At 30 thousand miles, my 2013 ES350 has started to produce a new noise from the left front. It is noticeable from about 30 mph up to 50 mph sounds like the noise from a very aggressive snow tire. When I put the car in neutral and coast, the noise doesn't diminish as the engine RPMs decline..The car has Michelin Primacy MXV4s. Any guesses what this noise might be? Stan

How To Test Car Alarm?
John Stanley replied to zooomer's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
Even simpler: Roll down the driver's side window. Get out and lock the car with the key fob. Reach in from the outside and open the door with the inside door latch. That should set off the alarm. -
Gs300 Awd Tire Options

I've got 60,000 miles on my Bridgestone Serenitys on my GS 300 RWD, and am very happy with them. They are extremely quiet, and have good traction on wet pavement. -
Gs350 Dunlop Run-flat Tire Uneven Wear
John Stanley replied to Lexus Seller's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
Sorry to read about your tire problem. My OEM Yokohamas were not run flats, but they did the same thing at 15,000 miles. Yokohama tried to blame it on Lexus, but the alignment was perfect. I replaced them with Bridgestone Serenitys, and have put 40,000 miles on them without a problem. -

My 2006 GS300 RWD has 88000 miles on it, and doesn't burn a drop between oil changes. Stan -
Thanks. I'll do all of the above. Stan

Hi: I'm thinking of putting my GS 300 RWD in storage until next April. Are there issues that I should be careful about? Stan

Hi: I have a 2006 Lexus GS 300 Rear Wheel Drive. Navigation (Lexus upated 2008), Mark Levinson Sound, Heated & cooled seats, Park assist, Rear Camera, Blue Tooth, SnoTrac. Cypress Grey and Cream leather. I also have all service records since the car was new. It has 87,000 miles on it from regular travelling between Minnesota, where I bought it at Lexus of Wayzata, Chicago, and Ontario Canada. I'm retired now, with three cars, and have to thin out the fleet. $24000.00 US. Call me at 519-754-4158, or email me at stan.cox@sympatico.ca

Wanting To Buy An '06 Or Newer Gs300
John Stanley replied to esowers's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
I have a great 2006 GS 300 RWD with Nav, Mark Levinson, etc, etc., which I have driven in Canada for for 3 winters with no problem at all with Dunlop Graspics. I'm considering selling it. It's an American car which I bought in '06 at Wyzata Lexus in Minnesota. With the American Dollar at a premium against the Canadian $, you'd do pretty well. Stan -
I've had great luck with a set Bridgestone Serenity tires on my GS 300 RWD. They're comfortable, very quiet, and excellent in performance. I stopped trying to get through winter with "all weather" tires, though, and use a set of Dunlop Graspics for the winter months. Everybody I know who has run flats poor mouths them for a hard ride and low endurance. Stan

I've had similar quotes on a trade in as well. Local ads on Lexus lots are showing them at about $26000 to $28000. Stan

Mine did the same thing. One dealer diagnosed it as a ballast. The next dealer diagnosed it as a bulb. Both said that they had TSBs on it. Lexus replaced the bulb as a Customer Satisfaction gesture. Stan

I've never redlined mine. Come to think of it, I don't think it's ever seen 5000 RPM. I'll wait to see what others say before I try it. Stan

Tapping Noise From Engine
John Stanley replied to gsfan's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
Yes, that tapping sound was quite noticable just in the last very cold spell here. I haven't had it to the dealer yet, but I'm putting in some injector detergent with the next tank of gas. Since it probably won't be that cold again until next winter, I'm not sure if this will help or not. Stan -

Replacement Tires For Gs350
John Stanley replied to GoldBars's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
I too went to Bridgestone Turanza Serenity on my 06. What a huge difference between them an the Yokohamas that were OEM on the car. The Serenitys are quiet and much longer wearing. Stan -

Need Help. Bad Experience With Lexus Of Wilmington Delaware
John Stanley replied to boss_onie's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
It sounds to me like a main part of the problem is with dealer attitude. I had the opposite experience with another dealer. After I purchased the 2006 GS 300, i noticed that the paint started to peel around the sensors in the back bumper. The dealer was very accommodating, and said that they had no knowledge of any paint repair having been done prior to that. But they gave me a brand new loaner, and had it repaired at their cost, with a perfect paint colour match up. Stan -
Thinking About Joining The Club... Help!
John Stanley replied to pkp207's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
One other thing about my 06 GS 300 RWD, I've never had a problem in snow, in Ontario, or Minnesota. I put on Dunlop Graspics, and use the Snow Control mode and common sense. Stan -
Thinking About Joining The Club... Help!
John Stanley replied to pkp207's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
I have a 2006 GS 300 with "all the bells and whistles" except for AWD. It has 78000 miles on it, and remains an excellent car. The dash rattles a little bit in extremely cold weather, but other than that, it's a quiet, beautiful car. In ordinary weather, there are no rattles. Lexus service at Lexus of Wayzata Minnesota, where I bought it, is superb. Since Minneapolis is my wife's home town, we're there a lot, so service there is no problem, even though I live in Ontario Canada. Stan
