i dont use emergency brake:( and i bought original lexus brake pads:( i think i'm just gonna go to my mechanic and let him check whats going on with em. its hard to find a decent mechanic these days.:)

go to your local dealer and ask him. its gonna be around 200-300$ for 2 huge books.

what if i have those chrome rims and i cant put the weithgt on the outside of the rim. but at speeds from 80 to 90 the whole car shakes and i can feel that it is coming from the front drivers wheel

my brother had the same problem in his legend, and when we traced all the relays and switches we found out that the problem is ECU. the signal from the swithch goes in to the ECU and there it goes to the couple of relays that fire up the whole AC system. when we checked all the relays, ECU didnt give any signal to any of them. i checked the schemes for my ls and i found out that lexus utilize almost the same scheme. so trace and check all of them in order to get the real cause. of course if you are sure it is electrical.

i changed brake pads more then a month ago and today after driving on a highway when i parked it in the garage i noticed a burning smell, like when u get a plastic bag on a muffler type of smell. but when i checked the whole exaust system there were no bags. i sniffed the whole car and i found out that 2 rear wheels make the smell. i noticed that all rotors are not shiny but all matt. that seems a little strange t me because i mashined them when i changed the brakes. and the smell..... any1 knows why?

the only problem you can get using sinthetic oil on the old engine is that you can get oil leaks. thats what i heard from some car enthuiasts i hang out with from time to time. i'm on a regular oil now and i'm switching to sinthetic next week. i have 125k on my engine and i will take my chanses:)

yeah get ready to pay some major $$ for your transmission rebuild, this sign lets u know that it is dying. and dying pretty fast. soon one or couple of gears will stop working at all and then u will have to take it to the transmission shop. but make sure that they give at least 3-6 month warranty. coz those rebuilt transmissions have a tendency to die pretty fast. in my old car i changed it 3 times, but after that it is still working for last 2.5 years. the reason for the transmission death is that gear teeth fall of from the gear and they either get stuck in other gears or just lack of teeth makes it impossible to put the car into gear. thats what I've been told at the shop

i beleive trucks have 4.7 L engine and the engine block is the same, jus the length of piston movement is a little bit longer. they have more torque but less hp.

pretty decent color, change rims, tint windows..... and it will be a good car

tried all of them, they all burn out after 2-3 month take MTEC, very good brand and so far no problems for 6 month

to paint whole car is around 4k and its not gonna look like factory paint.....

i changed all my lights in to bright white, not blue and it looks really good, i also changed my taillights to the "JDM" style:) i dont know if it looks better or not, i think a little bit, you can c it in the gallery. you can buy them at www.procarparts.com or on ebay

check out the gallery and take a look at my pics of my baby with clear corner lights, as to changing the bulbs, each headlight assembly has 5 screws, you unscrew all of them and move a the whole headlight out a little bit, then there is like a round lock on it, you take it out, partially remove the rubber cover and then you will have an access to change the bulb. whole procedure takes about 30-40 mins and there is nothing hard about it. just takes time.

Gs is not a better deal, as to the horsepower i know in 98 they had 300 hp for sure, 10 hp more then a regual 1UZFE from LS. my friend has 98 black on black GS and i cannot even compare the way it handles the road and LS. nothing can beat the LS. and as to acceleration, on the track he did 1/4 mile in 14.8 and i did on 15.6. so not a big differences. even GS 430 with aftermarket torque convertr did 14.3 plus fully loaded GS costs 54 while base LS starts at 55. and it means more features and more quality. GO FOR LS!!!! :D B)

i have 96 ls and yes i t has 260 hp, as to mods, i cant find anything decent and worht putting in. and the price..... this is the cheapest price ive ever heard for 1996. something is fishy about Ls with low mileage going for 7.5 k go to ebay and check for the real prices. i got mine with 90+ k miles a year ago for 13k and i consider it the best deal. i got it on the auction. and on the dealer lots they are still at least 15k with 130+k miles on them. But if you can get that car for this price, buy both of them and then sell another one on ebay:)

yeah register on the lexus website and they will send u a brand new lexus manual, i just got one myself, as to ect norm switch - all it does is makes ur tranny to switch to higher gear around 600-800 rpms later then on a normal drive. as to tires, i think u got already a lot of advices
