  1. Ah I gotcha! We have the system on our Prius, but no memory seats so I guess if our system gets confused its no big deal.
  2. First step is to stop going to Pohanka... Worst dealer in metro DC...
  3. Its probably fine...but Id do it too just for peace of mind. Thats a great find! Enjoy.
  4. He's already created an account to try and get around the ban...so he won't be back.
  5. The ES250 is included in the forum, the title of the forum is 92-06 ES250/300/330. It should read 90-06...but we've just never noticed that. Not a lot of ES250 owners here, mostly because they actually didn't make that many of them, and at this point they're pretty old...
  6. Thats really all you can do. The wheels were chromed aftermarket, and thats very common. In fact you're lucky they lasted that long...
  7. I know, everythings happening so fast on this I can't keep up!!! LOL, I know Steve has been working on it, the moderators have beta tested the chatroom. I'll ask Steve about it
  8. Are you interested in detailing the car yourself or having a professional do it? If so I would ask the dealer not to prep it and either do some detailing yourself (check out the detailing forum) or take it straight to a professional you trust. Some dealers really screw up the prep... Other than that theres not much, most dealers make a nice show of it. Very enjoyable...
  9. Again, you totally miss the point. We don't care if you discuss the negatives of your vehicle. As you say, that also is the point of the forum. Our problem is that you never allow anyone else to post an opinion that is contrary to one of yours without making fun of or otherwise denigrating them. You say I discussed taste first and your right, I don't mind discussing taste, you do! I like to discuss varying tastes with my fellow LOC members. I read your post, did you read mine? All I said was I never cared for the R class and then I said if it fills your needs it fills your needs. I never said you shouldn't buy it, or like it, I just said I didn't like it. For some reason you just couldn't handle that...which I find incredible given the fact that you have posted nothing but unpopular opinions during your time here, and often defended them quite nastily. Look at this here, name calling? Come on, Enjoy your 30 day vacation from the site.
  10. Absolutely, Hyundai has been making some great cars, the Japanese need to watch them Ive s.aid it many times. I'm also always completely dissapointed in the 300. Its such a great looking car, but the interior and switchgear is so outdated and awful, and it seems so archaicly heavy and slow... To mr Harish, I am not the one that is making this personal. I have been on internet car forums for a long time my friend, I simply made an observation that pou would loose interest and you will. You have to understand, this is a Lexus enthusiast site. You're here not to get help with your issues but to use our club as a forum to complain and air your greivances. Its tiring, and once you realize you're going to meet more opposition here than support you'll get tired of it and leave. If you wanted help and to be fair, you would have been more accepting of the suggestions you were given that didn't include "file a lawsuit". You don't want help, you want blood. And having a lawyer on your side? I work with lawyers every day. Lawyers defend rapists and murderers too. Lawyers look out for themselves, you wouldn't find a lawyer that wouldn't take your case. Now don't get all bent out of shape and say I'm comparing you to a rapist or murderer, I am not. I am simply saying, having a lawyer on your side is hardly a feather in your cap. If you're as good a student of my posts as you claim to be you know I never pass on an opportunity to voice my viewpoint in discussion. If you don't want to hear from me I suggest you find another forum to post on. I suggest www.clublexus.com, I don't post there. If you ask for opinions here or post viewpoints, you have to put up with people who disagree with you. Sorry.
  11. Also bear in mind the Toyota coolant is NOT DexCool...
  12. Where in NJ do you live? You see a lot of surface rust on the underside of vehicles that live near the shore, NJ is particularly bad because most of the state is a high air salinity area even parts that are a significant distance from the beach and on top of that you have a lot of winter weather and road salt. Most of this surface rust is just that, surface rust and its not a detriment to the vehicle at all. The Lexus rust warranty is for perforation by rust, meaning that metal surfaces would have to be rusted through. Is anything under your vehicle perforated by rust? Did you have a rustproofing agent sprayed under the vehicle when it was new? How often do you wash your vehicle and do those washes include flushing of the undercarraige? Environmental means the issue is caused by the environmental qualities of the area you choose to live in. As a 2004 its almost 5 years old, and at only 16k miles it obviously doesn't get driven much. Its possible that if it sits outside and you're within 100 miles of the shore that the frame and underbody components would have significant surface rust that could have been avoided had the vehicle been washed and driven more regularly... If you upload the pictures to a hosting site like www.photobucket.com you can link to them in your posts, that way we'll be able to see what you're talking about First step in these things though is to be fair, the fact that Lexus gives their employees special deals on cars or free cars has nothing to do with your rust claim. All automotive companies do that for their employees above a certain level, its part of their compensation package. I don't work for an automotive company and my company buys cars for their executives above a certain level, my dad's company bought him his LS. Its part of these executive's compensation package. Does that mean my company doesn't care about its customers? Absolutely not, the two issues are totally seperate. So what if the guy drove off in a new LS460? It was probably his company car. Is he not allowed to make a good living and have high quality things? Maybe he said the same thing about you. Being spiteful isn't going to get you anywhere...
  13. Right...you haven't hammered the RX's look because as you just said, you like its look! If you didnt like its look, you would have. You hammered the GX and LX's look. You said the Highlander was ugly. You post all kinds of opinions, many very value judging and negative towards the vehicle and always cry foul when you get the response to those opinions that you've gotten here! This is a Lexus enthusaist's club, people here are going to prefer Lexus vehicles more often than not. Check out a MB or BMW board and you'll find the same thing. Your goal here is not to gather information about vehicles with third rows, if it were you would have said "Lexus isn't planning on bringing a third row to the RX line, what does everyone else think of other similarly sized and priced vehicles with third rows?" not "Since Lexus won't listen to their customers and don't care about us, and the GX and LX are archaic and ugly I'm going to have to buy a real car, what do you think?" Your goal was to get just the response you got here. You started right off rideculing those who don't share your opinions by saying they were lying about their fuel economy experiences. Your threads are all about your opinions, and nobody else's opinions need apply unless they're the same opinion as yours. Thats not how discussions work. If this were a thread about shirts, then the reason why you like Armani shirts and I like Calvin Klein shirts absolutely would be up for discussion. Thats the whole point. Your argument makes no sense, in one word you say tastes aren't discussable, and they you go and discuss your taste and opinions about features, ride, size, etc. You just want to post your incendiary remark, and lay back and cry foul when people disagree with you and say they have no right to, thats just not fair. You have to figure it out, people here don;t care what you buy, they just don't want you denigrating what they buy. Its your money, buy whatever you want. If you don't want to discuss the relative merits of your opinions though, don't post them on a discussion board. Write them in a MS word file and that way you can read your own viewpoints without any dissent.
  14. Tango, He'll loose interest before too long...
  15. So you would want to push the button three times as opposed to holding the brake down? Just take a little time with it, it becomes second nature You shouldn't be starting a car from the passenger seat, its not safe.
  16. Wow... I gotta say, I'd want a new car too. In the very least you should demand a warranty extension...
  17. I've just started using LXT Automotive in Rockville, www.lxtautomotive.com His website isn't much, but he does good work and is a very experienced Lexus tech.
  18. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say using non-OEM hood struts would cause any issues... As for the coolant, does anyone have a service manual for a post 98 LS that discusses the coolant?
  19. Nope to both!
  20. So you say we can discuss opinions but not taste? So I can't discuss the fact that I don't like the styling of the R class but you can hammer the RXh on...basically everything and thats okay? I get it...we can discuss whatever opinions we want...so long as they're yours. You're a trip lol. I think its an ugly vehicle, sorry. I wouldn't reccomend it to any of my friends (line from your first tirade).
  21. You shouldnt put a lot of stock in reports of unintended acceleration. If you look, there are claims against just about every car out there. The NHTSA conducts investigations and has never turned up a case where it was actually unintended acceleration and not driver error. They've investigated the ES before, not the 350 but my generation ES. It all started with a big news story about unintended acceleration in an Audi back in the early 90s, it was found to be driver error but ever since then people tend to be sensitive about it and are quick to blame small fender benders on the car "accelerating on its own". I do agree though that the '07 ES seems to have a lot of issues compared to Lexus vehicles...
  22. Cool! How do you mean unlock the doors without the key?
  23. Pohanka is an awful dealer. Take it somewhere else and work with the service manager to get the repair covered. They should at least try and swap the pads out once, Try Alexandria or Rockville.
  24. When you say the car stopped as if the brakes had been slammed on you have to understand thats not physically possible given the failure you've mentioned. You must have hit the brakes... If the engine fell completely out of the car it wouldn't just stop...the brakes would have to engage to stop the car. If you threw it in reverse or park it still wouldn't just stop... Thats a big repair, have you picked the car up? If so how does it drive?
