My 99 corvette Vert was getting 24MPG so its pretty comparable. I can't get over around 24MPG with the 400H but my wife consistantly gets 2MPG better than me and I drive the thing like a Granny and I used to drive the Vette much less granny like. :D Then again, your mom's RX is probably faster than your car........:chairshot: Seriously, there will always be features of other cars, even in the same family, that are preferable. My Corvette seats are light-years more comfortable than the RX's seats, but the 3200 lb Corvette averages only 20 MPG vs. the 4600 lb RX's 25 MPG.

Yes, thats what mine does. I was told that it is normal by the tech. They tested my engine and it has nothing wrong with it. apparently, it depends on where it kicks on in the ignition cycle as to how much it will shutter or not. Same thing for kicking off. It does make sense though. Maybe someone will have better luck. Unlike the chevy dealer and other dealers, I do kinda believe them though. The tech told me he would love to fix something, they don't get paid if they don't have something to fix and they are the biggest lexus dealer in the world.

well I picked up the car today. We took a test drive and the tech was young and understood my passion for cars and took the time to explain a few things to me. First off, the roof rack apparently is always loose on one side because of where the release latches are. of course that means it will always rattle :( He did tell me how to slide the stupid things out though so I might do that. The privacy screen. Said he would replace it for me if I want, but that its the fabric and the new one might not be any better. I'm gonna leave it closed for now and see if its better, obviously leaving it stretched open is not doing the job. I may have him replace the screen but figured I should check this one out throroughly before doing that. They seem to want to help unlike the Chevy dealership.

I may be calling lexus corporate next as I'm getting quite aggravated. God help them if I'm standing there again for 15 minutes while they are helping customers that come in after me. This happened when I dropped the car off. I finally muttered under my breath that I was getting annoyed and the manager decided he should help me. Then of course he passed me off to someone else.

does lexus send those customer satisfaction surveys or whatever? i was thinking of going in there tonight and subtly mentioning that they won't be getting a good rating. I have to go back tonight to have the tech test drive it. Like that wouldn't have been a good idea when I was there dropping the car off? What do they say? "The squeeky Lexus gets the ...." Shmear a little silicone grease or spray, or slimy leather spray ... what ever suits your fance. Boom. Your done. To the dealer that says, "that's normal" ... I'd say, "I think I'll write to customer service to coroborate weather this is normal. See if he (while pee'ing his pants) changes his/her tune.

does it work when the armrest is up as well?

My car came with the RES remote in the rear armrest, but it bangs around in there, anyone find a better solution? I was thinking some velcro or something to hold it down?

mine is definately coming from the cover, I don't know about anyone elses. I have some other squeaks as well, but this is definately that cover making noise.

Your rattles are unacceptable if you ask me. I have one near the drivers left ear. Only over a decent bump though, but it sounds like pebbles or something rattling. I think its from the seat belt tensioner. My privacy screen is squeaking like in the tension mechanism itself. When it goes over a bump, it moves a little and squeeks. I keep it fully extended over the back cargo area. I think they should replace it and I will have a long chat tomorrow night with them. This car is too pricey to rattle. My corvette convertible had less rattles and this thing is supposed to be quiet. well if they have it in the car, it shouldn't squeak I would assume? My dealer has "lined" the areas where the cover hooks into the hatch as well as where the cover attaches over the strut towers. It has helped, but I still have other rattles that are bothering me. By "lined", I mean the put down some adhesive backed felt onto the plastic surfaces that touch. One of my rattles is comming from the front center area. Hard to say if its in the dash or the headliner because of the acousitcs from the windshield. Another is coming from the center console between the seats. Light buzzing sound under amost ANY vibration.

Problem with the metallic noise is that you can't hear it easily standing outside becuase the engine turns off, so mostly you hear it in the morning when I start the car and the engine decides to kick in. Have someone sit in the car with the shifter in Drive and give the accelator a press until the engine turns on. They can even contol the RPM to simulate it idle up when its cold. I'm assuming with the foot on the brake?

Dealer is telling me that the privacy screen squeaking is normal. I told them people on this forum have had it fixed. I have the screen stretched out over the cargo area. I'm assuming it shouldn't be squeaking over every bump. the bumpers are not against the back hatch as I know they squeak. It seems to have a squeak do to the tensioner. I'm getting a little aggravated wtih Lexus service, this is the biggest lexus dealer in the world and I feel like I'm dealing with Chevy. also, they fixed my car from pulling to the right again for the second time in 2 months. Geez, don't they think this might be more of a problem or do they plan on aligning it every two months???

Well as of now they claim there is nothing wrong. My wife who never complains about anything with a car can hear the metallic noise coming from the front and the engine stuttering is definately not acceptable on startup and turnoff.

dropped the vehicle off for service tonight 2006 rx400h so they can fix a few rattles but mainly to fix the rough engine cut on and cut off. When the engine turns off, it studders twice and finally turns off. I also hear a metallic rattle when the engine is running and i'm standing outside the car. Obviously someone else is driving while I'm outside. When the engine cuts in after being on electric, it is pretty rough too. I'm hoping they figure something out.

Lockpick can't be used if you have the RES. Yes, the lockpick permits full phone functionality while in motion. That's the reason I got it. Now that it's installed I can dial right off the screen while the car's in motion If you read up on it, you'll see that's one of the features they're advertising. They DO have a cheap version that only does the NAV, but you can do that over-ride your self (each time you need it) through the back door menues listed on posts here and elsewhere.

has anyone installed one of these ipod adapters with the RES? I know one of the companies says theirs won't work with the RES

3sticks- Could you clarify the air recirculating problem mode a bit? And what do they do on a 1500 miles service? I thought the first 1 is at 5k? is this only for the 2007? Mine doesn't act automatically and I wish it would. I can't believe people say they dont' have the roof rack noise. I can hear it with no problem. From what I've seen, most of the cars have this issue as the roof rack slats are loose.

The overide doesn't overide the phone from what I can tell so its still pretty annoying.

Was this ever fixed, they are doing this on our car now. So far, the rails they are replacing are worse than the originals.

They say that new car smell causes cancer so be glad it was gone :) They don't even use the same chemicals in Japan, they use them here because we like the smell of death :(

yes,same thing, i'm noticing rough startup as well. I don't think it should be like this.

mine when I stopped at a stoplight cut out, but it was kinda like it ran for a 1/2 second, like diesal run on or whatever its called. I just thought I read about people taking the car to the dealer to have this fixed, maybe I"m nuts.

I think there was a topic on here or another board talking about the engine feeling rough when it cuts in and out. Did anyone get this fixed? Mine shut off at the stop light yesterday and shook the car. And when it comes on, you can feel it. I didn't notice it when we first got the car a month ago, but it seems to have gotten worse.

right, that is true, but I can just leave the 400 in ready mode and it can start when it needs to in order to recharge the battery. What bothers me is I noticed 100 watts max or something like that on the accessory plug. 12 volts x 20 amps is 240 watts, I guess I can't use the acessory plug?
