we all have our way of doing things, here is mine, I go get a gallon of Toyota dexron fluid, loosen the line at the radiator and drain out a gallon, put mine in, and 20k later, do the same thing.. works for me good luck
Dexron ? I guess the newer ones use that? For the Gen 1's Dexron is only for the power steering. Toyota type IV is for the transmission.
my ERROR I used CASTROL transmax see photo above (I was using my mind = dumb)

to answer your question YES, 98-00

sha4000 hit it head on

sorry to be slow getting back, heat was what I was referring to, I didnt elaborate since you were questioning heat, my thoughts were the INLET would be hot, and the OUTLET (going to the heater core) would not be hot since you posted lack of heat.. and you could see the range of the lever and even see it operate as you change your dials, just go to HOT and back to COLD to see it operate..

Billy not disagreeing with anyone. I'm very appreciative to have the info, and sorry to use the "its not my first rodeo"
dont you have a 92?

well back home now and all is well... I just was not interested in taking my door apart to fix it, I had more money than energy..

yep I am sitting at ParkPlace on their computer waiting for them to cut and flash my new key.. runs about 75$, I get a new uncut key off ebay with 3 button system in it and they cut and flash it for me.... one of my actuators will not do the 5 locks & unlocks to let me program it myself, but flashing sidesteps that....so I get a new key for slightly under 100$ and they wash my LS for me to keep it looking good for the old man...

thanks Bob, some of your post I don't understand, but you are good with helping others.. congrats.....
-
and very handy to have around I might add
-
Bob your post described why I could not wait to get into the 95-2000 models when everything got easier, even the starter was a pushover... that was a big jump for LS400 and I could not be happier I took it....

Similar to Subaru, it looks like it could be done without the pin, may need some studs and nuts then remove one at a time when close. If it can be seen with out removing stuff and the bolts loosened a bit at least I could see if it was working some what.
BOB, why do you have to disagree with every thing we SAY, dont you realize how intelligent all of us are?? my brains just light up my hair
(hehehe)

at least in the summer...

Oh I have done that and would. I suspect Billy would not be interested in lugging the rims to a shopping center and meet a buyer. I would never have anyone come to my house. I would of course if someone who was a long time LOC member that I could help out.
Anyone with original 15" rims who are needing new tires should certainly consider this generous offer.
Nothing against craigslist as it is one of my favorite websites. Recently bought a Valentine One for my brother and met the guy (in his new Cadillac) in a parking lot (in my new Lexus) made the deal and cruised. Many things about Virginia that make that kind of transaction more comfortable.
YEP, I will be 81 my next birthday, and I am not lugging them anywhere...

you might try doing a search or reading the stickeys

thanks, I hope I didnt mess up by doing this.. I just could not put them on craigslist, ALL the wrong people would call...

the man just told you how to do it....... SO?
go ahead, jump under it, cut the wires, do it the "easy" way...
easy billy, put the flesh down and follow the spirit....
... good luck....

Billy, I can only hope I can find a deal like your car when it comes time to buy. Well cared for regardless of mileage, priced reasonably, looking that clean, and driving right. Spring is right around the corner, I have a lot of cars to tow between now and then, and while I probably won't be spending over $3000, there are plenty of LS400's that are under $3000 out there. It'll be a matter of which ones are available at that time, which of them I can afford, and which one of those has had the best care.
Hi Alan, welcome to LOC, I really was hesitant to let it go, but it was time... we dont travel anymore and most of the time both were just in the garage... and it saves a little insurance and taxes.... I am sure the 95-97 are holding up real good. I have always thought they were the "toughest" or best Lexus has ever made, so strong, we had several but we fell in love with the 98-2000 softer ride and extra add-ons..... so we will probably drive hers until the Lord calls us home.... and speaking of Him, I have always ask Him to lead me to a real good car.... you can too.. Cheers bp

I of course would certainly pick the V8 powered LS over the 6er GS. ME 2
lets be logical about it... LS Luxury Supreme vs GS good service.....
easy decision,,, like the man said: Which ever you get, you will be thrilled.
