and change all sorts of settings...
  16. Hmm, a simple re-set might work. Try unplugging the car's battery, and turning the ignition to ON (like you're turning the car on) for a couple of seconds. This will erase ANY of the car's memory and might re-set the nav for you. It's worth a shot...
  17. Yeah, the door open/close sensor is built into the door lock mechanism itself. Usually it's just a button on the door jam that compresses when the door's closed, but the Lexus engineers decided to make it more difficult for the Rx300 :(
  18. The Rx300 is a beautiful car, i miss mine :(
  19. dcfish you are AWESOME... If i ever have nav problems i know who i am coming to for a replacement! lol
  20. Well i sat in one today.... not really impressive :( It looks much better in the pictures...
  21. Well if you were able to fix the lose wire, i'd leave it...
  22. Thanks for the advice. Recieved a great brice break from toyota. Regards awesome! <_<
  23. If you're going to replace the bulbs, go with Toshiba HIR bulbs. Direct replacement to the factory ones. not HID.... HIR. I have them as my DRL/High beams in my 400h. After a few minutes of being on, the special glass somehow reflects the radiation back towards the filament making them burn hotter and brighter. They're awesome!
