  1. I guess I have gotten into something contentious - my apologies. I also guess that I am not going to find out how to get rid of the 'I agree' screen. If you look at the bottom of your browser, you'll see "enter Keywords" and next to that search topic. Try there as this subject has been covered many times.
  2. It could be the new window isn't all the way in the track. What I have had to do in the past is loosen the set screws that tighten the window into the track. Then raise the window all the way. Once it has reached the top, then tighten the screws. there is a pressure sensor. If the window exceeds the amount of pressure set but the sensor, it drops the window back down because it thinks your arm or hand is in there.
  3. That's not altogether true. Denso was seperated from Toyota in 1949, but remains the cheif parts supplier and OEM part developer for Toyota, Lexus, Scion and much of it's racaing division. Much the same as AC Delco for GMC/ Chevrolet and Motorcraft for Ford.
  4. was that a real race or did they simply switch postions for the video?
  5. They are still including the 08's in the TSB, I think the TSB itself just hasn't been updated for the 250. For the 350 it has included the 08 model year. Can you link to a copy? I've yet to see a version of either TSIB that covers 08s I don't have a link, when I talked to my service guy, he acknowledged that the 08's were indeed added and they are amending the TSB. But no squeal, just brake dust, and their TSB's covered the 08's already.
  6. I think they did at one time and have since stopped making them. Something about coving up the sensors being an issue. But you might still be able to get some on Ebay, or an after market mfgr. like Colgan.

  8. Yeah that does help. Thanks! I have it settled here for everyone. The IS 250 is different than the IS 350 TSB's. For the IS 250 there is actually 2 TSB's. One for brake dust and one for a brake squealing issue. If you go to the dealer and complain of brake dust, then they replace the OEM pads with 04465-53030. If you complain about the squealing issue, then you would get 04007-35153. These are for the 250 only. For the IS 350, there is only 1 TSB and that is for the brake dust issue. In that case they would replace the OEM pads with 04465-30410. This applies to all IS 350's, GS 300, 350, and 430. This explains why everyone keeps getting differrent brake info I guess.
  9. Yeah, I'm not concerned with the 18 vs. 19 issue. they will both fit as long as you don't change the outside diameter of the tire by adjusting the aspect ratio. Although, I think if you want performance also, the 19's aren't going to help any. that's why I think the 18's are a better choice. You will still have enouph sidewall to for shoulder support of the tire. The rubbing will come from the 9.5 width of the rim. Unless you change the offset to keep them in the tire well. Which, looking that the 35 mm offset, it's going to be really close. I think you will rub on the rear. But if your ok with rolling the rear fenders, then you'll be fine. I actually think that look is awsome. And if your going to roll the fenders, then roll em once right and get 10's on the rear!!! LOL!
  10. Don't agree at all with that statement with regard to the OEM sports pedal set. One of the first things I did on my IS second gen Lux was to replace those nasty looking rubber pedals with the OEM alloy set, and yes I got them from Sewells. B) hey guys can ya'll tell me how to install them? Apart from the gas pedal they slip over the base pedal after taking off the rubber ones that fit in similar way. The gas pedal plate is attached to it's arm by a split pin...remove it to take off the rubber pedal and re-insert it to fit the new one. Most people remove the complete gas pedal assembly which makes fitting easier, but I did it in situ with a small 'G' clamp and press pin. Removal is pretty easy as it's an electronic connection, not cable (see diagram). The split pin isn't shown on the diagram, but you can see the hole in arm and pedal. i dont think i can do all that. how much would the dealer cost? Whatever the hourly rate is. The parts are $400 from the dealer (not including labor). The Sewell link that Bartkat posted shows the OEM sport pedal kit for $197.00 As long as it's a Toyota/Lexus part, the dealership will install it for you, for a fee of course. Or you can take them somewhere else and have them put on, or put them in yourself. It's not that hard at all. I think you could tackle it in less than an hour, easy!
  11. Yeah, those look ok. Are you going to roll the rear fender a bit ?

  20. Hi guys, I'm a Brit in the UK, but frequent visitor to Houston and I can tell you that it's the UK that get shafted...the car manufacturers don't call it "Treasure Island" without due cause . It looks like the 'SR' is just an option that's available with the GFX bodykit, as everything else mentioned in the article is available here already, and the 204 bhp is stock for the gas powered models (the 220D oil burner has a slightly lower output). For your information I paid the equivalent of $66,000 for my full spec IS250 and then purchased the GFX kit (SMG) from Westside Lexus in Houston and hand carried it back to the UK...for the reason that the GFX kit was not then available in the UK. It is now, but only in primer coat so you pay a fortune for the parts and then have to pay extra to get them painted :( . ...and to answer the last question, the price of the IS-F in the UK is the equivalent of $103,000 believe me I prefer to be a petrolhead (gearhead) in the USA :o 66K for a IS250? and 100K for an ISF? That's insane!! Not to rub it in, but I just started liking my IS 350 even more now! ;)
