I think most newer vehicles on the road today place the intake inlet somewhere where it sucks cold air. Most that I've seen anyway.

I would also like to know if it's worth it to get the Dragon over the lextreme rebuilds. Also, what stall. And I am in Rockford IL, and also wonder about a trans shop in the area.

Well, there are drums inside the rear rotors for the handbrake... Something with those maybe?

Wow, I had no idea Lexus was an acronym. Are there any performance improvement/decrease as far as power and speed with those condensator things?

Mine is a 1993 SC400. If I drive somewhat normally, I can go a week on $70 in gas. I drive 45 miles each day for work round trip, then weekend driving. As far as repairs, only thing I've fixed so far is one new brake rotor in the back, it was about $30 for the part, put it on myself. My PS pump is leaking, and Lexus wants $475 for just the part (this is a common problem btw). I can rebuild mine for about $60 in parts, or get a rebuilt online for $2-300. That's all I know right now.

Or! What about the 5.0 400hp beast that's going in the IS-F?

Holy crap... forget the SCs! I was snooping around the concept part of the lexus site and found the IS-F... I guess it's going to be a 2008 or 2009 model? 400hp 5.0 V8, 8 speed auto, with paddle shift and user controlled torque converter lockup, and upshifts in under a tenth of a second. I need one.

Heh, keep in mind they made the SC400/300 for ten (or 9?) years. If that's any clue, it'll be 2011 or 2012 until the next generation. I would like to find myself an SC430... But they're just SO FEMININE LOOKING! Be it, the 400/300 is too, but not to the extent of the 430. Oh well.

Another thing besides power and weight to consider would be the gearing of the transmission. I have no idea if the 430 has a different trans or not, but ya.

Your SC400 is an older model (like mine) that has cornering lights where they later put fogs. At night you'll notice the left one come on with the left blinker to help you see around the corner. i think 1997 is when they change to fogs.

Yeah I dunno. With those mile you might wanna just fix it up. People tend to take really good care of these cars, so I find it rather believeable. Do a carfax on it, and it will tell you if some odometer stuff was screwy.

Wow dude. You're a lucky SOB. What year is it? How many miles? If you're a speed freak, you could sell it for a bunch of cash, and the the much more tuneable SC300. You could prolly get some decent cash for the 20s too.

Is this a good deal? Use alternator and pump from a car with 52k miles, $175 shipped. I know the local salvage yard wants $175 for the used pump alone.

My sc400 is my... one, two, three, four, five, six, SEVENTH car haha. You lucky sons of !Removed!!!! Haha, my first car was a Pontiac Fiero. Still sweet for a first car I think... But the SC400 is by far the sweetest! I'm 22 btw.
