  1. Have 07 250 AWD, 60K - well maintained. Driving the car agressively for fun. All of the sudden on an off ramp ( 35 -40 mph downshift to third) the VSC light - orange- comes on (right side) then the check engine light - red- comes on Left side, and the center digital display reads "Check VSC"... Now I have had the Left side light come on when I take a turn fast - but never all this stuff light up at once. Never had any real service issues with this car before. But I turned the car off and it seems to have reset. Anyone ever have anything happen like that before. Seems fine now.
  2. I have had the same issue, but only happens with SATELLITE. Requires you to turn the car off and back on to reboot system. I consider it a SAT problem. Only happens once in a blue moon.
  3. YES. Lexus replaced my rear view mirror there is a TSIB for it I believe. That was a known issue to me when I bought the car. Easy swap out. Still vibrates somewhat.
  4. Took them two tries but they got it. The noise was coming from two/three spots. The upper door panel, the tweeter and the glove box. All taken apart and they felted the heck out of it and it's gone. Sure there are other noises elsewhere but this was a major improvement.
  5. Trina you in line to get an 2010 or 2011? The 09 had to be worn out by now! LOL
  6. Have you asked anyone about the rattle? Rattles are standard fare with late model Lexus' - that comes from the service department themselves. The GS is the worst. And the IS is know for many rattles by the manufacturer. There is the well known dashboard rattle which requires the dash to be removed and only sometimes works. I love my IS - the best styling on the road. But I am constantly having service chase the rattles - service is excellent and what will ultimately lead me back to get another. Want to find a buzz/rattle in every IS I have ever driven? Grab the area were the dash board just above the instrument cluster. There are two screws/attachment points on the under side, between your thumb and forefinger squeeze the right size attachment point and you will hear a buzzing. At some point this buzzing will start when you are driving. They fixed mine with felt tape. I just drove a 09 brand new loaner buzzing like crazy. I will probably get an 2010 - at least I know where all the rattles and buzz points are. Still the nicest car on the road - can't even count the complements I get daily.
  7. 06 - 08 Yes they will. They have two options, less dust or no squeaking. I chose the latter
  8. G-Man, Which dealer are you using for service?
  9. Just used the Black Mats on my 07IS with tan interior. LEXUS got smart after 07 with the IS and put Black Carpet in the Tan interior option - shows less dirt
  10. SW03ES You are quite correct - and that is what I did. I bought the Lexus Platinum Warranty for $1070 from my local delaer (which is the same price as the guy on-line in Greenfield MA wanted for it). Originally my local dealer wanted $1625 but they agreed to match the internet price. You are correct it is transferable and that is one of the great things about it - it adds value to the car - if I decide to sell instead of keep.
  11. It was my understanding that you can get a Lexus dealer to certify it (like a preowned) while it still had factory warranty to the CPO warranty. Yes and you must pay them for that.
  12. I think the warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles NOT 40,000
  13. I tried to replace the scratched wood trim (center console) on my IS250. Dealer wanted $1900. Heard a similar price from others. So I decide to live with it.
  14. First know exactly what you want. Then go to Edmunds.com and see what other people are paying for that trim level. That will give you a ball park. Then e-mail each dealer directly - call and get the internet sales managers name. Right in the header write "Ready to buy" then tell them exactly what you want and ask for their best price. Don't talk about color and certainly wait on things like all season weather mats - you can get that thrown in later. (You will find though that certain configurations are typical to the northeast region). Expect some to e-mail right out of the box with a crappy price. But just say you are well educated on the invoice price, dealer incentives and hold backs and e-mail back. Then play one against the other. If they ask how you are going to pay ...say "cash" - it's not part of the price negiotation. Set up financing in advance with like AAA, when it comes down to the bottom line at the dealer they often will beat AAA percentage rate. Also don't mention anything about trade-in until you have Identified the dealer. Then after you have narrowed the field down, e-mail again and ask if they can beat their competitors price. When you show up - then say ...you know I think I will trade my car. Again go to kelly blue book on the internet and edmunds - educated yourself - expect them to try to make up some money on giving you a crappy price on the trade. Know what the trade in is worth and be ready to walk if they try to mess with you (and they will). Believe me if you are asking a reasonable trade-in price walk out the door and they will come running ( if they don't and you still want to go with them - just drive around the block - they may call your cell number). Also do all of this in the week leading up to the end of the month. The key is to walk into the dealership on or close to the last day of the month. As for Boston Dealers. I like Northboro Lexus the Best, then there is another in Danvers which will play and another in Watertown. Herb Chambers in Sharon sat on their hands and didn't return e-mails or calls until my deal was done with Northboro - they have never given me a competitive price on any car I have bought. I have to say that Northboro Service is fabulous.
  15. I see. I have seen the stock car with the F suspension but that's it, that drops the 250 AWD down to the same height as the 250 rear wheel and 350 rear wheel drive I think about 2". I don't think I am likely to see it with all the goodies... the wheels (2 grand I think without the rubber), brakes, etc....talking big dollars
  16. Haven't seen a pix. But it's sitting at my local dealership Red with Black interior - looks hot! Go to Lexus website. Click on ISF - then Gallery then choice of color and it will render it for you - see link: http://www.lexus.com/?s_ocid=pdsrch
  17. TEX, I have had the car 22 months and have 48,000 miles. By 24 months I will have 50,000 (END of factory warranty which is 4 years OR 50,000 miles). The extended the warranty to 5 years or 100,000 miles, which adds three more years and 50,000 more miles to my warranty. I will hit 100,000 in two more years, or at year 4.
  18. Not a lot of response to this on the forum. But GS forum had quite a bit of info. I will tell you this. I did call the dealer they spoke about on that forum (In Central MA) and he did give me a great price of $1070 for extended to 5yr/100000 for Lexus Platinum Extended Factory Warranty (I currently have 48000). So I went back to my dealer - who really takes great care of me - they wanted $1625. I asked them to match the other guys verbal price. And they did! I am glad they did, they know that I will bring it to them for service and at the end of the day make money on the deal.
  19. Same with the IS. Service department is very very responsive. Although they can't always get it fixed - they try really hard. These cars just have some design flaws. I give the product a "B" and the service and A+
  20. Your 250 is totally covered for either the TSIB for Brake Dust or Squeaking. Just go to the dealer I chose the Squeak free pads myself - I could live with cleaning off the dust, but pulling up to a stop light and a loud squeak was embarassing...
  21. I know this was covered before, but is the extended warranty worth it? I have 48 K on my 2007 IS. I also remember someone mentioning a dealer in Greenfield MA who sold the extended warranty for less money? Opinions?
  22. Now I have had my fair share of issues with the car. But none of the ones you are speaking of. I have an 07 250 AWD. All stock rims with original factory Dunlop Tires. I too understood (after I bought the car) that the tires might only last 25K. But the surprise is this. I drive 80% highway and baby the thing like you. I have 48,000 Miles on the original tires and it looks like I will get to 60K. The only reason I had one replaced was a blow out on a pot hole (yesterday). I have had two alignments, but mostly due to pot holes again. So in short, unfortunately, I think there is something seriously wrong with your car. If you are in-warranty and the dealer is giving you blow back, go to a different dealer. The service department at my dealership had been very responsive to the variety of other issues that I have had with the car.
  23. It's kind of fixed. It had snowed so I couldn't tell. But now the streets are dry and I am pretty sure it is still there. Service dept really is good - but I am about done chasing these things. Need to spend more time making a living.... They did the fuel line service recall and messed with both doors, filled the empty tank, hand washed and charged LEXUS Corp. back $1000.00
  24. I have an 07 250 AWD. I was not aware that the car was even available with run flat - are you sure you have them? A number of people on these boards have been told by Lexus salesman that the car has run flats and it doesn't. Nevertheless, I would insist that Lexus replace all wheels.
  25. Agreed that's why I will give it one shot this time. I am driving a loaner IS with 6000 miles and it has all the same "old" rattles that I either once had or still have :)
