Sound System Upgrade For 2007 Rx350
RX400h replied to fly19382's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Chris, have you spoken to the folks at crutchfield.com? They are experts in recommending and supporting receivers, speakers, and amps for upgrading vehicle audio. -
The most important criteria is the overall diameter of the tire/wheel combination. It looks like your OEM wheels were 17 or 18 inches in diameter. If you currently have 17 inch wheels and wish to buy larger wheels then the tire aspect ratio will be different to maintain the same overall diameter. See: Wheels for 2007 Lexus IS250 RWD (tirerack.com) Here you can select the diameter and sort by any one of a number of variables. I suggest not buying a heavier than OEM wheel, as heavier wheels will adversely affect ride quality, braking distance, and acceleration.

Sc300 bogs down when given any power
RX400h replied to wallys3d's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Is there a timing belt or chain? Sometimes if an old timing belt skips a tooth, something like what you describe may happen. Also: Engine Backfiring The Symptom: Engine backfires when you press on the gas pedal. When you step on the gas the engine pops, spits, and backfires. Sometimes it's loud, sometimes it's not so loud. This can cause severe engine damage and/or fire under the hood. Possible Cause: Camshaft timing belt or chain has slipped. The Fix: Replace timing belt or chain. Possible Cause: Ignition timing needs adjusting. The Fix: Adjust ignition timing. Possible Cause: Spark plug wires on the wrong spark plugs. The Fix: Check firing order and place wires on the correct spark plugs. Popping/Stuttering Sounds The Symptom: Engine hesitates, and a popping sound comes from the engine. When you step on the gas, the engine bogs down or takes a second to respond. You may notice a general lack of power. The problem may occur when the engine is hot or cold or when you are low on fuel. The popping noise tells you something isn't right. Possible Cause: Dirty air filter. The Fix: Replace air filter. Possible Cause: Bad ignition wires. The Fix: Replace ignition wires. Possible Cause: Some other type of ignition problem. The Fix: Check distributor cap or rotor. Ignition module may be bad. Possible Cause: Internal engine problem. The Fix: Check compression to determine engine condition. -
The only way to know would be to remove the inside door panel. Most auto repair shops can do this if you cannot.

Here's a great place to start when choosing tires for your vehicle. (assuming you have factory-sized wheels). You can isolate tires by Summer, All-season, or Winter categories. Tire Search Results (tirerack.com)

You may want to talk to the very knowledgeable folks at Crutchfield. www.crutchfield.com

VSC stands for "Vehicle Stability Control". Your first step should be to have the code checked. A code scanner is plugged into the OBD II port that is typically below the driver's side dash and to the left. Hopefully whoever extracts the code will be able to tell you what is faulty. You can also look up the code by typing "Lexus code XXXX" into a search engine on your computer.

RX300 CLIMATE CONTROL NOT RESPONDING
RX400h replied to Deshun's topic in Audio / Video / Electronics Forums
So did everything just stop working or have these issues accumulated over time? Has the car ever been flooded? -
A heated steering wheel feature is not included, according to multiple lists I have perused. So unless any owner states otherwise, and it is not listed in your owner's manual, then I would say that it is not part of your car.

2007 RX350 FWD - Front Brake Hose
RX400h replied to wtruck's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
It may require the same part number but you really should call the parts department person at your local Lexus dealership to verify. Here's the diagram for the Canada-built RX: Take a look in the upper left-hand corner. -
Welcome, Cory. If your thermostat is stuck open, your coolant temperature would take much longer to reach operating temperature, if ever. Traditionally, thermostats were tested by the home mechanic by placing it into a pot of boiling water. It the thermostat stays closed, it is defective. However in your case, the thermostat would be open when you look at it (when the engine is cold), meaning that it never closed as it cooled down.

2007 ES350 aftermarket radio very faint sound, TYTO-01
RX400h replied to alex gorycki's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
Are you sure that the aftermarket radio is fully compatible with your harness and factory speaker setup? I suspect it is not. Over the years I have purchased aftermarket car audio equipment from crutchfield.com because it comes with lifetime technical help. -
2007 RX350 FWD - Front Brake Hose
RX400h replied to wtruck's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Here is a brake system diagram of a 2007 RX350. I wasn't sure where yours was manufactured. This one is for an RX350 made in Japan. There is one more country of origin. Your VIN number will reveal where your RX was made. I think the line you need to replace is circled in red. The best way to verify is to call your Lexus parts department person and ask. -
According to Consumer Reports, the best years for fairly recent LS cars are 2015 to 2017. The LS500s have been having enough issues to cause CR to rate their reliability as much worse than average.

2016 RX350 "start/drive" warning ?
RX400h replied to stangrant's topic in 16 - 18 Lexus RX350 / RX450h
Perhaps this may help: "Toyota's other new safety system is Drive-Start Control. According to the automaker, if the system senses that the wrong gear has been selected from Park while the driver is pressing on the accelerator, a warning is flashed on the dashboard and engine output is reduced "to limit a sudden start or acceleration." There are a number of scenarios where the system might kick in – for example, if a driver bumps into something while reversing, panics and shifts into a forward gear without letting up on the accelerator, DSC would take over" -

What still works on your old GS
RX400h replied to Bykfixer's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
It's funny that you hear all the time that sedans don't sell because everyone wants an SUV or a truck. GM, Ford, and Chrysler have abandoned many sedans as they claim no one wants them. Yet, I see many, many new Camrys, ES350s, ES300hes, Corollas, Mazda 3s, Subaru Integras/ Legacys, and Honda Civics and Accords. The Wall Street Journal states that Toyotas sells more vehicles than GM because Toyota has more to sell but really, it's the quality and reliability that keeps customers buying Japanese vehicles and not American, Italian, and German vehicles. How many 2004 Impalas do you see on the street? I see lots of older GS sedans out there. In that vein, I must mention that our made-in-2005 RX400h has a perfect score with electronics, although it has "only" 134,000 miles on its Odometer. Yes, everything still works perfectly. Perhaps the weather here in Southern California helps but we know that Japanese quality is real reason it has served us so well. -
Do you happen to park your car outside at night? My guess is that the ambient temperature is responsible for the seal failure. Our moonroof and seals are still perfect after 16.5 years. The weather here is bit milder, however.

Did you check to see if the fuse is blown? A multimeter can check for continuity across the fuse (or lack thereof).
