Well, I went to the Orlando car meet at Waterford Lakes on Tuesday night, and Dayum!!! There were atleast 200 cars there and everyone was saying that it was an off night because of the holidays!!! everyone I talked to said sometimes you can't find a parking spot. they hold it in front of Staples and Sports Authority along with some other stores in a strip mall, so you can imagine the size of the parking lot !!!! It starts at about 9:30 and really gets rolling around 10. Alot of nice cars there. Here are some of the pics.

Cardon Fiber hood from Seibon is 425 bucks. You can have it painted if you want, but CF is tooooooo nice to cover up.

Welcome to the LOC. PM me your email address. You didn't miss anything. The stock unit is a 2 ohm system. Most aftermarket systems are 4 ohm. So you pretty much need to replace the amp also. And if your not careful with how loud you go, you will need to replace the speakers also as they are more efficient, and don't need alot of power to push them.

It could be the connection to the battery as well. Make sure it's connected well, and give it a jump start.

Wrong forum.

Well, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen occasionally. The clutch packs are designed to slip a little in order for you to have that smooth shift. And if your one of those that shifts to Drive while the car is still rolling backwards from reverse, then the sunshell has probably taken a beating. So, it sounds like you need to bring your tranny in and it rebuilt.

Ok, new scenario. This is gonna answer a question I have had for along time. It's very apparent that everyone hates the left lane bandits. The people that just can't seem to get with the program. So, your on a 2 lane highway. The right lane has a steady pace of cars going 55-60 mph. The speed limit is 55. Your clipping along at 65-70 mph. Your with a small group of cars all going that speed. When you notice a car coming up on your rear doing say 85-90 mph. He's catching up fast, and you notice there are maybe 2 or 3 cars with him. So, do you now have to slow down and change lanes to the right to let them by? Or do you just continue until there is a large enouph space in the right lane to move over without having to slow down, which may mean they'll have to wait for awhile, maybe 8 or 10 miles down. Or is there a line that says I'm going fast enouph to be in this lane, and for those who want to go even faster than that will just have to find a way around you?

Sewell Lexus Of Ft. Worth, Tx....thumbs Down!
smooth1 replied to texagun's topic in Dealers & Pricing Forums
No kidding. The fact that they ended up paying for part of it shows that, contrary to the title of this thread, Sewell bent over backwards to satisfy an absurd customer. I completely disagree." We'll pay for half." as some gesture is stupid. If there is even a question about something like this, they should allways lean in favor of the customer. It's not like there was undeniable evidence of a rock causing this issue. And, not being a judge of anyone's character, I think you should allways assume the customer is telling the truth. Especially in a case like this. Because for them to say that a pinpoint chip caused it to crack is like saying that 1900 windshield is crap to begin with! Come on, how many rocks have hit your windshield without cracking the whole damn thing in half? I know, it could have hit it just right to cause it, but if a customer who just bought a new LS from me, with 13,000 miles on it brought it in and said This just happened overnight, it wasn't there, and now it is, I would have the car brought into service, pull the trim off, and investigate the cause. If there was even a hint that it was a mfgr. issue, it's replaced, a happy customer goes back on the road, notes are made about the issue, we move on. Now instead, you have an upset customer, who is talking about his bad expereince to all his freinds and on the Lexus forums, you have a BBB file report, and the owner had to get involved and the customer still got his windshield replaced. yeah, that's bending over backwards alright... <_< I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I applaud your conviction in standing up for what you believe is right. It's people like you that make other peoples warrentee claims get processed the way they should be, and keeps big business from making substandard products. I'm sure they will remember this the next time someone goes in there with the same problem. -
How Do U Get The Best Out Of The Auto Tranny When Racing?
smooth1 replied to Jesus954's topic in 01 - 06 Lexus IS300
Yeah, it won't. We talked about this before. Modifying isn't about any one or two mods. It's stacking them together and getting them to work together in order to achieve that custom look, or real difference in hp. Even a turbo by itself isn't good. You have to add the intercooler, Wideband, boost controller, boost gauge, and so on. So, I think you keep looking at the whole marathon, instead of just the next step. A couple hundred bucks here, a good deal there, a few hundred after that, and the next thing you know, -------------------------------------> or over here going faster! :) , and lookin good doin it!! How Do U Get The Best Out Of The Auto Tranny When Racing?
smooth1 replied to Jesus954's topic in 01 - 06 Lexus IS300
hehehe, Jesus bro, what's up? Well, let's keep in mind that the IS 300 is first a luxury car, and a sports car second. So, the primary function of the tranny is to shift smooth. So the clutch packs and sprags are designed to slip to allow smooth transititions thru the gears. If you upgrade the clutch packs and sprags, among a few other things, say bye-bye to that smooth shifting tranny. The second thing to remember is that the 2JZGE motor, while it produces great torque, and a descent amount of hp, by the time the motor reached about 4000 rpm, it's evident that it's out of breathe. I would try to let the car shift at 4000- 4500 rpm as opposed to letting it uselessly go all the way to 6000. The launch out of the hole is more about the torque converter than the tranny. And the stall speed is like 1700 RPM. So the motor doesn't have any time to build hp to help launch it out of the hole. It's only due the torque the motor makes that the IS 300 takes off as well as it does. Wanna launch better? Get a higher stall speed tc. If you wanna be able to go fast, you have to put the go fast stuff on the car. It's a platform engine. It's a perfect motor for building into a monster if you want, or like a wife, ( Just scares all your friends.) Otherwise, you just have to reside yourself to the fact that the IS300, isn't all that fast in stock trim. -
Welcome to the LOC. Sounds like a nice start!

Yeah, I'm running the new AEM fic as well. And I love it! It works better than any of the others Iv'e used in the past, and the tuning program is awsome. I'm still "fine" tuning, but overall everything has come out really nice. Once I figured out the plug heat range, and gaps, I now am going to get some coil boosters for a stronger spark. THen I'll be able to finish dialing in the tune from there.
