  1. I also did something similar, except i tried to take it to 4000 in 4th gear just to se how fast i was going. After I hit 90 (and still under 4000) mi thought i should slow down. Moral of the story: 4000 RPM's is very high for 70mph.
  2. you can get a silencer.
  3. I have a 1993 Lexus GS300 silver/grey. I bought it May of 04 with 120k miles on it, all maintence done through lexus with records (it was nice being able to check the car's history so painlessly on the internet). It was in excellent condition when i bought it, everything in perfect working condition, leather in great shape. I am the third owner, the first only drove it for 20k miles, and the middle-aged lady I bought it from had driven it for the last 100k miles with oil changes every 3k. I bought it a couple weeks before I turned 16 and got my license, had the windows tinted 20% all the way around and picked up a set of perfect condition Is300 wheels with a set of practically new kumho's for $450 shipped!! (a pretty good steal). Nothing has yet to go wrong with the car, and the most major repair that has been done is a window motor because the for sale sign accidentally got rolled down in it. I bought the car for $6,000 while the blue book was around 8k. The performance is decent(on the highway esp., passes with ease), but the car is nothing but scary to drive fast around corners, the high revving motor spins the rear tires around corners with no problem at all, that combined with the fact that it weighs almost 4k lbs has scared me more than a few times. the car was bought from an investment perspective, hoping to lose little to no value. It drives great, and anyways, you can hardly go wrong for $6,000 for a mint condition lexus, with one of the best toyota motor's (reliability, power holding ability, and overall potential) ever produced.
  4. S2000 with comptech supercharger. 13 psi @ 9500 RPM's is fun :)
  5. is the SC's fifth gear really that short? surely not...? it just seems that 4000 in 5th should be a little faster than 70.
  6. my GS is a quite a bit lower than that, and im quite sure it has the same gear ratios. Is your O/D off??
  7. Thats a very nice car you have there mark. perfect selection of mods for that car oh, and yea, I would choose the lexus hands down. Could you really see yourself regretting choosing a lexus in the long run? Not me!
  8. the n1 will be quite loud IMO, but you chose good reputable parts so the gains might not be THAT noticable, but will help a TON if you're wanting to push a lot of power down the road..
  9. Personally, I would just turbo the 2jz thats in it. The swap is sooo much money, and it wont even be fast with the stock supra motor. So you have to anticipate modding the GTE, which can be expensive when using the RIGHT parts...but I dont know of another motor that yields better numbers after mods than the 2jz-GTE
  10. yea Pops, cus my generation doesnt know what work is... I am 16 and I paid cash that I earned for my lexus. And in a few years, its not even going to be hard to get what I paid or more for it...sounds like an investment, not just a flashy car...even if it is your first.
  11. The car is just too heavy...you really need a LOT of power to make it move
  12. you could always just polish your wheels, or buy another set and then polish those(I picked up a set of IS300 wheels in perfect condition with a set of kumho's for $450, they're pretty cheap rims). That would be a lot cheaper than getting them chrome, and i have yet to see them made in chrome. Its around $50 a wheel to polish them, around here anyways.
  13. they are available and they pop off if you dont want them on there anymore
  14. Those modifications show little power gains to the wheels...the 2jz is not meant to be NA...
  15. are those the JDM headlights? I thought the JDM ones had clear corners??
  16. I couldnt find any civics that we're a good deal for less than my lexus... my car was nowhere near expensive
  17. are the turbos sequintial(sp?) or true? Is there a reason why you didnt convert to single turbo when the motor was out? What transmission are you using? That is the cleanest 2jzGTE swap I have seen in a second gen. GS. truly, nice work.
  18. I also wanted to swap the stock sub, was quickly dismayed. My local car audio whiz strongly discouraged it, but offered another idea that he had used on a 2g GS. He removed the stock sub and replaced the screen, and then installed a sub under that in a box, where as the old sub location was working as a port. He said the sound acheived with this was 10x better than putting a 10" JL free air sub in the factory place.
  19. my lexus seems to drop a bit more than usual also, but I dont think its anything to be alarmed about, I just use my AC too much.

  21. How is your ride with the intrax? personally I would sacrifice the ~.2 drop and buy from Tien or H&R or something of that nature.
