  1. I will bump it up for ya since I do not know. I know my 98 took me about 20 minutes to do both plugs and wires.
  2. I think it is like every60K miles in the book
  3. damn, my old 97 get 22 in the city and bout 32 on the highway. maybe the computer is off, or u have a very heavy foot? but check in the manual there should be a way to reset the thing or try the dealer since it is new. ← BINGO- I hope his ES mpg is because it is new. My 98 get 23 to 25 in the city and about 30 mpg on the speedway.
  4. Online is always cheaper! :D I just found them for $47.XX online. OEM ← cheaper if it's free shipping. ← Even with shipping it will save you time and money...
  5. Online is always cheaper! :D I just found them for $47.XX online. OEM
  6. Should be. I got mine wires (OEM- Toyota) for around $44
  7. http://home.comcast.net/~94gsxr1100/lexus/lexus.htm here are mine that I installed. As noted above Phillips 6000K Ultinons.. Paid $450 I think like 2 years ago.
  8. NICE !! Acutally, I have looked at that before.....that is exactly what I would like to do. The question is, were you able to drop in the HID headlight assembly and just plug and play, or was there more involved. Also, there might be some differences between the 97 and the 2000. Also I REALLY like the Navigation System......I'm assuming that was not easy. Any info would be appreciated. ← My Phillips is plug-plug so to speak. This webpage is old, but your get the idea: http://home.comcast.net/~94gsxr1100/lexus/lexus.htm
  9. I know my 98 es did not have HIDS; but it now has Phillips 6000KUltinons for over 2 years! :D :D
  10. It does have a slot for it but if it has a filer installed is a 50-50 answer. One the flip side, by the time it took you to post your message you could have done a search on it. People are not trying to be a pain, it is just the the seach function is a powerful tool here.
  11. My 98 does not have a cabin air filter, but it has a slot of one. The filter is like $35 and is like a air filter, for an engine.
  12. No you don to have to do it now. I am doing my 98 in about 6 months. It will have about 88Kmiles on it. Just wondering how many miles per year do you put on?
  13. I changed mine at 62K miles and have no clue if the old one was bad or good. Some say Lexus has the lifetime filter...I don't buy it. Only took about 25 minutes and cost about $28 for an OEM filter.
  14. I got it here with FREE shipping! http://www.batteriesareus.com/shop/product...05f87aa0193e6a8
  15. I got the R34, or R800 is the old number, back in the summer and it fit perfectly on my 98 es. If you just flip you need to add the width of the battery to it. I am just lazy so I got the R34
  16. BINGO. I was about to say the samething!
  17. My 98 gets between 23.8 to 24.4 in town (and to work) Highway is around 28.1 to 29.7 (with cruise at 75mph). At half tank it is around 200 to 210 miles. Only use 87octane.
  18. The sludge issues affects 3.3 million cars made during 1996 to 2002 but only around 3,400 cars needed replacements. As Army stated you might be able to see it that way; but as with my 98 if I do that any oil in that area is not circulated and not any way correlated to the engine oil. The oil in that area just sits on hot metal. I would pull the dipstick and look for yellow varnish. If any the oil used in the past performed like crap I know my 98 had used dino by the looks inside the Valve covers and the dipstick. That was one reason why I use synthetics.
  19. if you have driven the car AT all, with the new cluster in, unless you reset the trip odo before you moved so much as a foot, your mileage will be off enough to get you in trouble...a few miles may seem like no big deal to you, but i almost bought an oldsmobile once that had had the odo rolled back (CARFAX to the rescue!) it actually had 259,XXX miles, and the odometer said 145,864. ← I will say this, you can stop the digital ones from what I have seen. And if you get the Lexus electrical manual you can "fix" anything. :) You only get into trouble if you sell the car. If you keep it who cares.
  20. That is one reason why I bought a Snapon MicroScan scanner.
  21. Sorry man. I will take some tonight or tomorrow. I totally forget since the wife had be doing all sorts of things today.
  22. I am not as lucky as you to have a newer Es but my 98 gets between 23.8 to 24.4 in town (and to work) and highway is around 28.1 to 29.7 (with cruise at 75mph). I have only kept track since 6-9-2002. Highway is not the offen because I hate driving on it. Too many nuts. At half tank it is around 200 to 210 miles. The most miles going to work and back was around 380 miles and the gas light was on. One of the stupid things in life you do, once, to see how long you can go. Last weeks fill up was at 260 miles and filled 10.722 galons @ $1.91 per gallon. I also do not drive hard since most times I have a coffee in the right hand since the cup holders SUCK; or on my way home from work or school and can't speed throught West Hartford, CT. It does drop a few % in the winter.
  23. I personally want to be able to choose what I want and not be mandated what I have to do. It is like gun safetys. Some love them some hate them. Give the owner the choice and I think they would be happier, since it is THEIR car.
  24. no actually its not, it looks like somebody drilled a hole in it, its perfectly round, but you did answer my question, and thats what i figured, any other opinions? i have filled holes in engine blocks (like modifying for engine swaps, not for repairs of holes in engine blocks LOL) using it, but thats a little different. any other opinions? i suppose i coudl try it, worst case scenario, it doesnt work. ← I have used it on my bike on a stupid plug that kept leaking. Used JBweld and now no leak. the Pan is right by the exhaust and get very very hot. No leak in 1.5 years.
  25. I can take a few pics if you need? ← Actually that would be great if it's no trouble for you to take some pictures. ← I will take some in the am tomorrow.
