  1. Purchase a couple of cans of Bushe's beans and you will have all the Gaz you need lol!
  2. Yes had it done recently. All your info is correct. Took about one hour, got it washed and was told the recall also included a full tank of gas.. Worth the hour wait! Ya, we got the gas, oil change, tire rotate, nice deal lol!
  3. Pretty ugly looking bull rack on the front bumper ROTFFLMAO!!!
  4. :P Another person that must not know what friggan brakes are for lol!! Then your name may be Sue so you could get a lawyer!!
  5. If you can change oil on the friggan hog you can change on the Lexy lol!!!
  6. Sounds like great advice, I'll have a look around and see if anyone rents Airstreams on the Rock here. Have gone back now and checked quite a few sites to be sure about the dry weight of the trailer we have in mind, and it appears that it is 2800 lbs., not 3200, (there is no Airstream dealer here, so am checking with them by email for exact figures)...so that leaves a bit more cargo/liquids capacity. It's an Airstream 16 International Signature Series that we have in mind. Now my concern is that the trailer hitch weight is listed at 430 pounds and our RX manual says that 350 is the max recommended. Knowing nothing about hitches, can we "buy" our way out of that problem? Seems like 80 pounds is not that much but again, I'm a total newbie at all this, and sure don't want to damage the vehicle by overdoing it. My trailering experience is extensive with ski boats and tent trailers, but not an RV like this. I use what is called an equilizer hitch, it has two torsion bars, you can buy 350 lb bars, 450 lb bars and 550 lb bars, they have chains on the end with a chain tightner and ittakes the load off the hitch and rear end of car works like !Removed!!!!! I am on my 10th lexus and have towed with them alll even the 99 RX with the supposedly bad transmissions. Just remember to unhook mthe friggan trailer if you need to tow the SOB in, ROTFFLMAO, They are going to sell a qulity car they better be able to stand up and of all 10 they have only been back to have the friggan licence plates installed lol
  7. You pulled a 9,000 pound trailer 3,000 miles with an RX? Wow! What were you doing ... returning the space shuttle to it's launch pad? Did I interpret your post correctly or did you mean something else? No shuttle, just a farm tractor lol!!!
  8. It will handle it for sure, pulled a 9K lb tractor 3k miles without a problem, I had equlizer hitch with the bars and would recommend that setup. rule of thumb is to keep 10% of total weight on the hitch. the towing package does not come ready to plug to camper like Ford and .GM. For camper you must run wire from battery to a relay to the back for the trailer brakes and a positive for the camper battery to charge. which is a lot of dicking around compared to Ford and GM. The only plugin that comes with the Lexus towing package is a small 4 pronger for boat trailer lites ect. Then you will also need a trailer brake controller which the other mfgs are aready wired for but lexus or Toyota is not. You can buy extentions for your mirriors that just slip over your factory mirriors.
  9. So sorry you got screwed!!! Sounds like you got a real boner on for the car. I will give you 10K for the POS!
  10. :D Being a certified tec (not for lexus) I have had this noise in 8 of my last 10 lexus vehicals. I have used my electronic stethoscope on this engine, on top and underneath, this noise is real loud at each fuel injector so I surmise it has something to do with the tension of the Injector spring lexus uses. Just drive it as It never seems to get any worse.
  11. Wow! That sucker must have come across on the Mayflower, ROTFFLMAO
  12. Some owners on this site have blamed the noise on the timing chain. Mine makes a bit of noise when cold but the sound is gone within five minutes. It is barely noticeable unless you concentrate on hearing it. If yours is making a lot of noise, or you perceive it to be especially noisy, try going to the dealer and starting a cold RX on the lot to see if the sound is similar. Then you can march into the service adviser and make your point. Thanks. It's been back to the dealer twice. Both times they had a "factory rep" check it and say it was a normal noise, but the factory is looking for a fix. It won't hurt to drive it. I guess I'll keep driving it for awhile. 8 of my last 10 Lexus vehicals have had this noise, and yes it is normal so don't fret it. It is like a bag of Jalapenos: What you do today can burn your a$$ tomorrow.

  14. To get optimum wear out of your tires, you should rotate every 5K miles. Not totally true, as I have rotated every 5K and still get only 30K out of them!
  15. Is 36psi a bit too much ? The door sticker spec for 30 psi. I will try 33psi to see any improvement in noise and wear. I already replaced front driver side tire with the spare. I really don't know rotate them make any better since all 4 tires have the same inside wear. Its seem like all the wheels are angle out slightly; or they call them cast. The 30 psi is strictly for "The Lexus Ride", you know, cushy and all that. The Lexus service guy once told me 34 is quite common, but sacrifices the ride. The nearby Toyota dealer upped it to 36 and both the service writer and mechanic were quite OK with it. I also run 35 in my Acura with no problems. We're about to put 2,000 highway miles on the Lexus with the 36 psi in there so we'll see how that goes. Anybody else using 36 psi for daily use? Lexus has big problems with tires lasting over 30K miles, have owned many and every one is the same, finally started demanding Mitchlin tires and still get only 50K from them. The tires on the newer ones are the low rolling resistant type and cost $250 per tire pretty sad situation if you ask me. Have owned 10 of these cars and this will be the last one, hope they go broke as they have scammed the buyers long enough.
  16. No recommended service is ever (not needed) for the life of a car depends on service. As for the Toyota dealership..unless you just really like water... thats not a bad move..my car is currently having a ECM put in and being serviced at a Toyota dealership for about 600 less than what Lexus wanted. note: They offer free coffee and magazine, usually less than two months old mailed to a woman from another state, but somehow always make it to the office....lmao :P .... I would take it to a Lexus dealer on occasion just to have them glance over for a service.. and like quite afew in honesty like just looking around to see the new ones and the shop.. everyone likes five star treatment. But, price wise not a bad deal with Toyota and it still has warranty and trained personel....just my opinion. I have owned 10 of these vehicals and never have had any back to the stealer fro anything period!! These are well built cars and just to the routine maintainance and nothing more they will go 150K easily. Stealers are a total ripoff.
  17. :o :o :o I am on my 10 lexus vehical and have run 80K on them each and have never replaced a brake pad or rotor. years ago when I was in the car business we would see this a few times and we took the customer out and let them drive and every time they were what we called LEFT FOOTED BRAKEMAN!!! Right foot on throttle and left foot riding the brake pedel. Just learn how to drive and don't blame the car lol.
  18. Get the MDX if you want a shop queen, transmissions are junk. :(
  19. Welcome to the Lexus family. My 2007 RX 350 has pulled to the right since it was new. Now has over 40,000 km on it. As in your experience, the dealer told me it was sensitive Lexus steering :( After alignment, switching tires from side to side, it still was not acceptable. So, I wrote an e-mail to Lexus Canada complaining - ended up getting their servive rep to drive it. He acknowledged the pulling and approved replacement of the power steering pump and rack. Replaced Japanese rack with North American one - supposedly lighter steering touch - more assist. After all that, it was improved - did not feel like the steering was not 'centered' any more, but still wanted to head for the ditch on normal highway driving. Drove it for a while and finally after 1 year warranty was expired, another dealer did another alignment at no charge while I was paying for a replacement windshield after 3 major cracks - but that's another story. It was improved a bit more, but still takes pressure to hold the lane. Seems to be very sensitive to road camber - left lane tends to hold straight, right lane drifts right. Apparently, the design limits the alignment adjustment they can do - cannot do camber, I think - only caster so it is hard to really do a good job of getting things lined up like they should be. I'm planning on trying a non-dealer specialty shop to try to get it more comfortable to drive. Sorry to have to advise of ongoing troubles - suggest you not accept the dealer pacification and get them to aggressively make it right. Try driving other vehicles on dealer's lot to see if they are different. God luck Wilson Had one of those lemons a couple years ago and after stealers did everything they raised right tire pressure by 3 lbs and it was perfect until lube job time and they aired them up all the same so added 3 lbs and ok again for 80,000 miles. sometimes you need to just live with the lemons and make lemonaid lol :D :D :D
  20. :( After 23 posts and you are calling people Idiots??? You are the total idiot period!!!!!!! :chairshot:
