  1. The new ES has the semi-analine leather in the Ultra Luxury package. My car doesn't have semi-analine leather, yet the seats ARE uncoated...at least to the point where a water droplet will soak in.
  2. Really? It does on the ES...at least my ES. Maybe its the GS460 that has the uncoated leather, it does have upgrade leather.
  3. I have plenty of things to be grouchy about, testosterone is the least of my worries ;)
  4. Thats standard dealer M.O., they do what generally worked in the past. Dealers aren't very good with the whole "troubleshooting" deal.
  5. I don't think that looks bad for 1500 miles. I consider normal washing once a week, maybe once every two weeks. If I didn't wash my ES for 1500 miles, the front wheels would look similar.
  6. Everything seems totally normal today...
  7. And now it works again...
  8. Its very similar. The benefits of the V8 over the V6 are that the V8 is more refined and has more torque, so where by the numbers the 350 may hit 60 first, the 430 feels more powerful down in the low end. Personally? If the cost difference wasn't a lot used I'd take the V8 every time. If I were purchasing a new GS though, I wouldn't even think about the V8, its too similar in cost to the LS.
  9. The GS interior is all leather, and it is not vinyl coated leather, its uncoated leather. Auto manufacturers generally use vinyl on seat parts that don't get touched (the back of seats) but the seating surfaces, the armrest, the steering wheel, the shift knob, the door inserts, and the console base are all leather. The LS for instance won't have any more leather than a GS unless it has the upgraded interior package.
  10. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful or sarcastic at all, I simply said that was fine as long as you realize the manufacturer specifies that you should not do specifically what you were doing. Just because you state you run an extended interval doesn't mean you realize that Lexus specifically states that you should not increase intervals when using synthetic oils in their cars, they say that exactly in a disclaimer. Other manufacturers don't say that.
  11. I agree 100%
  12. Yeah its very strange...I'll play with the other settings tomorrow.
  13. What a surprise, I was right ;)
  14. Blayd, don't you have an older LS and not an 07+ LS600hL? If your speedometer is off by 30MPH thats a completely different issue than the one this member is having. You may want to post your question in the LS460 forum Sandy, not a whole lot of LS600 hybrid owners here, but a good many LS460 owners who will have the radar cruise and might be able to help you.
  15. 1000 bucks...can't buy much better with that...I don't see why not.
  16. I don't know how far the dealer is from you but in a pinch you can go ahead and have someone else replace the battery and take the old one to Lexus when you get the chance and they should re-imburse you for your out of pocket costs under warranty. Thats what I would do if you need to take your trip to NY before you get to a Lexus dealer...
  17. Howdy again, During the A/C failure I also noticed the driver's side rear window isn't working. You can hear the motor "click" when you press the switch, but the window won't roll down. Again...fuses are fine... Any suggestions on that?
  18. Hey gang... Today I noticed that the A/C didn't seem to be blowing as hard as it normally does, the air is still plenty cold but its like the fan isn't running as hard. Then all of a sudden, I stopped for gas and fired it back up and it wasn't blowing at all. After about 10 minutes it came back and blew a little puff of white smoke out of the vents and its back to working but at diminished fan capacity. No A/C blinking fault light...fuses are fine, no obstruction in the cowl or at the filter. Any ideas?
  19. Absolutely... What does it smell like, can you describe it a little better?
  20. Anything that you can use for paint you can use for the wood.
  21. Okie doke, If you don't want feedback and opinions based on your maintenance practices then don't post them on a public forum. The entire point of a discussion forum is to discuss things. If you are going to be nasty when someone posts feedback on what you're doing, I don't think a discussion forum is where you want to be. If you post here, you will be respectful of the posts your fellow members post in response to your statements or you won't post here any longer.
  22. Bear in mind that upgrade is only version 2004, they stopped making updates for that system after that.
  23. Yeah really...that'll be a great buy for somebody... I'm with Jim, I'd never be able to go to an IS from an LS...
  24. What did you think of the DTS? I have to say that I've always loved the styling even though most people don't! Thanks for the write-up on the MKS. I think they are great looking cars, and it's good to hear they are well built too! I like the DTS a lot. Cadillac still stuggles in the interior quality department an thats more evident in the DTS than in the STS or CTS, mainly because its an older model I'm sure. I've always liked the style of the current model too.
  25. Yep, that looks totally normal.
