ok guys i couildnt find in my manual what needs to be changed at what intervals\times. so lets put it this way my fmaily has had the car since 35K. nothing has been replaced other then oil i believe, and MAYBE the spark plugs(ill ask my dad) what do u guys recommend changing,and what intervals do u usually change it(and how much does the part cost). i am notworried to much about labor costs b\c like i said i can figure out how to put it in\replace it.

ok to the one confused person. I know how to work on cars on the things ive done,which is alot BUT things i havent done i dont know,obviously if i went and looked at it i woudl figure it out but why guess and check or even look when i can find out here so i don tneed to do it unknowingly. ok well ill check the tranny fliud tomarow,and i jsut ordered a pcv valve from murrays and getting it tomarow,see if that will help. If the tranny fluid needs replacement which im sure it does shouild i wait till oil change or jsut do it now? b\c i mean next oil change is in 4K miles....

haha,yea. so where on my car can i check the tranny fluid?? i think i shouldnt have it filled with synthetic considering my car is old so it might have leaks or something that synthetic will creap through. so ure telling me i have to fully replace the tranny oil TWICE? how much will that be with regular tranny oil... im sorry for soudning so clueless,i know how to repair cars and work on them and install stuff but when it comes to things liek that that i havent done yet im clueless:)

tranny fluid?:) i have no idea. see we have only had this hca for the past maybe 30 thoasand maybe 40. we havent cahnged tranny fluid then but maye owners b4 did.. but yea i will start looking after it.

Is there a place where i can go to do a full check up. As in they dont change everything liek in a une up but just check how everything is and report to me,how much would that cost.....

hmm,well i would do a tuneup but i just dont see the point of putting in 1000 dollars into a car worth 5 thousand dollars whne theres nothing even wrong with it. if it was a more expensive car then thats another story.

how much is all that? and how would i know if any of that needs to be replaced. As i said there where NEVER any tuneups. now my dd i think did change the plugs,but i will ask him. Also if the o2 sensor was bad,wouldnt check engine light be on...

yea ill do that. ill get the pvc valve from murrays. and no as i said i jsut changed my filter. it was pretty dirty but it didnt help.just felt my car got more responsive.

hmm where can i get it?? o is this a common problem? i mean my car has been taken care of good since we got it at liek 45K but not alot of preventanance maintanance was ever done.

ok well my car has always got around 20 miles per gallon which is really bad but atleast acceptable. now recently my car just started getting around 16-18 and i changed the filter and it didnt help. What else could it be??? my car has never had a tuneup:) its got around 90K miles on it. But it has been taken care of. its a 1996. what can be causing this?? i should be getting ATLEAST 24MPG on my car :chairshot:

sory cant help you,im here to confirm that it again started wokring lik a day after and hast gave me a problem yet. it must of been some wiring froze or something from the coldness. Everything works great again.

hmm thats a good idea,so i shoudl prabably go look at a junk yard,or maybe ebay? so what about the whole instalation?

well on of my fog lights the light shattered somehow,dont know how. so now i need a new one. and ive talked to my uncle whos a dealer and her said it woud be much cheaper to get aftermarket lights. So i am jsut wondering if anyone knows any that woudl look good on an 1996 es300 also how would i go about changing it,do i need to get under the car to change the fog lights or through the blaack plastic grill or what.

i have a 96 lexus with about 85,000 miles on it its never had a tuneup,or anything like that. what would i have to do to go and check if i have any problems,liek is it gonna cost money for a diagnostic test and how much?

well even though SK will contest,i have a weapin R intake and im EXTREMELY pleased The sound is amazing.

holy sh*t! i didnt heven see my topic being pinned. Well turns out i bought all the materials but never got to putting the angel eyes on. prabably will summer time b\c its too cold outside right now:). warning on the blue lights, they look very good BUT they have MUCH worse visibility then stock lights. I remember i had the brightest lights out of all my friends, now sometimes its almost a joke of how the lights hardly help.

also the rotten egg s question u guys might be right about different brands. b\c ive only had a complaint about it one time when my friend was driving behind me. so its not lik iv e had this happen on many many instances. i was just wondering b\c if its b\c the engine is running way to lean i know thats horrible b\c at those tempaeratures fuel actually acts as a coolant. also is it normal that after lets say aggressive driving the engine bay smells alittle bit. liek nothing particular but u can smell it if u put ure nose by it.

yea vcv i prabably will do that,im a fan of working on cars. its jsut winter time and i dont feel liek freezing in the cold doing it. but as soon as summer hits im fixing up my car. and yes sk i understand that its engine bay heat but it "sucks " the air liek 4 times faster. that cools the air drastically. trying sucking in air faster as compared to slowly. also i do believe my car is running lean when in high rpm;s b\c of the intake. and that means that more air is getting to the engine which means the intake is beign effective. ....also thanks SK for continually debating with me on things liek this and not getting annoyed.....even if u have opposing views i lik debating as i always learn something......

100 dollars on tuneup?!?!?!? i was priced 600 dollars for a tuneup. sorry but i dotn believe a 6500 dollar car needs to have a 600 dollar tune up(cars salvage so the bb value is lik 7500) and yea i know its sign of cat converter but thing is it onyl happens on highway when 100% throttle,so thats why i was thinking its b\c it leans out too much.

also ,i dont see a reason using a higher octane on a es300,intake or not. it has no turbo its compression is not at anypoint close to something that would require a higher octane. putting in a higher octane is like trying to scratch a gameticket(lottery type scratch offs) with a diamond,when a nickel could of dont just as well. ...but maybe u know something on this subject i dont. if you do please explain...
