  1. Tirerack sucks! Why? The reason the sale for cheap because the quality almost meet the standard. It's barely defective! How to find out? After balancing the tires you will see the result with addition weight add on to the rim to balance out the tire. If the tire with poor quality with will need extra amount of weight to add on. But good quality tire only needs 1 or 2 oz of weight. So be aware of this. The last time I purchased 4 tires from tirerack I could not stand it, the damn front wheel so noisy, I thought I had problem with the wheel bearing, but not just the damn tires. The steering keeps bounce left and right while driving. After I installed the new 2 Michelle on my front wheels, now it's solve my problem but still there are noise from the back. I would never purchased try to save money on tires by buying it from Tirerack again. Michellin tires from SamClubs are great. Don't have cheap tires on your expensive car, it's not worthy. When you purchase a tire beware do some reading about Handling, Noise, Thread wear and Weather condition. This way you really know what you are paying for. Good luck,
  2. Jzz30, did you take any snap shot of your motor mount and Engine mount while you are replacing them? It would be interesting to know how to do it.
  3. It's bad to empty the tank, beside your fuel pump always has some left fuel in it and preps the next cycle. The best way to do is when replacing the filter, you want to remove the line that connects to the Out flow side of the filter first, then continue to remove the other side of the filter. In this way the gas won't plash all over you. Keep in mind, The Out flow side has lower presure than the Input flow.
  4. The auto insurance may lower the rate after you have the Lojack installed.
  5. Is there an access from pulling the back seat and try to get to it from the top instead of lift up the car and get it from underneath. Do you know, VMF?
  6. If you are going there with some Ammo then as may just get a new car 2004, don't bother to think about ECM. I heard the 2004 enhance a lot of new features on it. ;)
  7. Wow $800 buck is a lot. That $800 can be use for install all new locks around the house and install a tracking device system on the car. If the thieft stole the car then he can be find easily, plus you can find out who is the thief.
  8. Any hints where to find it? Does it locate behind the back seat? Has anyone ever done this b4. Please give me some hints where to find it and remove it. Thanks!
  9. Has anyone here ever replaced the fuel filter. The Dealership told me that it's maintaince free. Is it true?
  10. Has anyone here ever replaced the fuel filter. The Dealership told me that it's maintaince free. Is it true?
  11. jzz30, Does it need an alignment afterward?
  12. Do all your bulbs in your stereo are out? If just one of the bulb was out then it's easier to replace. I have a same problem with my radio, sometimes, all bulbs are light up, most of the time is not, I found out that by taping on the stereo. Most likely, the power supply is the problem, which causes for all the light bulb not to light up.
  13. $1100.00? Ouch! I replaced 2 new front rotors myself, and it costs about $250 for parts. Before that I had the rotor turned at Pepboys they did not do a good job of turning the rotor. Damn! the brake light indicator keeps light up. After 2 weeks driving I realized my brake system is not working properly, steering wheel is wable when breaking. Finally replaced with new rotors, then it solved the problem.
  14. Try to bleed the rear wheels that will tell you the exact the problem if your cylinder master is bad or the caliper is bad. If the caliper is bad the piston will not move at all, otherwise your master cylinder is bad. Man, master cylinder is hard to fix. I've done that on my Ford Escort, lucky got some help. But it your caliper is bad then it's easier to fix, remove the whole caliper and have Autopart rebuild it, cheaper that way then getting a new one. Master cylinder also can be rebuilt too.
  15. Well, I replaced the original steering fuild with SynPower. Preventing from mixing fluid then I have to flush out the old one completely before replacing with newer kind. I consult with parts dept. of lexus they told me to flush out the old one as much as I can.
  16. The dealer can pull out some old parts from other vehicles and told you that it came off from your car. The best way is ask them to show you the problem before they've done any work on it, in that way you really know that the bad part is there on your car.
  17. 99lsguy, I used six bottles because I had returned hose connected to empty Milk bottle. This way I can see the condition of the old fuild when I am doing the flush job. I just stop when the fluid getting clear. But watchout for dumping the new fluid in the reservior, you have to keep up with pump because when the wheel is turning the pump works much faster than usual. Best way I can suggest to people who wants to do this job. First, go to Homedepot get an flexible clear tube, it's cheap $1.20/ 7 feet long then cut about 1 foot off and replace this at the tank and don't forget to have it point upward in that way no air can get back up to your tank. The rest of the hose connects to the return hose fuild with an adapter ( you can find this adapter at Homedepot also). Don't forget the hose secure tightly before do any flushing job. Because I experienced with oil plashed everywhere in the electrical parts, then you will spend more times on cleaning it up. One more thing, limit your hose length where it disposits the old fluild into the empty bottle.
  18. I would suggest to turn your steering wheel all the way to left and hold for couple secs then same thing to right then turn off your engine, this way the pump works more effectively with get rid of all old fuild. I did it with 6 bottle with Steering Wheels PowerSyn Valvoline.
  19. Hey guys! Thanks for the info. about the hood struts. The past few months, I have been looking for this Mighty lift and finally found it at Autozone. Autozone keeps looking up as my car model LS400 '95 and told me they don't have it. This time I just gave them the part #C95029 without telling them for which car. They finally told me that they have 2 instock. I did not have a drill to loose up the ball join but I use a paper clips to peals off the inter-ring that locks the ball join and also you a plyer to pull off the rest of the ring. As soon as the ring comes off, the ball join will come right out, then pops the ball join into Mighty Lift. Now it ready to install back to car. Thanks to everyone here that contributes info about the hood struts, it's really save a lot of bucks $$
  20. I have ls400 and I don't know your car interior looks same as mine. If your switch is build into your console panel then you need to take it apart. I suggest not to pry off, you may damage the switch even more.
  21. MySypher, I am curious that how can you make your running rich? I just want to know for my future in case it may prevent me from running to same problem as you do.
  22. jzz30, 15 mins machine punch. What exactly the process there. I don't have a machine punch you think Pepboys may have it?
  23. You did a good job man! Before you changed the bushing was there a problem with your rear-end that you notices while driving? How much for the parts and how long does it take for the labor that you put in?
