its not defying anything. It just puts out more horses(however many it maybe) b\c its common sense. You said the air hole in the car is like blowing through a straw into a oven(something like that,coorect me if im wrong tohugh) well then the air box is sucking air through there and is limited to sucking that much air,the car has to work harder to suck in the same amount of air b\c its like trying to breathe through a straw.lets evn say the air going in there is colder b\c its not from the bay,sure the stock intake can hold more air now b\c its colder air but its like trying to breathe through your nose when u have a cold,to get the same amount of oxygen you have to use more energy and suck harder,then if you where to just breathe with your mouth. I dont know if this is factual or true,but this is why i think it works. i tried to explain what i meant as clear as possible,any confusions with what i wrote jsut reply:)

Resently i have noticed the brake pedal has become much harder. I know its not my brakes b\c i jsut replaced them. It brakes really good still if i press it hard enough but insteasd of being sensitive and light how it alwayts was it is now hard almost right away. Does that mean i need to replace or add brake fluid?? if not what else can it be

ibe been looking at yokohoma avs dbs 2's(ultra high peromane all-season) they look good but they got a bad snow rating(5.9) which is not good considering i live in clevland and plus they are single directional whcih im guessing is worse,for regular cars purposes.or their yokahoma avid h4's(high performance all-season),they arent directional but also got bad winter rating also there are some kumho ecsta hp4 716(grand touring all-season),they are only 41! and have a good overall rating with non-dirctional threads. how are these tires? is kumho a good performance brand that ill improve handlin?? why are they so extroardinarly cheap,41 is laughhable for good wheels,even 70 is but they are selling yokohamos for that much.

hmm ,so what do you guys reccomend me to get that comes in stock lexus sizes? omething that wont make the ride rougher(or atleast not to much rougher) but woudl iincrease handeling and good quality? toyo? yokahoma? any specific model numbers that would fit my lexus? i need new tires really really soon b\c my tires are horrible,squeel at any turn thats even slightly sharp. last time i was on the highway i noticed while switching from lane to lane that it felt liek my car was hydro planing on DRY cement. turns out my back two tires where at 12 PSI :o my dad said he hasnt changed the front for about 2 years and last time he jsut put the front ones on the back so the back ones are like 4 or 5 years old funniest part is that my dad still doesnt want new tires,according to him he drives very good and smooth so he has no need for new ones :chairshot: . so gotta convince him to throw down atleast half ,thats why i wanna get them off ebay b\c i dont have too much money. same time i order tires im prabably going to order front strut bar so my handling should go up like about 3 times as good,lol.

hey im thinking of getting some toyo tires of ebay for like 60 bucks,good deal! would "15 inch TOYO Proxes FZ4 Tires 195 50 15" Tire Size: 195/50VR15 Diameter 22.6" Section width 7.8" Weight 17.0 lbs . would that fit on my stock rims 96 es 300? if not what size woudl i need??? lastly does anyone know about buying tires off of ebay,if its bad. because my dad says he thinks they are just the defects that the company cant sell at store so they sell here,is this true?

no its 188 at the crank,im guessing its somewher around 160 a the wheels. umm well im pretty sure they do make one for the is300,but if i was u i would just get a cold air intake b\c alot of companies make cold air intakes for the is300

yes i did,it wasnt too bad though. but like my friend has a modified eclipse and hes the one who helped me put it on and he said he thinks i got atleast 10 horses from that.so i would guess thats in combination of the fact that its a new filter plus that its a intake. i just cant get over the sound though B) so deep and so clean. Just as a future reference for when i get it dynod,prabably summer, does anyone know what the lexus comes with stock WHEEL horsepower. im guessing like 170 or 160 its around one of those. and would torque stay the same on a dyno? or is there the same kind o fdifference liek wheel torque or something. anyone know about tmy gas octane question

WOW,just got weapon r intake on my lexus es300 1996. best buy ive ever bought in a long time. First of the sound ALONE is amazing and extremely deep,got props from EVERYONE just for the sound.With the just the sound alone i wouldnt give up this intake for the world(jjust liek bbsal said i woudl say,lol) And in contrary to what skperformance said. I DEFINATLY got a huge performance gain. like i gunned it down a street from one ponit to another b4 i installed,then i did it after and like it felt much quicker,but to all those that say that can just be the adrenaline of getting something new,thats not true b\c i also ended with higher speed,on the exact same street exact same pont to poinnt. oh and also like the area where air flowed into the box is like a 4 inch by 3 plastic pipe and it just happens that like my intake is like couple inches from that ole so a lil colder air goes to it,obviously not as cold as if a cold air intake,but jsut as cold as the air boox was getting. I DEFINATLY SUGGEST THIS TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO ADD A PERFORMANCE UPGRADE TO HIS CAR. from around 1000 to 4000 rpm u dont feel too much a difference but then from like 4000 to 6500 or somewhere around there u feel the torque like just rising much faster then when it was stock. Oh and my mpg got better for sure b\c i got a quarter tank of gas b4 intake and then when i put it on i was gunning it ALOT and driving alot and right now im at one eight a tank i know usually with that much i end up with maybe like just above empty line(but this im not too sure about i think its better mpg from estamting,but im not positive about this liek i am about the performance upgrade) I do have one question thouhyg,now that i have this,do i have to fill upwith liek 93 or 91,b\c my dad always fills up withj 87. is that still fine? note: to anyone that thinks im not telling the truth ,go ahead and think that,but really,why would i lie?!?! its not liek by writing on these forums that my car got faster would actually make it faster.

im paying somewhere around 75 a month im prettty sure. im 16 full coverage,good student discount and live in clevland. but i think alot of that is b\c im really insured under my grandmas minivan thats liek a 93,but my insurance covers any car i step into so yea:)

how do some many people post what their mpg is? where do u go check it out. b\c on some other posts people write like they are getting 25 on highway and 20 on roads for example. Do you actually spend the time to fill tank up all the way and be on highway till it ends,lol(i doubt it)

hmm i think it might be a fuse if all the lights arent working,but i dont kno anything about the fuses. But if worse comes to worse you dont need to pay 1500 to get cluster replaced. Go to a junkyard and get a used cluster there and live with the different mileage(i dont kno how that would work legally though,maybe skperformance or bbsal know). You can get the manual i believe at ebay or the dealer. But about the ECT button its almost pointless,instead of shifting at like 3000 it changes at liek 5000 for when you need more power,but i think its pointless considering if you need more power then you just floor it and the tranny will automatically redline for you. Im pretty sure you can somehow open the headlight to clean it,but for more information about that id wait till skperformance answers,as he most liekly knows how to do it(howd you get so smart about the es300 skperformance! :chairshot: ) well i hoped that helped.

before i did a search and came up with nothing but just now i realized its b\c the only past 30 day function was on. so i did a search on it and i didnt find the main thread that like evry thread i found baout the button keeps reffering too but form all the small threads i got that it does nothing if ure flooring it. so if i wanted to rip off the line as fast as i could there would be nothing for me to do,other then put overdrive off. If i where gunning it whole time that wouldnt matter,but i found gunning it from start is horrible b\c tires jsut spin out for like couple seconds. Best results from the line for me is when i graduallygo to full throttle.

hmm how does the cold air box work(plus doesnt it add restriction now just like a stodk box would?? No it does not come with heat shield ,the ram air kit does though. well yea its not too bad only like 58 bucks for ram air kit. but the only thing is that b\c its open element im going to have to be carefull and always worry about whether its raining or what not,and i know my dad drives it to work the car so if i tell him hes going to need to put on the storm shield everytime it rains or snows,he will definatly never let me put it on til the cars mine(which is liek in couple months). so SK PERFORMANCE,what do you think about adding a cold air box or ram air kit,now will it be as good as acold air intake,and not be a piece of *BLEEP*?

What does the ECT button do???like i know it changes at higher rpms but when your flooring it ,it doesnt matter b\c they car will automatically redline it for you no matter if you have etc on or off. Does it actually do something else too though,b\c my friend said that its faster somehow else too not just b\c of revs.

ok thanx bbsal. hmm while im down there can i do anything else to improve how cool the engine bay is,or somehow redirect cool air to where my intake is going to be sucking......without like buying the ram kit,im saying just any tips or tricks.

well my dad just informed me that he hasnt changed the filter since he bought the car like 5 years ago,so actually when i put on the intake i will feel a huge difference,since its not only a intkae which would add a lil faster feeel but also a clean filter which will boost the horses compared to what it is now!:) I bought it on dragon intakes and they give u a free refill so after i replace this filter with the free one ,next ill definatly get k and n. skperformance: well isnt there a whole in the bay where the stock box is leading out to( i think) so now that there ill be nothing there wont air be rushing into the engine bay so it will be a lil cooler.

well ive already ordered it and i have read many many reviews of peoples and about 9 out of 10 say they have had a performance and mileage gains. Even though i belive you skperformance b\c i know u have alot of experience,but i just dont see how it wouldnt make a increase at all compared to the stock. just the fact of that it has no box restriction alone is already a bigger gain. I dont see how you can say that its worse then stock when even if it is a POS the stock is a short pipe just like that but its thinner and plasitc. For example BBSAL has it and he says he likes it.
