  1. yes, but in the 400, I assumed I'd be using the battery that does the electric motor?
  2. I'm assuming if I plug a cigarette lighter adapter into the power port that I would be powering off the main battery of the car, is that correct? I fly model helicopters and need probably 20 amps to charge them. over the course of an hour. Will the battery stand up to this and will I still be able to start the car? Considering the car is a hybrid, I'm guessing this should be no problem?
  3. I actually read the manual and on the side of the screen itself is the volume, one volume control on each side of the screen, why it was done like that and not through the remote is beyond me. Plus the volume control doesn't really get loud enough.
  4. I was using the Rear entertainment system while my wife and her friend drove home and I put on the wireless headset and hit the on button and then realized I could find no volume anywhere, is there a volume control? I tried the remote, I tried playing with the buttons on the unit, I looked at the headset and nothing.
  5. how do you know if your car has a problem with the A/C? Mine seems to be blowing cold on the drivers side, but of course I don't test the passenger side, maybe I should check. I do notice that it seems to be blowing colder air out of the side vent then the middle vents.
  6. didn't you have to tape over the holes or something that were left? I'm about to have the dealer take ours off as it rattles like crazy on the highway. They already replaced the center pieces and they are still lose.
  7. yea, I think I will have them check it out next time I bring it in. Radio at 36 with the ASL on both the radio and navi volume and navi volume on 7 and its still not really loud enough. Thats just rediculous. Maybe something isn't quite right.
  8. hmm, does it do it with the sunroof open or closed? When I open the sunroof, I don't hear the noise, of course I'm guessing thats because everything is louder. Its just awefully annoying in a car like this to be hearing a freaking rattling sound. If it is from the roofrack, that is just pathetic as they should have kept the old style roof rack that looks like it has much less parts to make noise.
  9. Yes there is and I always have it on, can someone figure out what it does? I sure as heck can't, you'd think it would adjust it self so you can hear over the damn radio but it doesn't. I think it does nothing pretty much what ASL seems to do on the radio.
  10. Is anyone getting roof rack noise when going around 80 on the highway. I believe its roof rack noise as that is what the tech said when we test drove it. The thing is, they have replaced both slats on the roof rack and the loner rx330 I drive didn't make the noise. I'm beginning to think its not the roof rack. Anyway, when going about 80 or so on the highway, I hear a noise like a metallic rattling sound. Its almost like wind noise but you can tell its something different. Its driving me a bit nuts. As I said, the rx330 I drove had the roof rack and didn't make the noise and I put the slats in the same position so I'm thinking its something else. The wife won't let me take it back in for a couple of months or so as she believes in the turn up the radio solution but that doesn't work for me. Especially since I have very sensitive ears. Thanks Rob
  11. We took it took it to lexus Monday night I believe it was and the valve stem was leaking on the right front tire, explains why the pressure in the right front tire was 25 instead of 32 like the rest. Clearly my wife didn't make the valve stem leak. Anyway, since we bought the car recently and its been in their shop more than at our house, they took care of the valve stem and did the alignment for no charge.
  12. blue tooth is worth it just for the safety, plus you actually know when someone is calling. I navigate pretty much everywhere, not because I don't know how to get there but because if there is traffic, an idiotic detour where they forget to put up the signs, etc, the nav will reroute me and make sure I get to where I want to go. Worked great when there was an accident on the freeway the other day, I jumped off and the nav showed me where to go.
  13. after following your instructions to the letter, it finally worked for me. Thank you.
  14. Well yes and no, 06 is lower but you are paying a lower price for it and its already taking a decent hit on depreciation. No nav equals no blue tooth. Personally, I would not want to live without that, after driving the lexus loaners without nav, nav is a must have. It routes me around traffic, it gives us bluetooth which is very useful, not to mention, you get the cool energy graph which you don't get without navigation. Plus, at resale time, its easier to sell the car with all the options.
  15. yep, turned key to on position, put in neutral like it says, held unlock for 5 seconds and nothing.
  16. yea, I tried that too, and nothing. I'm gonna try to take it to lexus this saturday I think, but it would be nice if I could do it on my own, dont really want to waste the time.
  17. well I did it like in the manual, held the unlock button like it states for a good 15 seconds and nothing.
  18. We just bought a used 06. Ours is fully loaded. From what I understand, the 07 can be had with radar cruise control(would be a must have for me), bigger screen on the rear entertainment system(whoopie), tire pressure monitors(cool but not something I can't live without) and better nav/bluetooth system. I also believe the 07 will play mp3's. Other than that I believe their are no other major changes.
  19. Right now the doors auto lock when it is taken out of park, They never unlock at all. I want to set them to the setting where it unlocks after you open the drivers door or take the key out of the ignition. My wife likes them to autounlock, especially when she is trying to use the powerdoor and can't use it because the doors are locked. I did the way it says in the manual and it won't work. Before I try to solve this for you I'd like to know what the current settings are? That is, how and/or when do the doors lock? Next, I'd be remiss if I failed to ask... why do you wish to automatically unlock any of the doors? Maybe I'm just too security conscious but I do not have any of my doors automatically unlock. I would be concerned with being stopped by a nefarious type and would want my door locks under my control regardless of gearshift lever position! Having said that, let me know how it currently operates and how (both lock and unlock) you want it to work and I will attempt to set mine up the way yours are and then the way you want them to work. The C-best settings seem difficult to set for many people (dealership personnel included)! I posted a reply sometime ago about how I managed to set mine (and demonstrated/taught my sales rep how!) I don't mind attempting but would like to start from the same position you are in which includes the 'locking' settings!
  20. I tried to set the auto unlocking as per the manual and it did nothing, I also tried the auto locking and it did nothing. Was wondering if this can be affected if the original owner did the lexus custom programming? I know he did do it and the doors auto lock but not auto unlock and they need to auto unlock. Do I have to return to the dealer or does anyone have any tricks or steps that I can try. I followed the manual and no luck.
  21. well I drove the thing tonight and it seems to be pulling hard to the right, she ran over the curb on the right side. Of course the roads are all sloped to the right here too for rain runoff so I can't tell if its just the road but I don't remember the rental 400h hybrid that I was driving last week pulling like this. I think we might take it to lexus for an alignment. I doubt my wife did anything, she said it was a small curb but we only drove the car like a day or so when we got it a couple weeks back and its been in the shop since waiting for the new roof rack so it was probably like this from day one.
  22. well wife says she just drove over a small curb going real slow. She didn't hit the rim or anything so hopefully its okay. I know its her car, but maybe I shouldn't let her drive it. Women just can't seem to get it right. ;) She can't even figure out the electronics, calls me complaining about the A/C not working because she didn't hit the right buttom. I think maybe she should stick to her Jeep wranger. she can hit everything and not break it. hehe Just kidding around of course.
  23. Wife tells me she ran over a small curb (she couldn't do this with the rental 400H right? She had to do it as soon as we get ours back) Anyway, has anyone done this and did it cause any suspension damage, frame damage etc?
  24. I notice the 2007 bluetooth seems to have more features for the phones. If I update the nav, do I get those features on my 2006 or is there no upgrade path?
  25. Biggest con for me so far is the roof rack, I don't know if anyone else notices this but it makes an incredible amount of noise while on the highway. I'm driving a loaner 400h while they get a new roof rack for ours and it is doing the same thing. This is rediculous for a car like this. Otherwise I love the car.
