  1. No problem SRK. Actually it is tranny fluid from a PS pump not a tranny sorry for not clarifying it. The debris is usually small bits of sludge.
  2. Which fan the one inside the engine bay run by the power steering pump or the one in front of the rad for the a/c?? If you idle that high i would say you have a vacuum leak with major carbon.
  3. Also if the spring is dead which usually only happens when they snap the corner will be lower. New shocks will only add a slight bit of increased height while the spring changes the height drastically.
  4. WWest ,SRK any other thoughts or reasonings? Here is a pic of new and old tranny fluid from a 96 LS , if you guys could please explain the colour and debris in it also? thanks
  5. No fluid leak will cause a ecu code.
  6. All you need are shocks, springs don't cause you to bottom out.
  7. The dealer should be able to add the discs they have and then acess the secret menu and change the location of it.
  8. If you are interested in seeing who showed ,take a look here from last night. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=2281320600
  9. It is your throttle body being dirty and causing the engine to be starved for air under idle. Once the carbon is removed it will stop choking the engine and not whistle. Think of the noise like breathing heavy through a straw .
  10. All seafoam threads are in general maintenance.
  11. Need to get it on a hoist to see if a bushing is shot and where.
  12. Sounds like a relay , is the car lights in auto mode?
  13. The meet is tomorrow night at 8pm Tim Horton's parking lot . It is located Kennedy and 401 behind the Rona. For all those interested there is a pre meet at 5pm Yonge and Elgin Mills at All Stars for some amazing wings. Map for tim's http://www.allstarwingsandribs.com/home.asp
  14. All 460's are shipped from Head office where the clear bra is installed by a 3rd party which i don't think is an option for Canada.
  15. Still the point being you see no problem in never changing a fluid unless there seems to be a failure. SO why does this not pertain to brake fluid? If it is animal fat as you put it, does it get subjected to the same environment as a vehicle? If it is the exact same physical properties from new to 4 years later why does it turn black after extended usage? I am not imagining things, i am taking them at face value. The car got immediately and drastically quieter. I had an annoying loud hum every morning on cold start which subsided after changing the ps fluid. Now on cold start the noise is completely gone. For some reason you find this to be comical at best? If i am also so out to lunch why has my gas millage improved after the rad cap change from 12 to 10 and with ps fluid gone from 10 -8L/100km. There have been no changes in Toronto's environment nor to my driving to work and back. Is my gas usage meter on my dash also lying to me or on crack?
  16. The brake fluid system is also a completely sealed system also but no can doubt it looses its properties which are degraded by heat .
  17. 2 completely different models the bumper will not fit.
  18. All hybrids are Japan made.
  19. I guess a few thousand LS owners who have changed there power steering fluid and found it quieter and smoother are just on crack then.
  20. Sounds like a broken dog mount which caused the intake pipe to rip and give poor MAF reading . It was probably rough under cold idle and hard acceleration.
  21. Let me know what you need, i have been to the RX and corrola/matrix plants and have more than a few friends in Toyota head office.
  22. You can still get an RX from Japan now it is all about certain features/options which are only part of the Japanse build line that is not i Canada.
  23. I never lifted the car off the ground or turned the wheel . Since i was not going to replace everything in the first shot and knew i would repeat the process in 2 weeks it will keep cleaning out the debris and old fluid . By driving it will dilute whats in there to gain an almost complete flush next time i do it.
  24. Sorry you see no reason to change you PS fluid west. With all that you had said above taken from your knowledge , I can't see why you would even ask? Who would ever think of never changing engine oil until it fails.
  25. No Lexus is made in America. Only one model is made outside of Japan and it is the RX in Ontario Canada. The vehicles are made to the exact same specs. the differences come in the makes of the parts that are sourced in North America. Some of the parts are not as perfectly made as the Japanese sourced ones as American companies don't seem to feel building quality is as important as the bottom line
