Just bought it, two days ago.... Is that normal? I can't even see the internals from that point of view. I called the dealer and they are willing to let me change it for another vehicle if I really don't want it. By the looks of that, I don't even know how the hell the car is still running. It's a 99 with 96K miles and 1 owner, local. It also has the problem with not engaging into OD and the trac off light comes on. Other than that, it's a beautiful car. I really think that thing is sludge, but I don't know for sure. Going to dealer tomorrow at 10 Am, might go with a 2004 Jag S-type. I need a nice car for DD, don't wanna go the hoop-d way...

Ok guys, I'm not a total idiot, but is the inside of the filler cap area supposed to look like that or do I have a chronic case of sludge?

What about one of those engine flush bottles?

Hmmm.... Went out and checked. NO! The engine light does not light up when starting like the rest of them. I probably have a code and don't even know it. Will make a trip to autozone...

would using something like amsoil help in this case?

On the same note, who would have just the mag? or where can I get it other than the stealership?

no CEL at all. In fact, the only light that comes on after a while is the Trac Off light. If I'm cruising and turn off the car, shift to neutral, I can feel the torque release and engage into OD. When I crank it right up still at cruising speeds of 40 or above, and engage into D again, it will work fine and respond to all gears and OD. Weird, but I'm afraid to expect more trouble.

Well, I can't believe how long I went without joining this site. I have a 99 RX300 with 93K miles. Today, the traction control light came one, the one that marks off and it stopped shifting after 3rd gear. There is no change when I turn the OD on or off and the traction control off light comes on after I start the car and drive for a little while. Any ideas? I've read around here about the knock sensor, but why is my traction control light coming on and not my CEL? Any ideas or solutions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
