YEP, pretty dumb, and Denny I think you are wrong, 90-94 is safe 95 & up are interference.. my first (94) I bought with a blown timing belt (for cheep) at 235k miles on original belt..... replaced it & seals and bearings and drove it for several months and fell in love with Lexus... now have had 12 LS400...

if you are not into maintenance, a million miles will not interest you.. good write up SRK..

my nephew just replaced the fan pulley bracket on a 2002 LX470 with a blower on it, and I got the bracket from TRDparts4u and got a very good price on it and the belt (belt was 54$ and cost me 17$ from them ..

do a search on 94's maybe you can find some help that way..
-
no wiring # for 94, just start searching like all of us had to do at one time... you'll be surprised what you will find.. good luck.
-
sometimes a spray is not enough, if you can get inside and scratch the surface to break the oxidation, maybe you can cure the problem
on your LR did you use the master switch or the LR door switch?? just wondering..
-
tom, any report??
-
first pull the door panel off and watch the window movement when you try to raise it, see if it gets in a bind and maybe try to help it with your hand to see if it encountering any resistance. if not you probably have wiring/switch problems, oxidation happens....
-
IF it jumped time, you could have some bent valves, run a compression test... that could also make it "backfire"
-
reason it out, it takes fuel & fire at the proper time under combustion to run, what is missing..
-
thanks for the writeup, but hope I dont need it very soon..

Just a thought Billy; By far the biggest number of post for technical advice are for Lexus 2002 and older. 1998 and 1997 would set the peak. You are needed. What ever you would like to do.
Paul
Paul this thing has grown so big, and there are so many good tech guys out there that I just thought I would back off and make "some" happy, I get sorta cynical sometimes and rub folks the wrong way... but all I have read is nice stuff, not one "good riddance" so I will linger for a while and try to be nice..
thanks to all

he's new I guess but my 81 year old eyes see it also..
ok, it says
1.this carpet just lifts out
2. remove these screws
3. pry out this vent, the easiest way is to wedge from the side
4. always use nonmaring prybars like a kitchen turner
5. remove these screws
6. put your prybar at the front of the console and wedge "rearward", there are 2 locking tabs where these lines end
when youve cleared the tabs it lifts out..
