  1. Use Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (Pink in colour) only. It is already pre-mixed with distilled water. I'm getting the coolant change done this coming weekend on my 2005 ES.
  2. Picked up my car from the selling dealer on Saturday (left the car the whole week). I am happy to report that almost all (a couple very minor items still outstanding mind you) of my concerns have been addressed for no charge... - Rear bumper painted & looks great! - Had a large stone chip on the bottom moulding of the drivers side door that was re-painted - Car was completely Re-CPO'd & even though they passed the CPO inspection, they decided to put new front pads on for me (the rear rotors & pads were replaced already last month). - New rear fender linings installed - All weather mats replaced (on order) as they gave me a set for the RX originally! - They are switching 2 of my alloys which were pretty badly chipped from a careless tech & an air gun. - They agreed to pain my 4 'B' pillars when the weather gets a little nicer. - Finally, a couple of additional minor adjustments here & there. They should have delivered the car in this condition originally when I took delivery, but better late than never I guess. B)
  3. The reason they did not recommend it is our cars come with V speed rated as standard equipment. The TT in the size we need is 1 speed rating lower (H rated). You are just fine to use an H speed rated tire such as the TT without any worries (they are good for speeds up to 130 MPH vs. the V speed at 149 MPH) The top speed of the ES is 145 MPH last I checked & I doubt any of us will even come close to those speeds. ;)
  4. That could very well be sludge. Are you the original owner of the vehicle or if used, did you get all service records?
  5. Do you park your RX in a garage or is it outside? Might want to take it to your dealer & have them do a load test on the battery for starters.
  6. One thing that burns me about extended warranties (at least the one's I've had offered by the actual automakers here in Canada) is that the coverage actually overlaps the current factory warranty......it does not take effect when the original factory warranty expires for both time & mileage Why that is beats me & makes no sense to have double coverage & in effect much less time on the coverage as well at a premium price.
  7. At the bottom of the thread you want to quote....click on the "+quote" button, then click reply....& now you can type your message with the other members message attached. ;)
  8. Nice find on that ebay seller.....I've added him. :)
  9. Massive
  10. Muppets
  11. I'll second that! :)
  12. Wacky Wavy Inflatable Arm Tube Man (Family Guy)...
  13. Agreed.....and call as many dealers as you can. Might even want to speak with the sales managers directly & avoid the 'middle man'. Keep us posted.
  14. I purchased the Lexus extended warranty for my previous 2001 ES.....cost a good chunk of change & all I got out of it was a couple of rear suspension bushings. I passed on the extended warranty this time around. If all service records are up to date, I would think twice before getting it personally.....I'm not a fan either of 3rd party warranty companies.
  15. I've been told to not even bother with the TRD thermostat & just get an OE one if yours need replacing. The TRD one is not cheap either.
  16. What size tires do you need on your 350? I also have the Triple Tred's on my short list for my ES 330 & agree with your comments.....I've had several sets of them on different vehicles & they are indeed fantastic. Do you also use a set of winter tires for each vehicle? Noticed your from Denver.
  17. The vast majority of new car owners are disappointed with their OE tires (not just Lexus owners). The automakers are more concerned with lower rolling resistance tires for better fuel economy rather than a longer lasting tire that has much better traction. Richard, what size tire do you need? 215 55 17? And what exactly are you looking for with your next set?
  18. Going at the speed they were (my guess is close to 200 MPH based on what the article said) I don't think it would have made much of a difference (that was a huge tree they hit) & they were 'launched' if you will because of the steep drop at the end of the runway they went off. :(
  19. It's actually 'Loonie' ;) Bin
  20. Also, did you get service records with the car?
  21. Moved to the LS forum.
  22. I'm sure SW (and others) will chime in on the detail aspect.....I personally stay clear of armorall. It's slippery, give off a schene that reflects off the dash in the sunlight. If you want to keep the dust & such off the dash & door armrests.......I highly recommend a swiffer & put it in the glove compartment. I usually have my car professionally detailed with a paint sealant which last for a year + as mine is kept in the garage. ;)
  23. Looking good Jordan! B)
