well i went back to the mechanic and they test drove it and couldn't find anything. so they took the wheel and rotor off and they noticed that the emergency brake shoes are very low and need to be changed. they checked the driver side wheel and they noticed that my rotor had four cracks in it. so i had them to put new rotors. they have to order the shoes. just giving you an update jibby since you been real helpful

well i got the studs replaced and on monday i heard a noise coming from the back passenger wheel. sounds like a squeeking rubbing of metal sound. but it goes away when i accelerate. then when i let off the gas or brake it comes back. i called the mechanic again to let him know whats going on so i have to bring the car back on saturday. does anybody have any ideas before i go back . just to have a little knowlegde so they don't screw me? thanks for any replies

very good info JIBBY. but how come when the lugs were on tight it felt like the wheel still wobbled a little bit like it wasn't pressed up against the hub of the rotor. but the lugs were on tight so thats when i thought the studs werent in all the way so i kept tighten it using a pipe for leverage it just snapped.

i was driving the car today and i felt a little shake when i was driving. i go back home and i put the jack on the back passenger wheel. after it was up i moved the wheel and it felt like the wheel wasnt pressed up to the hub tight. so i thought from when the studs broke on fathers day i thought i didnt put the new studs in all the way, so i started tighten it up more and then the stud snapped. how much would it be to have a mechanic replace the broken and non broken studs. im not looking to go to the dealer. thanks for any replies

i have a 94 with 151k on it. i did that drain and refill a while ago. can i do a tranny(purge) flush on it even though i've never done it. got the car when it had 60k.

on fathers day my girlfriend and i were driving on the highway and i felt the car started to shake. i pulled over and i noticed that three on my studs broke, why i dont know. i slow kept driving and went to auto zone. bought only four studs because thats all they had and lug nuts. we were going to her fathers house. as im making the left onto his street one more broke and the wheel locked. i was on the side of the road for 3 1/2 hours putting the studs on. my question. can lug nuts come loose on its own? i only have four studs on the wheel although it suppose to have five. will i be ok for a few days till i can put the last one on? what are the chances of the new ones breaking?

its time for me to change the ac filter in my 94 sc400. where is it located? how do i get it out? also how much is a new one? thanks

i have a pearl white sc400. i was in philadelphia and i was in a parking lot and someone backed into my car and took off. anyways i called the dealer for a price and they want 300 for the fender. i checked carpart.com but they don't have my color. do they make aftermarket fenders for the sc400? if so, how much and where to go to get it?

my cd changer doesn't play cd's. i put the cd player on and an error comes on. i push the eject button and the changer only pushes the cd half way into the magazine. what can it be? its to a 94 sc400 nakamichi.

the same thing happened to me. i just let the car warm up, then i revved it up good a couple times then i was fine. dont worry about it, it will go away. it did for me after i drove it. i have 148k

i don't know what happened just one day it just stopped working. i called lexus but they want 350 just for the light on my sc400. does anybody have an idea how to check if its the connection or if the light is bad.
