  1. Yes the A.C will work with the lcd damaged. Mine was all black and always pumped nice and cold A.C. :D
  2. Hey Acf can you run my vin #JT8UF11E3M0094038. e-maill lexlecio@optonline.net Thanks man.
  3. Travieso that doesn't sound good to me. I took a long distant trip of 400 miles and when the trip was over I still had a quarter of a tank. I think i could have gotten 500 miles out of it. I have a 91 ls 400. You definatley need a tune up.
  4. Hi Travieso and welcome. Out of curiosity how many miles did you get out of a full tank of gas. Also, usually when the cats go bad you lose allot of power.
  5. Hi Budair and welcome. First thing I would do is check to see if power is reaching the mirrors themselves. You may be getting power to the switch but, is the switch sending power to the mirrors? I don't know about cleaning them but, I guess it wouldn't hurt. Your option could be to check junkyards the motor may be similar to other toyotas if they dont have a lexus. The other issue about the climate control is a common problem. I bought my Lcd from Mikado and am very happy with it. I did the installation myself and it works great. The valve adjustment is a bit complex and I have not done it on mine yet. Measurments need to be taken and then depending on the measurement the shim gets put in. My clicking is not loud but I may be doing it soon. Well good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask. :D
  6. Sounds like you have more than one problem. The overheating problem is strange because my fans rarely turn on. I have left my car runing for a long time and the fans never turn on but, the important thing is that my car never overheats. My car stays cool just by the main belt driven fan working. You should never run your car without the thermostat you can do other damage. The missing part does sound like all the cylinders aren't firing. It could be a bad coil but I would first check to see which cylinders aren't firing. You can do so by pulling each wire individually and check which one does not have spark. One of your wires may be bad. Take this procedure slowly don't rush it. You should be able to find the problem. If all cylinders are firing it could be a vaccum leak. Good luck. B)
  7. The name of the busted blue part is a BVSV. Sorry I dont know what the initials mean but it is a BVSV. Good luck.
  8. Sorry I got you the answer so late. I just logged in a little while ago. I'm glad you got it out.
  9. I am looking at my repair manual and it does say that it can be difficult to remove. Assuming you have already removed all the bolts then the manual just says to install a screwdriver into one of the bolt holes and pry. Sorry, I would put a picture from the manual up but, I don't know how to do so.
  10. The lcd on the radio seems to stay good on the ls400. The radio and climate control are made by different companies. I'm guessing that the lcd was also made by different companies and the company that made the one for the radio did a better job. I heard that the problem with the lcd on the climate control is that the liquid crystal leaks out. The radio lcd doesn't seem to thave this problem.
  11. I put Dunlops on my car. Sorry, I cant remember the model of the tire. I purchased the lower ball joint at the dealer. It cost me $80 and, I do all the work on my car myself so, I put the ball joint on myself. It was very easy and man what a difference.
  12. :D Well I just wanted you all to know that the vibration on my 91 ls400 is gone. I needed a new ball joint and new tires. One of my tires had a bubble and my ball joint was no good. Now my car is back to normal without any vibrations. Man I'm glad the vibration is gone.
  13. I have bosch +2 with no problems. You probably have a bad wire. Check to make sure you put then on securely and in there correct location. I would change the wires just to make sure. Good luck <_<
  14. I don't know for sure but, if it is the same location as my 91 it is under the car towards the back, on the driver side. It is almost directly under the driver side back seat. On the 91 there is a cover that you have to take off first so that you can see it. I hope this helps.
  15. Thanks chip and 93 lsowner I guess I'll have the tires rebalanced and I'll have to have the alignment checked and all that other fun suspension stuff. 93lsowner: Where is the section on this sight that deals with this issue? I would like to read about it.
  16. I have a strange vibration in my my car that starts at about 75 mph. It seems to go away once the car stabalizes at the speed but it is strange. The vibration is a bit annoying. You can actually feel the vibration all through the car. I had all the tires balanced and the vibration still persists. Any ideas appreciated. My car is a 91 ls 400
  17. 93lsowner, have you tried ebay?
  18. Leo, how long have you had your lcd? B)
  19. 93lsowner. this is not the same as Jim walkers. There are actually noticible differences. Jim Walkers design is excellent but, I just heard that the Mikado design was the direct replacement that Lexus uses. This is why I chose the Mikado design. It looks just like the radio design.
  20. Sorry 93lsowner. I didn't notice any serial number but, i wasn't looking for one. When i sent out for my lcd they asked me to make sure i listed the year of the car and that was it. Remember all I got was the LCD, not the entire unit.
  21. The $172.00 was just for the LCD. I had to take apart the unit and have the new lcd soldered to the unit. It wasn't a hard job. It was well worth it. If anyone is going to do this themselves be very careful removing the old LCD from the front plastic. My new LCD looks excellent. Mikado wanted an extra $15.00 for them to solder the unit for me bu,t I did not want to have to wait for it to get here. :)
  22. The lcd cost $172.00 U.S.A. This was with shipping and handling included. The shipping and handling was $10.00. I will try to take a picture of if over the weekend so, that everybody can see. The procedure of taking apart the climate control was easy. The hardest part was seperating the lcd display from the climate control.
  23. Hey everybody I finally repaired my LCD with the new unit I won from EBAY. The unit that I bought is from MIkado. I am very happy with the results and now I can finally see the display for the climate control and the clock. Any questions feel free to ask. :)
  24. I agree with jp check your upper and lower ball joints. You should also check your tie rods.
  25. Thanks guys. I will check all the possibilities listed above. Thanks.
