  1. I think the Genesis has a ways to go before it can be a real competitor, yet there is no doubt in my mind they will get there if that is what they want. I think a wise step would be to make safety a big issue. Now their primary issue seems to be price. If they get their customer service up to the standards I have experienced with Lexus that will be a step in the right direction too. After twenty years of belonging to the German camp I am finished. The last straw was the unacceptable side impact crash test results of the new Mercedes and BMW. The results are shameful for cars of that price range and with their pedigrees. I have been impressed with the ownership experience a friend of mine has had with an A8. The important factors for me when considering a car are safety and comfort. Fit and finish is also an important factor. Image is not a selling point for me. It will be interesting to watch the Genesis develop just as it was with Lexus. David
  2. I understand there are air filters for cars equipped with A/C seats. Has anyone had any experience with changing these and the air filters found around the rear door jams? Thanks, David 2006 LS430 Ultra
  3. I have only recently joined the Lexus camp. I still know so little about these cars. My past twenty plus years experience in the Mercedes club I heard many say they always wanted to move there car at least until the seat belt reminder stopped in an effort to let the oil pressue stabilize. Many believe oil pressue is the key not so much the engine temp. At the very least warming up can't hurt.
  4. Last Friday I too purchased a certified LS430 Ultra. My car is an 06. I spent some time in my shop with the car making sure all was good. I discovered the cabin filters had not be changed by the dealership as I was told. I don't believe the rear cabin filter had ever been changed. I have an idea some dealerships could over look them due to how few Ultra's they might have come through. I hope you enjoy your car. I like the color you describe.
  5. Is there a way to get rid of the caution screen that appears on the navigation monitor each time you start the car? I have just turned off the system until finding a way. I have been told of some after market sources but would like to hear from those of you who have already done this. Thanks, David 2006 LS430
  6. Hello, I have a 2006 LS430. Is there any way to adjust the brightness of the orange light found in each passenger's floor area. The interior of my car is black and I really need more light to see anything I might possibly drop. Thanks.
  7. How easy is it to get to the oil filter on a 2006 LS430? Is it the normal spin on filter or is it a filter enclosed in a housing like the 07 RX350 has? Is there a belly pan to remove? Thanks, DW
  8. Hi friends, Are there any sources on line where I could find out what where the standard and optional features of LX past models? Thank you, David
