  1. I'm picking up 2 pairs of Polk GXR4 2-way coaxial speakers tomorrow. You've already taken out your door panels so I'm guessing that you've already found some speakers and tried them out. If not, I'll let you know if these fit and work properly. Michael :)
  2. jbsmithsa, You have a '95. Try this site for help getting the panel off. http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexu...usLS400str1.htm Hope it helps. :)
  3. You should get a Lexus Owners Club sticker and apply it to the passenger side. The weight of the women attracted to it should offset the tilt. See pinned post above. :D
  4. I've seen LS400s on ebay with 225,00 miles on it. Someone also posted an article about an '89 LS400 with 500,000 miles on it and still going.
  5. I have a '93 with the Nakamichi system. Amazing sound... especially after finding out that 3 door speaker were not working. Should sound like a sound studio after I replace them. There was previous post by pwqtang and Jim Walker(lost, I presume) on replacing the speakers. I hope they read this post and give us an idea what brand and model they found that works and fits. :)
  6. You can go to the site below. It provides pictures and clear instructions on how to remove your door panels to get to the speakers. (front panels) http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexu...S400FDrPnlR.htm (rear panels) http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexu...S400RDrPnlR.htm
  7. Curt, Thanks! I too have been looking desperately for this.
  8. An LS400 cd player/changer is rare on ebay and I would not recommend it. A new one would definitely cost a lot. Try checking out this site instead: http://www.carstereohelp.com Good luck!
  9. 1994400, I also need to get my intrument cluster fixed. $175? It does not sound like it was fixed by Jim Walker (lex-pert). Did you use "duluthelectronicsmaster" of ebay? (for those interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...tem=2443682973) Please let me know. I hope you are in northern CA so I can also drive it there myself. :)
  10. G, I posted a reply on the thread titled, "Instrument Panel Blackout" We'll discuss the radio lighting issue there and leave this thread for the rattling door panel problem. :)
  11. G, Let me know if you need some info and pictures (I found a very helpful web site) on how to remove the wood trim and the panels so you can access and remove the climate control and radio unit. If you can take the radio out maybe you can figure out how to take it apart and get the bulbs replaced. :)
  12. Here's a site that helps you remove the front panel. http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexu...S400FDrPnlR.htm I was going to convert it to a powerpoint presentation but hesitated when I tried to copy the text and it gave me the "copyright" speech. Good luck! :)
  13. UCLABB, I went to their site but they only make transponder keys. Curt, I might just go for an aftermarket system - one that can also unlock the trunk remotely. Thanks guys! :)
  14. Okay. I did a search and did not find any previous topics on "remote" or "keyless" so I will start a new one. When I got my '93 LS400 it came with only one key with the integrated chip. It works and it looks like this: http://lexus-parts.com/partdetail.asp?Part...ubCategoryID=22 I can easily get a spare key made by a local locksmith but I would need advise on what to do with getting another remote unit. Would the good people of this forum please advise me on what they might do in a situation like this? 1. Buy this pair at $331 and have it programmed by the local Lexus dealer. 2. Buy this other "1993 remote" from ebay and hope that it works. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2444385737 3. Get an aftermarket alarm/remote keyless entry system. Thanks.
  15. Thank you! Again, this forum saved me a bunch. I am also having problems with my instrument cluster. The fuel gauge is not accurate and the speedometer and tachmeter does not work all the time. Getting myself psyched up to remove the panel and boards to replace the 3 capacitors mentioned in another thread (probably lost by now).
  16. Joe, You are right! It's a lot less when I checked local prices. Maybe I'll get a good deal on it on ebay in 10 years.
  17. Sweet! $94,935 but it does get 33 miles per gallon. All they need now is a link to a 30 year car loan. Thanks for the info.
