  1. I believe most auto parts stores will check your alternator for free. I'd have that done, first. If it is the alternator, you will also need to have the battery fully charged.
  2. I searched as well and came up empty. There may be a good reason why the two components are sold together.
  3. Did you go for a ride with a mechanic or service advisor at the dealership to demonstrate what you are experiencing. How many miles are on your odometer? "Sputtery" acceleration is not normal unless you have 250,000 miles on your vehicle.
  4. That sometimes indicates that either the brake fluid was not properly bled of air or the master cylinder's piston seal has been worn out or damaged by longer than usual linear travel of the piston by pushing the brake pedal to the floor when bleeding the brakes. Hopefully, bleeding the air out of the brake fluid is all that is needed.
  5. Did you find new bearings? Most auto parts stores do not carry them for the rear. If you have to buy both, rockauto.com has some great prices. If you do find the bearing, you may need a hydraulic press and special tools.
  6. Ordinarily I would ask the dealership salesperson if I could try out the same model vehicle to compare. However, you may not be able to if inventory is low, as it is as many dealerships.
  7. Does the car stop suddenly? Has anyone looked at the brakes, themselves?
  8. You may want to take a look at these postings: No beeping when locking/unlocking doors? | Lexus IS Forum (my.is) Are your doors locking via the remote?
  9. It seems as it it has to be one or the other. See 30MM TOYOTA/LEXUS FRONT AXLE LOCKNUT REMOVER KIT MST6438 | Matco Tools This one lists 2007 and later RX350s.
  10. How about these?: 2008 Lexus RX350 JPP Parts - LexusPartsNow.com
  11. Les, It's always good to have a plan and things to which you can look forward. My advice is to not limit yourself to one vehicle over a span of many, many years if you are getting up there in age. Having at least two vehicles at a time takes away the eventual boredom that is inevitable with one vehicle. I had an uncle who leased a different car every few years. He once had a Datsun 240Z and a 1981 Mazda RX7. No one ever thought he wasn't enjoying his "rides" and life in general. 😏
  12. You may want to search for a wiring diagram. When you checked for 5 volts, was the ignition switch on the on position/car was running?
  13. You're correct, Les. 0-60 MPH races are rarely seen or done anymore. I've owned a couple of fast cars in my life - a 1968 Corvette and a 2001 Corvette. I haven't owned a vehicle as fast as either of them since 2014. My MX5 Miata is not fast but it is soooo much fun. But I still yearn for something that is fast, once again. I'm seriously thinking of getting either a Lexus LC500h, LC500, or a Lotus Emira when I start collecting SSI. That's not too far off. 🙂 I have been renting super-fast cars via Turo but each was for 24 hours only. The fastest so far had been a 2019 McLaren 570S Spider. The 2020 Porsche 911 4S Cabriolet was also very fast but it was not as attention-getting as the McLaren. I don't think I will ever voluntarily sign up to allow my insurance to monitor my driving, even if it means getting a slight discount. But hey, you should consider renting an uncommon sportscar every so often, kind of like a bucket list box to check off. Your insurance company will cover you but they don't need to know when you are renting the car as long as your policy is up to date.
  14. It looks like the front tires are narrower and smaller in diameter than the rears. The 18-inch wheels that were available for upper trim levels used tires of size 225/40/18 for the front and 255/40/18 for the rear. I would think that the wheel width for the front is narrower than those for the rear. Your car may have 17-inch wheels and tires. If I were you, I'd check with the folks at tirerack: Call 888-541-1777
  15. That's a good question. I am not certain. A Lexus parts person should be able to tell by the factory assembly drawing
  16. The best way to ensure failure of a glue joint is to NOT thoroughly clean the surfaces that are bonded together. Sometimes mechanical abrasion of the surfaces is also required after liquid (alcohol, perhaps) cleaning and prior to another liquid cleaning. You could get the part number of the clips on a website like this one: Front Bumper & Bumper Stay - 2017 Lexus ES350 (lexuspartsnow.com) Then you can order them this way or call your closest dealership (not sure if the Camry clips are the same) to see if you can pick them up there. I think it's worth a try to repair it, yourself.
  17. You did say that you found errors in the contract. So now your Lexus was undriveable? What exactly happened?
  18. I would hope that it is not common practice. Did you try speaking with Lexus USA Customer service? If this number is not correct, perhaps they can give you the most direct number. Customer Service: (844) 271-2622 24-Hour Application Center
  19. You're welcome. You may want to call first and then possibly visit a Lexus dealership parts department. The parts person should be able to tell you (by phone), definitively if your car has a fuel filter in the engine bay. If so, he or she should be able to show you (in person) exactly where it is located and even print a copy of an exploded assembly image.
  20. Have you seen this list of possible causes of engine hesitation/Random Cylinder Misfire Condition P0300 LEXUS code possible causes Faulty spark plug (s).....x Faulty ignition coil (s).....x Clogged or faulty fuel injector (s) Intake air leak Fuel injectors harness is open or shorted Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection Ignition coils harness is open or shorted Ignition coils circuit poor electrical connection Insufficient cylinders compression Incorrect fuel pressure
