I am in the same situation regarding windshield distortion in my new 2008 RX350. My old RX300 does not have this issue and it has never been a problem for me with any other car. Have you contacted anyone at Lexus other than your dealer? I purchased an new 08 RX 350 on 3/10/08 and had the windshield replaced this week. It is worse than the first one. I just wrote to Lexus Corporate to see what they will do. I want to return the car as I am very unhappy. I drove in several friends cars from 2007 and they do not have a problem. Have you taken any other actions since the 2 windshields were installed? I wrote to Lexus as well by answering my survey on line. I did not get any response. If you addressed your letter to anyone in particular please let me know and I will send one to the same person. My dealer replaced my original windshield due to the distortion, but my second one is also distorted, it's terrible. I wanted to return the car (and still do) but they wouldn't take it back. It may the acoustic glass they are now using that is causing the distortion. Please let me know if you get a response. They don't give a chit about U!! They got your money and made the sale now they have the attitude you can live with it.

RU sure U R pushing the switch for the hatch???? AFAIK the hatch will not go up and down automatically you must use the swith behind the little closed door on the left side of the dash.

Sensors should be in the wheel not the tire. They should not need to touch them to change tires

I can't imagine that the source of, or resulting, wind noise in any way correlates to the doors and quarter panels not being adequately insulated. I addressed the tire noise and window seal noise first and then I was quite satisfied. 1. Bridgestone Turanza summer ONLY tires. 2. DIY spray can undercoating in/on the wheelwell/liners. 3. Silicon lubricant on the rubber door and window seals. Oh, forgot, I removed the roof rack cross bars (wind noise) and the trailer hitch (weight). Interesting. Did removing the roof rack cross bars make much of a noise difference? If they are installed with the blunt part facing forward. a few years back they had a bullitian on that. I had one and sure enough they were installed wrong and it howled like a !Removed!!!!

Anyone also know how many quarts of oil you put in after the old motor oil has drained? Thanks. 6.5 with filter change :D :D :D

I guess I must have gotten a good one because I think my 350 is plenty quiet and the doors sound solid when you close them. The only thing that bothers me as far as noise is the engine noise upon start up on cold days. Sounds like a truck. Just curious though, what brand of tires do you have? After owning a total of 11 differant Lexus models thruout the years, the last 4 have had this thrashing machine engine noise cold, I roadtested a new body style Toyota Hylander and sure enough started it cold and same noise, along wit 4-5 other new Lexus models. Now inquiring about this, Lexus claims it went to a different type injector which is the problem. It seems as they warm up they are ok, years ago I would have said a posibility of lifter bleeddown but due to all the OH cams and ect in this engine would tend to beleive Lexus as it seems not to be dteremental to the engine longivity. :D :D :D

The problems continue with my 2008 RX. This morning I put the passenger window down, and guess what? That is correct it now will not go back up. This car is total rubbish. Everyone said try Lexus, try Lexus. I will say good bye Lexus! It must be true, only the Germans build true luxury cars. My 1994 Benz that I gave to my 17 year old son has been great 180K miles and still going strong. God please help me get rid of this car!!!! My wifes Jag has been back to the dealer for only normal service and one warranty repair in 35K miles. Where does Consumer Reports get their info? I emailed Lexus and they keep telling me that the car has a 4 year 50k warranty, thats fine, I just do not think I should have to keep going back to the dealer for so many problems. :angry: My 08, made in Canada is also fine, no problems. If I were you lemon Law the !Removed!!!!

The 3 buttons is nice as I have mine programed to both garage doors and my electric gate. The rolling code like someone stated just takes pushing the learn button on the opener and it will pick up the code.

I think my sticker says Made In China lol!!!!!!!!!

Only advice I have is stay out of the stealers, they wreck more than they ever fix, they learn or train on the customers cars.

Thanks for the excellant writeup. I have owned 10 lexus vehicals and just looking at another but sounds like Toyota corp has gone way downhill. I also have a 07 Camry with the bluetooth and very disatisfied with it also. No wonder they got to be #1 the last year, it all came in building a cheaper car and poorer service. You just reassured me of what I have thought. Thanks!!!

Can anyone tell me what they are getting for actual fuel milage on a 07 or 08 RX350 2WD ? I don't want computer milage just actual fill to fill as these friggan commputers make it look rosie. I am going to be replacing my GX470 which is around 13 (yes a real pig on fuel).TIA RK
